well, what you're saying is that to create a lightning bolt, he has to know exactly what happens when lightning strikes, but he really wouldn't. All he would have to know is what happens just BEFORE the lightning strikes, in other words the conditions that need to be met for it to happen, and let regular physics take care of the rest. And even modern science knows pretty well how that works.

that's not actually quite true... I mean, I can't do it instantly, but assuming what I've read on the subject is correct, I can easily picture the molecular effects that go into creating a bolt of lightning. It just takes a minute for me to run through it.
