Ellyon threw her backpack in its designated spot by her bed. She went over to her dresser, pulling open her junk drawer and fishing out her speakers. Plugging her ipod into them, she let the electronic Japanese music with synthetic voices fill the air. Plopping down on her bed, she let herself zone out as she listened to the foreign music.

Her veg-out time and mental blankness was interrupted by the doorbell ringing. She cracked an eye open, only to close it again as she began to eavesdrop on Tavel as he answered the door. Ellyon couln't hear everything, due to her music, but she could tell it was Ms. Palmer from next door. The eccentric woman had moved in about a year ago. From the way the conversation was going, Ellyon could tell Ms. Palmer was laying it on thick this time. The woman had a thing for Tavel, much to the amusement of Ellyon and Cal, Tavel's adult son. She was always trying to get Tavel out of the house to get drinks, but to no avail.

The conversation ended and Ellyon heard Tavel's footsteps approaching her room. He opened her door and poked his head in.

“Ms. Palmer is coming over for dinner at about 5:30,” he informed her. She blinked up at him.

“What?!?” she asked, almost dumbfounded. Tavel rolled his eyes. “No, it's not that. She took in a foster child, and she wants him to meet you and Cal so he can try to make friends. So clean up your room, since you're probably gonna hang in here and do whatever.”

Ellyon's mind flashed back to the boy she had seen outside. It had be him. She nodded at Tavel, who went back down the hall. Wordlessly, she started to tidy her room, dancing slightly to her music as she did so, trying to get the image of piercing green eyes out of her mind...

Brief Bio:Tavel was born into a “normal” American family in the 50's. His father was a Terran descendent, but unaware of the fact. Tavel was a family name, the name of his father's grandfather. Tavel was born in 1953, a time when American families kept their problems to themselves. His family didn't have many problems, except for the accidents that became increasingly frequent as Tavel aged. They kept everything as hushed as they could, until 1971. Tavel was 18, and he chose to become a fire-fighter.

Several months after successfully becoming a firefighter, an enormous fire in the forest outside the city was threatening to destroy the whole area. Tavel and all other fire-fighters fought valiantly, but the fire was too well fed. The situation was absolutely hopless. All of them would have surely died that day. The frenzy of the fire and certain death caused Tavel's magical talents to erupt out, and a blast of raw magic pushed back the flames from Tavel's team, saving their lives. It gave them the edge they needed to beat the flames. The other fighters thought they had all gone crazy, and vowed never to speak of it again. However, there was one other fire-fighter who knew what he had witnessed. The other fire-fighter was another Terran descendant named Vincent, and he had elven blood. He could also use magic, having elf blood, but did not have near enough talent to become a full-fledged wizard. He confronted Tavel later, and this was how Tavel learned of Terra and the whole society of stranded descendants.

Vincent started to train Tavel in basic magic to help him gain control of his powers, since he recognized the potential for a wizard or mage. They had a successful career in firefighting, partially in thanks to magic. Both Vincent and Tavel remained fire-fighters for a few years, but Tavel needed more extensive magical training, so in 1980, they quit the force. Vincent introduced Tavel to other Terran descendants and helped hi get a magic teacher. Tavel thrived in this new community, and here he met his future wife, Rina, who worked in the child foster care system to help find abandoned Terran kids and get them with families who knew how to deal with them. They married in 1982, and in 1989 they had their son, Cal. During this time Tavel became a full-fledged wizard of considerable power and spent a good deal of free time with Rina researching their Terran heritage.

Then in 2006, Rina found Ellyon in child services. It was strange because all of the full-blooded elves left on Earth were ancient and had no children, and yet here was a very young pure elf. Tavel disguised Ellyon for her protection and he and Rina raised her as their own. Rina died in a car crash 3 years ago.

Psychology: Tavel is a crafty and slightly cryptic individual. He likes fire spells the most after being a firefighter. Ever since he found out about his heritage, he has devoted his life to studying Terran history and longs to see it someday. His sense of humor is somewhat dry and he can be rather blunt. Ever since his wife died, he's been more subdued than his past spunkier self. Once something peaks his interest, it becomes impossible to deter him.
The girl stiffened as the second car passenger stepped out of the vehicle. He was slightly taller than herself, with straight dark brown locks that fell to his ears. He was thin, but he didn't look weak, instead looking deceptively strong, lean, and agile. His green eyes had locked with her own. She regarded him for a moment....feeling a sort of grim understanding with the stranger. The girl couldn't put her finger on the reason why, but it was almost as if they had crossed paths before..

An uneasy tingle jolted through her, and with a quick spin on her toe, the girl flitted up the stairs and into her apartment, where her godfather was waiting for her. She didn't look back at the young man. Her godfather glanced up from the bonsai tree was pruning.

“What caused you to burst in all willy-nilly, Ellyon?”

“We have a new neighbor or something....” she replied, quickly acting like nothing had happened at all. Her guardian quirked a brow.

“That's hardly a reason to jump inside like a mouse being chased by a cat,” he said.

“I don't know, Tavel...it was...just odd I guess. I felt like we knew each other, but didn't, or like weird vibes that make my spine tingle,” she responded vaguely, waving her fingers for emphasis. Tavel rolled his eyes and went back to his tree.

“It's probably the foster child Mrs. Palmer said she was going to take in. nothing to be alarmed about, Ellyon.”

“Mmmph,” Ellyon shrugged, and headed towards her room, already putting the stranger out of mind.
A girl hummed along to her music as she walked home from school. She was focused on the lyrics, quickly interpreting them as they played through her headphones. The music was in another language, and she was determined to learn the song's lyrics.

Still muttering lyrics under her breath, she shoved a strand of her honey-blond hair out of her face as she approached the apartment complex she lived in. She could see the small patio of her apartment from where she was. The teenage girl quickened her pace, and as she was getting ready to ascend the stairs, she noticed something out of the ordinary. There was a car in the visitor parking lot.

This was strange to her because of two reasons. No one ever used the visitor lot, and the car was one she had never seen. It was a black car, one that looked nice, perhaps owned by an agency or rental company. It must have just parked since the people were still inside. The driver looked to be a shrewish woman with her hair done up a tad too tightly, causing her forehead to appear too large. In the backseat there was a silhouette of a second person, but she couldn't quite make out their features... She kept standing at the base of the stairs, curious about the newcomers.
Name: Ellyon Sivol
Race: Elf-believes she is human
Age: 16
Appearance: average height, with delicate features and honey-blonde hair. When her human disguise falls apart, her ears become pointed and her hair becomes silvery-white with blue-teal undertones. Her eyes are a bright blue regardless.
Profession: High school student, for now
Native Land: Terra
Current Location: Earth, America
Special Skills: Has good powers of observation, and a knack for picking up other languages. Is also a great shot, and has a way with animals.
Brief Bio: Ellyon was born as the second child to the elf king and queen. The first seven years of her life were spent with them, though she remembers little of it. This is because of Elven biology and how elves age. She had the mental capacity equal to that of a human 2 year-old, and was about the same size. Not long before her 7th birthday however, the long dead portals suddenly opened all over Terra randomly, and one was right by her bed. The young Ellyon fell through the portal and ended up in America.

Social services soon found her, and became alarmed by her strange appearance. They became more perplexed when she spoke in a broken unheard of language. Luckily, before anything came of it, a Terran descendent whisked her away, realizing what she was, but not aware that she came from Terra.

The Earth-Terran brought Ellyon to her husband, a middle-aged wizard named Tavel. They realized Ellyon was a full-blooded elf, something that had not been seen in centuries. Knowing that the darker members of the descendants of Terra would want her for their own benefit, so he cast a disguise spell on her for her own protection. He and his wife raised Ellyon with their own son, Cal, telling Ellyon she was their god-daughter. Tavels wife died a few years ago, and Tavel plans to tell Ellyon of her true race and about Terra when she is ready.

Ellyon aged as all elves do, with a sudden growth spurt starting when she was 8. She quickly grew both physically and mentally, catching up with her human counter parts. She is almost to full elven-maturity, which is around 20-25 years of age.

Psychology: She has almost o memories of her life on Terra. She wishes she had more memories of her parents, and is slightly sad that she never knew them. She does not let it show, and hides her sadness behind indifference and confidence. Part of her void is filled by Tavel and Cal, who are just as loving as any father and brother. She also distracts herself with hobbies and friends, and is fully immersed in the gaming culture as a form of fun escape. She knows for some reason she doesn't belong, but doesn't know where else she could belong. This has developed a sense of wander-lust in her soul, and she longs to travel the world.
