Yep, so here it is. The assorted faces I'll be donning in the distant and not-too-distant futures. I'll divide things up by RP and so on.
I'll take Fantasy and one of your choice for 400.
Definitely interested, and I'll throw something up later.
Hope it's not too late to throw my hat into the ring.
Are you also looking for other players? Because I'd play this.
As you looked into the cemetery, the open tomb confirmed all of the agency's worst fears about what happened. Someone--or perhaps something--had gotten loose. And as the coffin lid seemed to have been thrown off a great distance from the coffin itself, whatever monstrosity was freed during the power breach was strong. You knew you had to be on your guard here, and you looked around in all directions just in case something was there waiting for you.

Seeing nothing, you reached for your communicator and pushed a button. "We have a problem. Something escaped. Location unknown." You said, with a professional veneer of calm. You didn't feel calm. Undead were not a common occurrence.

"Oh...oh god." The voice on the other end said. "I'll put out a warning--we'll have everyone in the sector looking for this thing...y-you just look around the gravesite for now, try to figure out how it got out, where it went..."

"Roger." You replied. Your instincts were screaming out about this, but rationally you knew this was the least likely place for it to be. Would a caged animal hang around its cage? Of course not. Taking a deep breath, you took a look at the gravesite. The directors had always known that the creatures they hunted down couldn't really be killed, so they made sure to bury them in every kind of dimensional and spiritual seal imaginable in order to keep them anchored to a rotting body.

Speaking of, you didn't see the body here, which was maybe why you were on edge. Something about this just didn't feel right...but it didn't matter in the end. You had a job to do. That this looked very suspicious only meant you had more to investigate. You started by the top of the coffin first, examining the magical script all over it once you flipped it back over. Breaking out of this coffin would have created some amount of magical feedback, which would show as damage to wherever the weak link was. You quickly spotted a few prime candidates, cracks and burns appearing on the 2nd and 15th seal.

You heard something thump a small distance from you, and you stopped what you were doing to check if you needed to be worried. You didn't see anything, but when dealing with magical entities that didn't mean much. You made a mental note to find out what kind of abomination was buried here once you were done examining the gravesite, and took out your department-issued stake. You turned yourself to face the sound as well so that if something came for you, you'd be ready.

You continued looking over the coffin, for just another moment, when it happened.

It had never even left the cemetary.

You punched out with your stake where you thought it was lunging, but you misjudged it--it hadn't jumped at the coffin-top like you'd expected, but ducked down, grabbing your arm as it surged back upward and pinning you down on the coffin-top. It was strong--very strong--and it didn't need to worry about coffin seals it had already broken. A greenish light emerged from its face and reached into yours. It was looking to take over your body.

You heard laughter in your skull as you struggled to resist it, words becoming beyond you as the pain in your head surged. For what felt like hours, you lay there, trying to hold the creature off.

And then, you weren't.

"It's time I played a slightly different role..." The abomination spoke with your voice as it looked around. I jammed the stake through my old body quickly as I looked around. You could feel my thoughts, my dissatisfaction with the turn of events, and that managed to wash away the comfort you felt. I sighed--a strangely human expression--as I took the stake and began carving my old body up.

"That body will leave too many questions." I said. "May as well let them think I'm loose."

You knew you should have felt horror, but you didn't. This is what dying to abominations was like. You didn't go out all at once, but...in pieces.

That was the way with RPers.

Hope you liked that intro, and I'm sure there were holes. I tried to patch everything up but I wanted to get this done quick.

And no, I don't think that this is how you're "supposed" to introduce yourself, but I figured "Hey, you guys get a million generic 'Hello, I'm a guy looking for RP' intros per unit of time here, so I might as well give you something different and interesting instead." Plus I figured that might make advanced RPers trust me more, so that's a plus. I have a ton of tabletop experience and somewhat less with forum RPs. I also do weekends and birthdays.

So yeah. Don't know what else to say here. Genre preferences? I can do a lot of things but I prefer stuff with magic for a variety of reasons. That's about it.
