@Shadow Dragon, it depends because the solution differs from person to person. But I just chat with my lover or play games with friends. Watch "Memes" with them. Ultimately, the little things.

Oh my god, I played the Tales games for like 5 months nonstop. Xillia is just too good, and way too much fun, I'd be interested. Also, collaborating on little skits and such will be amazing, as always.I'm thinking too much about the Tales of series. The one I spent the most time on is Graces f, with 80+ hours into it. Its weird, because the games on the PS3 are easy to speedrun.Enough of my ranting, interested. Also, if Sly Cooper gets chosen, I know about the first one because ZeldaKnightress, a youtuber from absolutely AGES ago played it. She was the shit.I like SC characters with anthros, its really creative and sometimes helps for personalities.

I'd probably be Wannabe Maxwell. -shot-

Only thing is I'd probably skip the intro part for... reasons, or compile it into one mass post that would kill people's screens, but... You know the reason behind it.

It would quite literally be just two people posting due to the Two point's of view.

I would love you forever for a Xilia based story. With original characters. Low key and I tried to join a Tales based RP and the OP never posted a damn thing. Lol. So would ADORE to do one.I played Sly cooper (well watched my roommate play it) and it was okay to watch, but i didnt absorb any of the lore really...well a little.

Sly Cooper is just goofy snarky humor with a lot of swaave characters. (As in, very whitty, and sometimes ideal qualities with other contrasting ones.)

But seeing two votes for ToX.

I mean, I have character sheets and stuff, but it will still take a while to throw everything else together.
So, I've been playing Tales of Xillia pretty religiously for the past two and a half months, pretty cool if you ask me. Probably the best in the series if you want my opinion. And I absorbed it's lore like a sponge. So, because of all these feelings I got from game itself, why not an rp based around it?

My favorite thing about ToX was the versatility of a character's skills. So I'm not going to be strict about character creation here due to the vast amounts of lore I could spend days writing about.

"But why is Sly Cooper mentioned if you are just talking about Tales of Xillia?"
Well, I've been playing the main series for years and also wanted to do something based around that, and much to my surprise, I've played the newest entry in the series, and I like where this next trilogy is going.

So I thought "Why not have some non-canon fun in other exotic places around the world with other quirky characters?"

In short, this one is very hit and miss due to it's already robustly established plot. Because of how robust it is, there is much more freedom to be had here with senseless violence to heroic deeds to other sorts of anti-heros.

What is very unique about Sly Cooper as a series, it combines a bit or Noir, as well as Magic in some places. (Not lying. There is quite literally magic through the original trilogy. Could even list where.) And because of this factor, it could lead to very interesting sets of characters and gangs. But that really depends on you guys.

My only concern is the majority of the cast is anthropomorphic people in the Sly Cooper franchise. I might make tweaks if people want a human or a hybrid like character. Or Characters.

So... Interested? Anything you wish to contribute? Leave a comment if so. Or leave a comment if you have questions about either of these.

Gunmancy would be her main line of attack. Like, Grenadier with magic, and carbines. A style invented and perfected by her, and her ambition is to spread it to the rest of her kin as well. Fire Aether, because carbines accept fire more readily than any other element. Something like . (Gun-kata ftw!)

I suppose. Just don't like... expect to kill everything that way lol.
KabenSaal said
Exactly what I was thinking, on the Lumarian front. two leaver action Carbines firing flame bullets, to punch though shit. Of course, I understand the idea of it being magical. If you shot a Gorgon with a physical bullet, it'd piss it off, but if you shot it with a magical Fire bullet, it probably wouldn't even notice. And. Aether being a specific element, like Flame Aether, or Aquad Aether, or is it just Aether like Mana, and the actual person is what dictates which Element they are able to use?

There is non-elemental Aether that acts as physical lol. (Pretty much a resistance bypasser. i.e. "I resist all elements, but neutral with physical strikes most times." Well I know what will or can hurt you.)

But yes, there are elements specific races start with. Then ones that can be acquired.

Note: guns will only be useful of single targets. That is a draw back, and you can't do too many incantations unless let's say someone synchronized with your channeling and casting.
KabenSaal said
So, I have an idea, but never really got where we where with the firearms and magic. Is it just telekinesis, or is there some Elemancy as well? And, are the firearms like the Western leaver-rifles and revolvers, or more of the English Civil War's 'Fire a hundred and hope two hit' kind of guns?

Fire arms are more western, but not as effective as you may think it is. Like it will wound enemies easily, but let's say an armored opponent? Not very effective.
Like, the race that has huge advantages with Fire Arms are Lumarians. Elements they learn or harness they can deploy via shots due to it being the channeling device of one's choosing. The big kicker there is it would only be magic damage and not physical. (If that makes any sense to you at all.) Unless they imply telekinetic force. (Which is the equivalence to a punch.)

As for Magic. A way of explaining it is people who are born with Aether can use a type of element, but there are those who study the effects of passing traits.
Such as... A person may give a sacred Sigil of power to permanently give use of an element and never truly master it.

Aether is the source of power that everyone has, but just more science like in terms of terminology. It comes within the body and within the soul, the soil, the water, and nature. It flows through all. (Unless you are a decaying corpse.)

So a lifeless being would cling to "Aether" due to it being not just a source of life, but a source of power.
I need to work on a basic map, one that seems like would be drawn by a basic map maker.

And then My CS to an Opening. That is my goal today, because yesterday the Guild was down for like...90% of the day.

Mmm.. Ah, I was under the impression that the Zoras were good at evolving, as established by the Rito. I also remember the Zora Suit link having an increased vulnerability to cold in TP. However, I understand it's not part of the established mythos nor of the theme you're trying to set, so I wish you luck and shall take my exit.

I'm sorry for being a bit of an inconvenience, but bottom line is... You never said anything about it to me. I can't just act like it's fine either, this does not just effect one person, but the entire established world, this I cannot really allow it based on so little detail and theory.

Sorry.
Baklava said
I know they evolved from Zora. I've read the wiki and I've played the games. I'm just not really sure how you can be overlooking something so crucial. The entire reason you go through the temple on Dragon Roost Island is to see what's troubling Valoo and fix the problem so that Prince Komali can go through with his coming of age ceremony and get his wings-- after which he gives you Din's Pearl. They even say, , that the Rito invented the grappling hook to get around when they didn't have wings. He's engrained into their entire culture! Without Valoo they're literally just humanoid creatures with beaks. I'm sorry if you don't think what I have to say is interesting. And I'm also sorry that my desire to know more about the race I wanted to play as threw you into such an unbelievable tizzy. It would have been nice if you had let me know more about what you have in mind for the Rito race, but judging by their two sentence description and your butt-hurt attitude, I'm guessing you didn't give it much thought. I honestly don't care if you don't want to stick to what's canon, but all you really had to say was "In my version, the Rito race grows their wings all by themselves but still has a Native American-like culture where they respect certain spirits" or something along those lines. Obviously I still don't know what you really have in mind for them. Anyways. I think I'm gonna give this one a skip. Not really feeling all that welcomed and I can't get very excited about a Zelda roleplay that's going to throw canon out the window without any explanation or forwarning. Forgive me for being under the impression that my input, as someone wishing to participate in your roleplay, was of any value to you. Best of luck.

Not really "Butt hurt", it just isn't "crucial" if I have to clearly spoil my own things for this plot. But think as you wish, I simply do not care.

Bottom line is I am the GM here, you're just some random guy. Do you think you're argument will outweigh my final decision? If you earnestly think so, than you are sorely mistaken.

Besides, I have my own things to tie up even before I start this; so if you want to go, I don't feel like I lose anything from this to be fair.

Rito lived on the same Island Voloo, I get that, but the Dragon is not royalty, the people are. And if you want to confuse that, fine. But if I straight up give out my whole portfolio, what would I have to do than? The entire premiss of this rp and project in immersion and exploration. Not a teaching lesson, not saying there won't be any of that from time to time, but that is not the goal of the rp.

So if you believe I threw lore out the window? No, I really did not, it is just they as people are not taken as priority of the whole exploration, but I never once said we would not go there now did I?

Name: MusouNickname(Optional): If you come up with one, I'll gladly add it here, but Musou has been alone for quite some time.Age: 22Gender: MaleRace: Desert ZoraRace Description: The Desert Zora were a small splinter colony of normal Zora once. Living outside Hyrule on the far side of the Gerudo Desert peacefully with their own oasis, these Zora were nothing special. However, a group of Dark Sorcerers happened upon them and took the action most Dark Sorcerers took upon meeting the Zora, destroying their source of water. The peaceful Desert Zora were helpless to resist this, and no hero was there to save them. The Dark Sorcerers wished to make servants out of the Zora rather than slaughter them outright, and so taught them strange rites that bound them to the Dark Sorcerers power in return for adaption to the desert. Dark magic and strange rituals with a price in blood slowly changed the Desert Zora. Their fins became short and stout, their blue scales rough like sandpaper and colored in reds and tans as the sands. Their eyes tinged red with the fell price they paid. Eventually, the Dark Sorcerers fell to the only enemy they could not master, time. The Desert Zora forgot the source of their powers, forgot who they were before, and never realized their rituals were dark magic. A life for a well was the only way they knew to survive. But one Shaman-in-training found that price unacceptable, Musou.Non-Battle Occupation: Shaman/Raincaller. If you don't mind bleeding, Musou can make your wish come true... At a cost likely greater than the blood spilled in the ritual.Height: 6'8"Weight: 176Distinctive Proportions: As a Desert Zora, both Musou's clothes and physical appearance are incredibly distinctive to most, often not recognizable as a Zora until second glance unless only looked in silhouette . He has grayish tan coloring, completely devoid of the blue tones of normal zora, his eyes are tinged red with an unrelentingly hard stare. His clothes are mishmash of his own and of the prizes he took as he wandered through the desert, the black runed tans of his homeland with garishly colored blues and red silks from the Gerudo.Frame: Masculine, but not so much that he overcomes the "most Zora are androgynous twigs to everyone not Zora" syndrome.Description of looks: He carries a Gerudo Naginata, red silken banner trailing from it just below the blade. A deep blue scarf is around his neck and waist, also trailing a bit. The rest of his clothes look appropriate to a shaman or monk, covering much of his body in a neutral tan, and are covered in strange black runes of a corrupted Hylian divergent from actual Hylian from long isolation.Main Weapon (Required): A Gerudo Spear/Naginata (OoT style), picked up when he traversed through the desert.Sub Weapon (Optional): Dunno if his dark magics would count, but he has em.Type of Artes: Three Styles In Particular, Curse Magic that emphasizes weakening the enemy, his Honorable/Chivalrous defensive/protective Naginata style, and then Bereserk kill everything with anything he can lift.Fighting Style: Musou is a berserker who realizes he is one, and a caster whose dark magic has a cost in blood, a . Before engaging, he will think tactically, cast debuffs on his foes, weighing the cost in his strength vs the hindrance to the target, and try and pick the best time to engage. Initially in direct combat, he fights with an semi-honorable pride as a chivalrous warrior. But once his muscles start pumping and his own blood flows across the battlefield, he loses himself to the curses woven through his blood by his dark heritage.Tools: Desert Survival Gear, Ritual Gear.Physical Weaknesses: Ice, cold, and water. Due to his physical changes, he can't actually swim. He can breath underwater, but he can't swim. And his normal Zora weaknesses to ice and cold have been compounded by his desert heritage. Low Physical Defense.Physical Strengths: Highly resilient to heat (but not immune), High Physical Offense, can easily "swim" and otherwise traverse through whirlpool dunes and quicksand.Personal Weaknesses: Honorable Pride. This can be thought of as a strength, but this is not that kind of honorable. This is the "Goku giving Cell a Setsu Bean" level of Honorable, a reckless pride that insists on fighting opponents one on one without taking advantage of moments of weakness and allowing them to ready themselves for battle. Berserk. The only time he'll stop being honorable is once he's lost his senses and just rages across the battle as a berserker.Personal Strengths: Chivalrous. He does also have the nice kind of honorable, with a hint of excessive kindness to the ladies. Loyal. Unless he's berserk, he would gladly throw himself in the way of attacks headed towards his comrades, if he believes they are in danger.Perks: Strength and Endurance. His harsh lifestyle and draining magic have honed his physical form's raw power.Elemental Immunity: Resistant to Fire and Electricity, but not actually immune to either.Limit Breaker: Musou loses control over his dark magic, and it surrounds his with a dark purple aura as of flames, dramatically increasing his strength to scales of titanic proportions for about a minute or so. However, his berserk state worsens and he loses much of his ability to tell friend from foe, simply lashing out at the strongest and closest beings.Once the magic has exhausted all the power left in Musou's body, he collapses.Character Growth Opportunities: Overcoming his berserk nature, pride, and reliance on dark magic would all be growth aspects I'd like to investigate.

Going to have to deny this. "A desert Zora"?

The concept of a fishfolk living in an arid landscape bewilders me.

Though I do appreciate the effort you tried putting into balancing out... It just does not quite bode well with me.

First, you should have PM'd me about this race before throwing this in before even bothering to apply.

And a fish not being able to survive cold? Last I checked all the Zoras can survive under ice like regular fish.

But never has a Zora survived arid degrees of temperatures.
I can see and appreciate the idea of adaptability.

Like... Cult like magic or not.... It just does not work. It defies the very physics that the race is bound to.
So it does not make sense for a "established" race not to know where the power comes from.

Sorry, but again, denied.

Well it would be kind of boring, in my opinion, if everyone originated in the city region. I can get my character there, I would just like to know more about the Rito clan-- or, rather, your version of it. Valoo was pretty integral to their race and culture, so... if he's not there that's kind of a big deal. Valoo may be susceptible to death-- that's true-- but Wind Waker seemed to hint that he and the other spirits didn't have a regular life span. He spoke ancient Hylian, after all. I don't really see any reason why he wouldn't still be alive.Considering how far society as a whole seems to have come, wouldn't it be interesting if there were some Rito that forsook their heritage and made the decision to live without Valoo's scales to grant them wings because that meant they would have had to swear loyalty to him in a sense?

Umm.. Rito evolved from Zoras, that is even stated by the lore pretty much. They pretty much follow the same graceful principles, because of flight, they are seen as good recon and delivering packages. The most certainly dress up more due to how they evolved. Aside from that, Voloo was pretty much just a great spirit that watched over where many lived, he didn't really influence much. (Even says so in the games pretty much.)

Also...I didn't ask you what would be interesting or what would be boring.

I'm leaving the ambiguity of your character up to you. Notice in the CS I don't ask for your backstory; mostly because it should be gradually explored.

So before you go "But Voloo" No, I refuse to comment further.
Baklava said
Would I be correct in assuming the Rito have their own sort of mountain/holy city where Valoo the Dragon resides? Considering that's the only way they're supposedly able to get their wings.

It would be incorrect. Valoo was more of a Guardian Spirit, meaning he is capable of death. However, I prefer you just start in the city region. Most everyone is starting there due to "expedition.".

In short, Dragoon Roost island might be considered holy ground. But if you character has been or started there, then why go into immersion of it?
