Magnets, how do they work. In this case, the answer really is magic.
Caroline sighed and sat down facing him. "Yeah, Phorros is tough. I guess it's just a lot easier to move something that isn't solid." Running her fingers over the stone in her hand, Caroline suddenly had an idea. Arranging several stones in a circle, she closed her eyes and focused on tapping into her Phorros element. Once she had it, she touched each stone in turn. When she touched the second one, the first one snapped to it like it was alive. Each stone she touched after that did the same, until she had a pile of them stuck together. "That's it," She said happily. "That's how I can move them." Glancing up at the boy, she realized he probably had no idea what was happening. "Sorry, I just had to try it. I just magnetized the rocks, making them move on their own. I don't suppose that's helpful to you, is it?"

That reminds me of something I saw, when two mercenaries mistook some guy as a spy or something and were trying to kill him, and he hijacks a car to get away but it's a garbage truck. One of the guys says "Ingenious! He's trying to confuse us by using the slowest most obvious vehicle here!"
