Alex leaned over and whispered so that nobody else could hear. "If you don't stop wiggling so much your dress will slip." he teased. As Nessie came over and sat down, he leaned forward, resting his chin in his hand. "So, where's my sister then? I heard you two were in the same dorm now."

"Sorry, where are my manners?" Alex held out his hand. "I'm Alexander Miller, I teach Advanced Element Interactions and Manipulation, but since nobody's qualified for that yet I'm just helping out with whatever I can." He pointed to his eye, holding it open. "I've mastered both of my elements, and moved onto base power manipulation. Recently I've been able to see people's life force and their elements. Did you know that not everybody can use an element, but everybody has at least one?" He returned to his coffee as he said "That's how I know your elements."

Alex shook his head with a smile and just ordered a coffee. "Good to see the time away hasn't dulled your childlike enthusiasm." He joked, patting her on the head. He seemed genuinely happy now, with almost none of the coldness he had before. "Hello there," He said, following her to Mason. "Hope you don't mind us sitting here, she's pretty hard to refuse." As he sat down next to Nyx, he took a drink of his coffee, keeping one eye on Mason. "Wind and Fire huh? Not a bad combination."

Alexia Darkling appeared half a minute later carrying a thick folder. "Ah, Mayor Ellestine, Always a pleasure. Sorry I can't offer you anything right now, I'm in the middle of some rather sensitive research I should get back to as soon as I can. You know how it is, an intern can only look into a microscope for so long. If you'll just follow me I'll give you the rundown on the progress we've made." With the mayor in tow, she led the way down the 'Display Hall' where all the completed projects were displayed in glass walled labs.

As they passed each lab, she explained what it was. "This first project is from our Geological Chemistry Division. They were really excited, though I'm not sure how much help it will be against a zombie." As they watched, a strange device pointed at a chunk of iron started humming, and after a few moments the metal dissolved into a puddle. "The High Impulse Modular Frequency Directed Sound Emitter can be tuned to any solid, and uses sonic pulses do break down the bonds between the molecules. I know that's usually something that should be in the physics labs, but our GeoChem guys insist that anything having to do with matter is chemistry, and we just humor them." The next lab contained an actual zombie in a glass box. "This is our Organic Chemistry Division's project." Suddenly a spray of mist filled the box, and when they could see again all that was left was a pile of black powder. "Project 7, as our lazy OrChem namers call it, is a microbe mist that breaks down and eats any non carbon substance. As you can see, the only thing left of the zombie is a pile of carbon, which we can convert into burnable fuel."
