That makes me kinda sad. I spent a whole day working on it. (Well, not a whole day. Honestly it was like, half an hour, and I never finished the ending)

You read the side story right? Sharon GOT the Eye while fighting her private war with Marcus, not long after he started his power grabbing in earnest. In fact, she probably wouldn't recognize anybody else's magic besides his, only because she's been fighting against it so long.

It was in the original description of the Zero eye, in fact, it was the MAIN use of it. Seeing the future was just one of it's strengths, the important part was that it gave Oco a "sight beyond sight", which he could use to see the structure of spells, see over great distances, and, yes, see into the fragmented future. When Oco was using it, he could have thrown his sight along Marcus's connection to the snake and seen everything around him, but since Sharon is inexperienced, the most she saw was that the snake was connected to something, and that connection looks like Marcus's magic.
The Zero Eye sees more than just the future. Since the crystal is being used as a veiwing device, Sharon can use it in reverse. (Until Marcus notices and shuts her down)
