Right, I just googled it up, and the only other thing that seems to be capable of lifting 500 tons is a Truck about the size of my old school. And this is something that can be done at range, presumably.

Hence why I used the term, ludicrously extreme.
@Joegreenbeen: Well, I feel like you could easily expand on the personality and appearance aspect, because as it is, some things are rather vague, and he does feel a bit generic. I also feel like stock telekinesis is quite a bit overused, and there isn't much here that gives me the impression you're trying anything different. Not to mention, being able to lift 500 tons is just ludicrously extreme, and implies incredible amounts of force. That's just... really overpowered, without much make things interesting again.

I'm going to have to ask you to rewrite your CS. I can't approve it as it is.

@Epiphany: Well, if you do decide to join, go ahead. I'm not closing things anytime soon.

Hey Cid. I've finished my CS now, could you give it a look when you get a chance?

Give it a look? I have.

WeepingLiberty, you are Approved.
@Vordak: Well, if your power is manipulating carbon allotropes, thats actually really powerful on it's own considering Graphene alone is rather magical. But it also wouldn't be as OP as it seems, if you start to consider the limitations that even exotic materials have.

In short, it's an interesting idea when taken to down to something thats less than perfect. You're trying to justify a wide variety of powers with only one. Not inherently objectionable, but you will have to scale it back a little, on all counts. You wouldn't be invincible, merely hard to kill. Not incredibly strong, merely quite powerful. Not mundivorous, but with a very wide apetite. Perhaps you've already addressed some of these limits.

I just want you to convince me that you won't be no-selling anything that gets thrown at you. I'll reserve final judgement to when I see your CS.
Well, let's see.

@WeepingLiberty: If it fits your idea of the character better, by all means use the anime picture. Style would seem to work way better than strict realism here, to be honest. Other than that, It seems to be just fine, and anxiously wait for you to finish it. There's plenty of neat things to look forward to there already, that I only haven't accepted you yet because of the couple of missing things.

@Ninjadino: A slightly excentric Archaeologist? Quite fitting if you ask me. If I had to make any observations, is that perhaps you could go into further detail in many places, and that perhaps you focus on the archaeology aspect a bit too much, leaving him somewhat one-sided. Does he care about anything besides archaeology? Does he still work as a merchant on the side? Perhaps he's found some uses for his powers for something outside of combat. Little details are always great to see.

That said, it is a rather subjective idea, and I'm perfectly fine with the CS as is. Ninjadino, you are Accepted.

@LeeRoy: Now this is very nice. This is probably one of the few occasions a 92-year-old gunslinger dual-wielding handcannons makes perfect sense. However, there is one thing that makes me a little concerned.

The backstory, while not wholly out of place, is a bit dark with the whole rape bit. I'm not going to ask you to censor that, but rather keep in mind that this sort of thing can easily make things inappropriate in the future. It makes sense as backstory, but don't let things get much darker than that bit in the RP. What's more, that's the only objectionable bit, so go horse-killing and throat-slitting ahoy.

Yes, violence is fine. Beheadings, Impalement, and disembowelment can be gratuitous enough that it gets silly. In the proper dose, of course. The same can't be said of other things. LeeRoy, you are Approved.

@Everyone who will post tommorrow: Post Tommorrow. Errr today. My sleep schedule is all sorts of screwed up, but don't fret about not getting in in time. I'm not closing signups, at least, not for the foreseeable future. So feel free to do things at your own pace, and submit when you're ready.

There will be some delay in adding you all to the OOC, because I need to get some rest. The IC will be coming soonish, possibly Tuesday night at the very latest, barring serious problems.

Except making us wait FOREVER. >:c

Less then forever, considering the OOC is now up, pending some more finishing touches. Right here.

And with that, I anxiously await what you guys have in store.
Alright, welcome, first of all. What's this about? Well here's the post from the interest check to give you an idea.

What next? Lets go over the rules rather quickly.

Yeah, most of them are self-evident, but let's just put them out there for the sake of not being a totally arbitrary and fascist GM. Oh, not having misunderstandings. That too.

Now, Character Sheets:

Right. You probably want to hit "View raw" at the top of my post and copy this from there, unless you don't want to have the lackluster formatting or want to add your own. It doesn't really matter anyways.

NOTABLE THINGS AND PLACES AND PEOPLE AND OTHER EXPOSITORY MATERIAL STARTS HERE:

Count me in. Would a scavenger who tries to recover and use the secrets of the old world be possible?

Are cookies delicious?

WeepingLiberty said
Here have a virtual cookie. You look like you need it.

...

Please don't do this to your GM. I haven't done anything horrible to you guys. (Yet).

So what would safe powers be? Super strength, speed and the like? How about a form of echolocation? Useful to a scout of scavenger. Limited hazardous materials and radiation absorbtion? Useful for a scout going into some of the irradiated areas or toxic zones. I'm just trying to build an idea of what could be safe. As I'm trying to think up a character idea.

All of those are pretty good, actually. In fact, you're in the clear any time you aren't clearly trying to make a character that roflstomps everything. If you're really worried about making something OP, just run it past me via PM. If it actually would be boring, there likely something be something we can do to change that. c:

Wait- that powers thing could be interesting for some OP stuff that happens at inappropriate times. Like say, if my character has the power of blowing up anything but it has a two hour wait time and whatever you were pointing at is translate as you pointing to wherever you are after the two hours are up (You attempt to blow up a rock but get bored and go home so the wall that also points North like the rock is destroyed when the explosion time happens.)

YES, that'd sort of thing would definitely be common, and is absolutely encouraged, because it can lead to interesting situations and some very creative problem-solving later on. Say, if you were able to predict where you were going to be in two hours, you could point well in advance, and be able to blow up what you actually needed gone. Because of the precision required to pull it off, however, it could get very difficult for certain targets.

Now, given the rather decent amount of interest that I see, expect to see an OOC thread sometime within the next few days, either on saturday or sunday. Also, I try to answer all your questions as soon as I can, but may be delayed by some problems I've been having with my internet connection lately, so sorry about that.

The only answer that makes sense is 0%, because it's consistent with its own odds of selection.

If you actually add that to the list of answers though, then the odds of selecting that answer is not 0%, meaning it's still a wrong answer.

If you wanted to add a correct answer, then you'd instead add 20%, because the odds of picking that answer would indeed be 20%. Which is way cooler.

Genuine question; would it be possible to have two distinct, but still correct answers for this question?
