Charles glanced at Sophia, briefly wondering if he should stop Sigmund before deciding to go through with his plan. holding out his hand, he focused on the power of his spirit and whispered to her. "Lend me your gifts." Instantly he felt the core of her power twine around his own mana, filling him with strength. Opening his eyes, he slowed his breathing and relaxed, his Wallflower skill making the distraction even more effective. quickly he entered the house, carefully closing the door behind him. He waited for a few moments, listening to make sure he was alone, then made his way around the house, examining doors and windows and relaying anything he found back to Sigmund. Eventually he came to the victim's room, and he stopped again to make sure he was alone. Entering the room, he started examining everything carefully, starting with the windows and the wall leading outside, then moving to the contents of the room itself. He relayed everything he found back to Sigmund, trying to be as detailed as possible.

Return of Powers

there is no minimum age for a character, but it's usually recommended to be above 12. that said, your character could have tricked their way into the group, or followed them until they couldn't turn back.

as for the power, it wouldn't be called magic, it would be called Cryokinesis, or the ability to control ice. That said, Cryokinesis alone is pretty flimsy for this RP, so i would recommend at least expanding it to Thermokinesis, or the ability to control temperature.

Return of Powers

nobody quite knows what powers are, since they seem to be genetic, but defy every law of science. they can be effected by chemistry and psychology, but nobody can figure out where they come from.

powers are accepted on a case by case basis. in the old RP (School of Powers), we had powers that ranged from telepathy, technopathy, intangibility, regeneration, energy manipulation, flight, mimicry and a dozen others Jinxer can tell you more about it, he's the one who invented the idea.

A Brief History
2009: During the civil war, a group of young people gifted with extraordinary powers helped free the world of military oppression.
2013: Four years after the civil war, more and more children are being born with superhuman abilities. Julius, one of the heroes who fought in the war, has created several charities and organizations to help the gifted, including a School to teach them to use their powers. Shortly after it's opening, the School is targeted by a group of superpowered terrorists, led by a boy with the power to absorb the abilities of his victims. With the help of the students and a young girl named Rhiannon, Julius and his companions managed to fight off the menace and the traitorous members of the Council of Elements.
2060: In response to the recent calamities involving terrorists with powers, the governments of the world have begun what they call "Purifying Humanity", a project with the goal of eradicating the "impurity" of powers. A small biotech company called Tricore has been contracted to develop the vaccine.
2105: The vaccine developed by Tricore was successful, and the company has begun using it to seize power for themselves in secret. Terrorist attacks directed by Tricore are directed at world powers, who inevitably depend on Tricore to save them. In ten years, the company controls almost all of the inhabited world. The few people who were able to retain their abilities go underground, staying away from populated areas to avoid Tricore enforcers.
2135: The "Grand Cities" are built for what Tricore says is "a defense against the climate of the planet, which will soon become unable to support life." Tricore begins terraforming the planet outside of their city walls, creating harsh deserts, frozen tundras and unending storms. The Resistance begins forming outside the walls, building underground bases capable of surviving the climate changes. The Council of Shadows is formed, a secret group of powered people who coordinate the efforts of each Resistance stronghold.
2205 some children born to two gifted parents seem to have a mutated power, perhaps as an evolutionary response. The mutation grants the children the ability to grant powers to people who have none, perhaps by removing the vaccine from their body. As they come of age, at least one of the children with this "Metapower" is assigned to each Resistance stronghold, and anyone who doesn't have a power and wants one can have theirs unlocked.
2305: There has been no change in the balance of power in the last hundred years.

The Cast

Tricore
Tricore is the company that developed the vaccine for gifted people. They now control the entire world and everything the people use, from paper to computers.

The Resistance
The Resistance is comprised of many groups, people with powers and people who sympathize with them, spread over the globe. for each Grand City, there is a Resistance Stronghold nearby, 9 in total.

System
System is the primary AI for the Resistance, controlling everything within the strongholds. Like the Council, nobody knows where System really is, only that it is incredibly advanced for current technology.

The Council of Shadows
The Council of Shadows is a semi-secret organization, bodied by one chairman from each Stronghold. Their purpose is to organize and direct the efforts of the Resistance as a whole. Once a person becomes a member of the Council, they never return to their Stronghold. only a handful people who are not on the council know where they are.

Lauren Smith

Power:
-Immortality: Lauren can never die as long as her heart and head (or their remains) are together. If they are sepperated and brought back together, even only one molecule of each, she will start regenerating.
-Healing: Lauren's body can regenerate itself, most non-mortal wounds healing withing seconds. She can regrow limbs in a day and come back to life in two. She can also share her healing with other people, though at a much reduced rate.
-Matter Absorption: Lauren can absorb physical, non-living matter and use it to augment her body. Her augmented flesh takes on the same properties as the material she absorbed.
-Increased Density: Lauren's body is five times denser than normal, making her incredibly strong and tough. The increased density also makes her sink in water, and makes her almost as heavy as a car.
Bio: Julia was a student a student of Julius' school centuries ago. Gifted with a growing power of regeneration, she fought alongside Julius in many battles. As everyone aged around her and died, however, Julia never changed, and she began to curse her power, being forced to keep living while the people she cared about faded away one by one. She watched her children, grandchildren, and every generation since grow old and die, and it hurt her so much she shut everything out. She changed her name and for hundreds of years she wandered the world with Rhia, the girl who shared her immortality by mimicking her power. She watched with cold disinterest as the war against her kind raged around her. Though she and her friend still fight for the Resistance, many people haven't seen them and believe they are only a legend.

Personality: Lauren's cold, distant behavior belies a gentle soul beneath. While her smiles are rare at best, Lauren is loyal and kind in her own way. She is a hard person to relate with, but once someone gets past the shell around her heart she will fight to protect them.

Rhiannon Jones

Powers: 'Mastery' - Rhiannon is able to 'Master' any ability if she sees the user or the ability in use. She once promised not to use those powers she Mastered unless she was given permission to do so by the owner or if her life (or the lives of others) was under significant threat. She sticks to this promise zealously.

Bio: Rhiannon was seventeen years old when she joined the School of Powers under the headmaster's personal protection. Intrigue and scheming centred around her power and when war broke out she stood by the headmaster through thick and thin, along with her close friends including Julia who had sworn to protect her, until the end of the war and stability was maintained.It quickly became apparent that her Mastering of Julia's power (involuntarily as her life had been in danger) had resulted in her not aging beyond her eighteen year old self. Seeking the advice of the then aging headmaster (Julius Ragnarson) she decided that she would live by his ideals and protect what he had tried to create. Unfortunately even she lacked the power of the 'Storm God' and as events quickly took a turn for the worse she work alongside Julia while watching over Julius' descendents; hoping against hope that one of them might show the terrifying power their forebear had possessed
Personality: Friendly and cheerful on the surface, with a fierce attachment to her Welshness, Rhiannon is often somber and quiet around those she knows well. Having lived so long and seeing friends, family and even whole generations pass her by has given her a certain detachment from the speed of life around her; she now moves at her own pace and lets nothing get in her way once her course has been decided.

Gaius Ragnarson

Age: 16

Appearance: Gaius looks like his forebear, Julius 'Storm God' Ragnarson with storm grey eyes and blond hair so light it sometimes appears to be white. He has grown his hair out long and tied it back into a single, carefully groomed ponytail in an effort to distinguish himself from Julius' image. He has stronger features than Julius with a squarer jawline and he stands at a little over average height at 5' 11" whereas his forebear had been a short man. Gaius is not broad but has an athletic build and is clearly in good shape despite not being overly muscled.

Powers: Gaius is the first of his line to wield the same power as Julius with any proficiency as it relies heavily on a powerful intellect and a quick mind; both of which Gaius possesses. Able to control air currents around him Gaius has massive potential but right now his power is still very undeveloped; it resembles Julius' before he entered the House of Powers and before his struggle for survival.

Bio: Gaius' family has been hunted for their descent from Julius Ragnarson with those in power fearing the potential symbolism of one of that line rising to prominence; Gaius is still proud of his ancestor's reputation in the Resistance despite his parents' brutal murder for their mere descendance from Julius. Sheltered much of his life in the Resistance and watched over by Rhiannon and Julia, Gaius is unaware of the expectation set upon him.

Personality: Gaius is proud, honest and quick-witted. He may lack his forebear's ability to manipulate and scheme but he is still young and impressionable; he wants nothing more than to live up to the memory of his forebear so instilled in him by his parents.

James Feryana

Appearance: James has short, straight, black hair that goes down just above his ears. His eyes are blue, and he has small lips. He is quite thin, and normally smiles. He stands at a sort of average size for a 14 year old.
Powers: James has the powers of super speed and super durability.

Personality: James is a kind, responsible, innocent boy. Unfortunately, he is also really, really shy, and is easily made upset. James really likes nature, and admires it often. He cares a lot for his friends, especially those that he has a good relationship with. With new people, James acts really shyly, and gets hurt really easily if they do something mean to him. James likes computers, and he spends slightly more time outside than he does inside.

-Locate: Ludonear can find anyone he has met before, seeing them as if in a dream. anyone nearby he has not seen before will be blurred. After emerging from this dream state, Ludonear will be able to point the location out on a map, regardless of landmarks or lack there off.

Bio:
Not too much is known about Ludonear's life before he joined the rebels on Stonewall. He obviously used to have a life, family and a place to live, but somewhere during his recent history that all came to an end. He was found near dead by a patrol and nursed back to health, choosing to stay on Stonewall afterward. Ludonear rarely speaks of his past and when he does he only talks about 'Syndra', who he seems to like, and 'Sarridan', who he seems to dislike. Ludonear had at some point in his past training in firing guns, anything from pistols to rifles to snipes, and in tracking people while staying unseen. Probably due to his traveling after his previous life ended, Ludonear, when equipped properly, is quite familiar with the surface world.

Powers: Puppet Mastery, the ability to take control of nonliving things. While taking control of said objects, he becomes somewhat melds his mind into it. If the object he is controlling is destroyed, while he is controlling it, it can send him into shock or worse. Controlling small objects is no problem, but anything as large or larger than a human becomes physically draining for him. While controlling an object, his body is still vulnerable to attack, as he goes into a sort of trance. He carries around a small poppet, using it frequently.

Resistance Technology

Hostile Terrain Vehicle (Crawler)
The Crawler was designed by System to allow relatively safe travel through the harsh Wilds. A typical crawler is equipped a low/high frequency noise emitter to deter wildlife, radar systems, a filtered air supply system, an oxygen scrubber, a moisture collector and a synthetic nutrient dispenser that can draw nutrients from it's surroundings. The vehicle's feet are equipped to handle any terrain, even vertical slopes. The Crawler is the most advanced Full Terrain Vehicle to date, even capable of traveling across the ocean.

Memories still flashed by her eyes, visions of times that weren't hers, but soon they faded into the background, and she saw the world around her again. Looking up, she saw the face of ine of the other students, suddenly realizing she was being carried somewhere. She struggled a bit, getting his attention, and when he put her down she said "We have to see the queen. I know something that can help in the war."
