Academy 218 - Superhuman School (Always open)

Kristen simply smiled and nodded towards Shannon when she introduced herself. She was still nervous and feeling pressured. Deborah was nice enough to try and make her feel better, and it might have if it weren't for the fact that Kristen truly didn't see a single use for her ability in a combat zone like Deborah did apparently. Of course as long as she didn't get hurt and nothing affected her job Kristen guessed that it would be alright to give it a shot.

Then her face lit up when Jake appeared. Well those within range would definitely feel some affects now. She became so happy just from him showing up. All of her nervousness went away, and she felt a lot more comfortable. Now that Jake was around nothing would happen to her, and this meant she got to spend more time with him. Too bad Gabriela wasn't with them though. Kristen once more had to resist the urge to jump up and hug Jake, which one of these days she would probably just end up saying screw it and just do it. She mentally frowned though. Now she just wanted the whole thing to end so she could spend time alone with Jake and Gabriela so they could catch up. All good things in good time right? Then again she still had to talk to Adam and figure out what she could do. This day just wouldn't give her a break.

Stephen had made it most of the way to the fortress, but then his footsteps got loud. He sighed in response and just stopped outside of the main entrance to the middle section. Fine, if someone wanted to fuck with him then he'd just stand here and wait for whoever came this way and crush them. This had to be someone on his team though, no one else had such audible steps. So that meant someone was fcking with him. So that left two suspects. You had Amanda who wasn't really the type to do this, plus she'd run off to have fun. So that left Sylvia. Of course it could be someone else, but that was the most likely suspect, especially considering her personality. Plus she owed him one for fucking with her fun earlier, fine whatever. He put his hands in his pockets and started exerting the heat. The second someone walked out the middle onto their side the heat would hit them and Stephen would continue to eliminate the threat. Plus the longer it took the more he was deadly to them along with the air in the area. This should be fun indeed.

Kristen wasn't expecting anyone to come over to her, let alone try and get her involved. To make matters worse this girl seemed to actually know about her ability which worried her since she didn't want people knowing. As for looks the girl wasn't bad looking, just not good either, at least not for what Kristen was used to being around. Luckily this never mattered to her. Useful though? While yes Kristen was highly attractive, and blows the other girls here out of the water, that didn't mean the guys were just going to drop dead from her presence. As for her ability she didn't know much about it herself, but she didn't think it would be as good as this girl thought. Then again if her power did what she said it did, Deborah had a chance at knowing more than she did, especially since she was daring enough, or stupid enough, to get this close to Kristen willingly.

Kristen listened as the match began and then slowly reached out and grabbed Deborah's hand. "Fine...I don't think I'll be as useful as you think I'll be, but I'll give it a shot. One condition though...You can't tell anyone about my ability..." This was the most crucial thing. Good for Deborah! She figured out Kristen's power! That didn't give her the right to just spread it around when that was clearly something that would affect her socially. On the other hand did this make Deborah a friend? Or just someone that wanted to win? Either one could be a reason for why Deborah got close. Kristen hoped she'd made another friend, but given the circumstances she wasn't going to hold her breath. This girl was evil though...Dragging Gabriela and Jake into this was low. Not needed either. Now Kristen actually wanted to do something and felt pressure and since she already felt like she couldn't do any good she felt nervous again. Still happy, but very nervous.

Stephen let a dark grin cross his lips as the recording counted down. He slowly pushed off the wall and popped his neck. It was time to begin. As he began walking towards the center Sylvia decided to give them all some music to listen to. Too loud, yes. Though the beat was exactly what he needed. As he walked his body was already warming up, and by the time any enemies engaged with him in combat, he would be ready to leave some nice burn scars. Then there was the heat he was planning on releasing into the air all at once. That would suck to be whoever the chump is that gets caught up in that. Once the lights went out though that just helped him further. Not a lot of people could see in the dark, and since he didn't see at all he would be just fine. Because of Sylvia's music though, Stephen didn't hear the lights go out and obviously he couldn't see that so he had no idea. To him those who struggled because of the lack of light would just seem even more pathetic than usual to him.

Stephen has nothing to do till it starts and Kristen really doesn't until it's over unless someone tries to get her involved one way or another.

Kristen was relieved that Adam didn't make her do anything. In fact he seemed embarrassed and that caused Kristen to giggle as she skipped off when he went to help someone else. She just relaxed a little while she waited for capture the flag. Once everyone was gathered for that though she only got happier when she was told that she would be with Jake and Gabriela, but then she was a little shocked to hear a third Valos. Jaska? Kristen just shrugged. Just another friend! When she got to there side though she wanted to enjoy the view so she quickly found her way to the second floor of there building and sat on the window sill kicking her feet and hummed a lullaby just because she was in a really good mood.

As she hummed she looked across at the fortress. The view wasn't exactly beautiful, but she could definitely appreciate the work of art that it was. What she was curious about was how this place would look after the game because surely there were some pretty destructive people around here that would do some heavy damage to the area around them. If she could get away with it Kristen would probably sit up here as long as possibly. At least until someone decided to kill her perfect little world up in the window. She looked down at her team for a little bit and wondered if they could actually win this. They did have Jake and Gabriela so it was highly possible.

Stephen smirked whenever Amanda tried to brag about mimicking his power. He wondered how long her system would tolerate the higher metabolism without her treating it right. Plus the vision wasn't something you just gained in a second so he doubted she got that part of it since that took him almost a year to develop and he was only able to because he had been injured and forced into blindness. Which also meant she'd still be affected by the mirages like he would if he could see which should be interesting to observe. Of course that's if she used his power at all. In any case he'd have to fight her in hand to hand next time they fought.

Stephen sighed when he heard his team. Of couse he got stuck with Amanda and Sylvia. Obviously their feelings towards him wouldn't be changing anytime soon so why should he have to deal with people that were likely to stab him in the back for shits and giggles? In any case that's how it was, as for a plan though, well he'd likely just walk out there and engage the enemy and just prolong a fight with them to stall until his team could win the game. Given all the different talents his team possessed and the only hot shot the other team had was Valjean, it was safe to say this game was already decided.

In turn Stephen was just leaning against the wall of their own base waiting for the game to start so that he could crush the enemy and win this. Honestly he might need to ask Adam for help on working on a theory he was having for his own ability, but seriously. This IS a competition. If you're not playing to win then you aren't trying enough. Crush those who get in the way without mercy, that's how things are in the world, why should it be any different here?

I was thinking about doing a similar power. The trick is altering other peoples sense of time through some means which slows there perception of time down or stopped altogether, thus causing you to go faster in there mind since you are still going at a regular pace and not their perceived slower time, or if you halt their time for a short amount of time, it would appear as though you disappeared and reappeared somewhere else, though stopping someones perceptions is difficult, so it's actually be like to the extreme of the first one still causing them to think you disappeared.

Edit: I left out some details on this but it's a lot easier to describe verbally so if you have questions just call me on skype because I can get into more detail. As for speeding up time and stuff like that in perception well that still won't speed up the body, in fact you'd get frustrated at how pathetically slow your body was moving since it couldn't keep up with your mind.

Stephen gave Amanda a dark grin as she tried to close in. The good thing about not being able to see was that he saw in his way, which means nothing was hidden to him right now. The hands were a nice touch, but did she not realize that he wasn't limited to sight? Well she'd learn quickly enough when he didn't even bother looking at her after awhile, but as for now he'd let her believe he could see. Stephen just waited for her to get close before he would roll to the side putting some extra distance between him and those hands, and avoiding her, plus to top of this wonderful baking cake he increased the output of thermal energy in all directions, but focused most of it in Amanda's direction. He'd come up from his roll back in his stance waiting for her to try and hit him just letting the heat work it's magic, and on the even brighter side of things it was already getting to a point that Amanda would get minor burns from touching him with her bare skin, so things were progressing nicely.

As for Sylvia, he wondered if she was able to tell the general idea of what was happening. She would also be feeling the heat as it intensified and would suffer from it, and hopefully she would get a better idea of who he was. She might call him a chuckle fuck, and that's fine. He could care less, but he at least wanted her to get the general idea of who he was, and afterwords if that's what she chose to stick with then so be it. It's not like he's a big fan of hers anyway. Though he'd rather make allies instead of enemies. He also reminded himself that he should grab another chocolate bar after this fight was over.

Kristen blushed so fast and such a deep red that there was no hiding it from Adam, or anyone else who could see her face at that time. There was no way she could demonstrate that for him! "Um...Well..." She wasn't sure she wanted to tell Adam the fact that it was through kissing someone, that part she left out for a reason, but what choice did she have? "I don't know if I can demonstrate it really..." She could no longer make eye contact with Adam. This was a little embarrassing to say the least. "The only way I know how...And possibly the only way...Well um...It's...It's by kissing the person I'm helping." She could feel her face burning from how much she was blushing. Most people would either try and get her to kiss them with this knowledge, or laugh at her for the idea. What made this situation worse was how Adam might react. She needed his help there was no denying that, but without an example how could he...? She was a little scared to know how this was going to work.

Kristen tilted her head slightly while looking at Adam for a second as he told her what he knew. What he said made sense, but at the same time she wasn't sure if he knew about how she is able to heal people, of course she didn't recall telling anyone about that, so obviously there wasn't really a way for him to know, then again who knows maybe he did? She looked around again hoping no one could hear her still. "What about the fact that I can help people heal faster? That has nothing to do with emotions..." When she thought about it she didn't know why she was hoping Adam would have all the answers. He was a high level teacher, no doubt, but when it came to being all knowing that was another topic. After all he wasn't a god.

Kristen played a little with her hair while she was talking with Adam. All of the nervousness had finally left her now that she was up here talking to Adam and all that was left was an unending amount of curiosity, and happiness. Perhaps Adam would hold all the answers, and if not she was positive that Adam would be happy to help her figure it out! Then after all of this she would spend some time with Gabriela and Jake! Ths was turning out to be a fantastic afternoon! Though there was the capture the flag game she would rather not deal with, but who knows maybe that could be a lot of fun! She wasn't sure what she could do for that, but only time will tell right?

Stephen slipped a hand into his side pocket on his pants and produced a chocolate bar and began eating it as he slowly walked over to stand across from Amanda. He consumed it pretty fast finishing it by the time Amanda had just finished up her stretches. As she punched the ground he reached into his other side pocket and produced a water bottle and just slowly uncapped it. She was definitely an interesting one. Before he did anything else his body began releasing thermal energy. He took a long gulp of water as she spoke. He kept drinking without pause as she suggested he go first, of course the heat would probably reach her as she finished speaking or seconds later. he threw the bottle to the side and increased the heat output in all directions. In the end it would probably reach Sylvia soon as well. He smirked. and thought to himself. 'Good luck watching us clearly Sylvia...' In the end she would just see the mirages and not get a clear picture of any of this fight of course that wouldn't take affect quite yet.

Stephen slowly swept his right leg behind his left and bent his knees slightly as he raised his left hand in front of him bending the elbow and leaving the hand open and relaxed. His right hand open at his side but ready to move in an instant. "I'd hate to be rude, the lady should always go first." As he said this the heat would only continue to spread and intensify, not too terribly bad, but enough for some side affects to be taking place, of course that also differed based off of the victims physical condition among other things so there was no telling what was happening to Amanda with the short exposure at this point, but in any case this should be fun. And if she kept arguing this would only get easier for him so the longer he stalled the better.
