Lilly Lilly happily followed Kat down the hall. "I wasn't waiting long," She lied, floating behind her friend to try and ease her nervousness a bit. "I just got here actually." When Kat asked about how she died, she froze for a second, but quickly recovered. "Are you sure you want to know about that? It's not a story that has a happy ending you know." She hesitated again, then decided she might as well. "Alright, if you really want to know." "It wasn't a special day really. No thunderstorms or pouring rain. It was actually pretty nice out, and my brother, our parents and I were all on our way back from a picnic. My brother wasn't feeling well, so we were headed to a doctor to get him a check up. About halfway there though, a drunk driver swerved into the lane ahead of us, and my dad tried to avoid him. We wound up going over the side of the highway, and we plummeted three stories to the ground." She took a deep breath before continuing. If Kat turned around, she would see tears streaming down Lilly's face. "I did the only thing I could think of, I protected my brother. In the few seconds I had to react, I managed to pull him to me and cover him with my body. Ironic though, me trying to save him is what wound up killing me." She stopped again, and it almost seemed like she wouldn't continue, but she did. "I didn't die from the crash. My brother broke his arm pretty bad on impact, so bad that the bone was sticking out like a dagger. That's what killed me. It stabbed me right through the stomach, and by the time help came, Marcus was the only one alive." Grace Grace jolted upright in the back of her van, panicking at her alarm. "Shit shit shit, where's that button!?" She yelled as the klaxon rang in her ears. Eventually she managed to shut it off, and sighed taking a moment to sort her mind out. "I guess I go to school today," She said, reaching for a pair of jeans. Once she was decent, she reached over the front seat and pressed a button on her dashboard, setting the windows from opaque to transparent, and pushed her way out into the morning light. "Hello world," She said with a small smile, stretching over her head.
