Full name: Mobius
Brief Bio: In the distant Nebula M-87, known to its inhabitants as the Land of Light, there resides an enormous structure of crystal and alien metals. This is the Ultra Garrison, an ancient and eternal citadel that serves as the base of the Ultramen, a race of aliens distantly related to the Tokustar in the same way humans are related to bears.

The Ultra Garrison is a sort of precursor to the Green Lantern Corps, serving to protect the universe from tremendous threats- be they eldritch horrors, the tremendous wildlife of M-87, Trigonic Fiends, or Galactus himself. They have stood their vigil for as long as most civilizations can remember, led by the Father and Mother of Ultra.

Mobius is a recent recruit into the Space Rangers, the Ultra Garrison's field agents. He has floundered through basic training, but managed to pass. The Father of Ultra, however, decided that he is still lacking in certain qualities that anyone bearing the title of Ultraman must possess. In order to prove himself worthy of the Ultraman title, Mobius has been assigned to shadow Earth's young heroes and learn from their example.

Abilities:



Personality: Ultras are allowed to choose their own soldier names- Mobius' friends Max and Galaxy named themselves for their potential and love of the stars respectively. Mobius chose his name because of the Mobius Strip. He's not quite sure why the strange shape appeals to him, but he finds it striking. As for behavior, Mobius is quite awkward. He's only been on Earth for a few days and is still getting the hang of the finer points of his human body's anatomy, and is honestly floored by human society and its lack of structure compared to the Ultra Garrison.

Appearance: Mobius's actual appearance, and his human form. The jacket is from a team of operatives called "GUTS" who have taken to supporting Ultraman Tiga. It's insulated for high-atmosphere travel, but Mobius seldom takes it off- Earth is freezing cold, after all.

"Oh, that's easy!" Evahld said, hoisting the golden dragon's head from beneath a pile of bones. "HUP! Women, children, and medics first. Keep the wizards and priests on the boat to keep it afloat as long as possible, use cargo as boats, make offerings and prayers to whatever god of the sea holds sway locally- Poseidon's usually a safe bet."

He dusted off the skull, turning it over in his arms.

"If it comes to a choice where you MUST decide who lives and who dies... Keep considering your options. Never settle for anything less than saving everyone until the last second." Evahld set the head down, turning to face Takatora, "When Jule Nissen the Solstice Gnome- actually, I don't know if he exists in your planes, but he's this jolly old man who goes around on the night of the Winter Solstice giving presents to all the good boys and girls. Anyway, one day, some Neanderthals came out from the network of ice caves beneath the north pole and started to menace him. Well, we happened to be visiting my family in Jotsplat- Wellingsley doesn't get on with his parents, you see- so we heard the news first. Well, by Kord, I wasn't letting anyone go without the food he brings to the poor, or the smiles of children when they see those toys! So we headed to the north pole by one of the Jotsplat whaling vessels. Long story short, the Neanderthals were trying to use the sleigh to travel over the world and kidnap our women to save their species. We just told them about the Neanderthals living with us Ice Barbarians and they let him go, decided to hit up the village. Even started working in the whaler's shop as scrimshawers! What I'm saying is... you can find the best solution if you look hard enough."

Evahld turned to Sorin's back, glaring.

"And as for you, ergi- I was the first mortal to successfully argue multiple clients out of a Faustian pact in an Infernal court of law. I have stood against dragons, demons, devils, armies, demiliches, gods, things from beyond the birth of creation, things from beyond its death, twistings of the universe's laws that seemed to have no purpose but to spit in my face. I did not choose to do these things because they were easy. I did all of those things because they were RIGHT. The path of good is not an easy one to walk. But anyone with a shred of decency won't let that stop them from trying."

Evahld took a chunk of heavily salted seal meat out of his Bag of Holding and offered it to Takatora with a friendly smile.

"Besides... if the world casts you out, fight so that it might realize you have earned your place. If a monster comes that's stronger than the last, get a better axe. If that doesn't work, start punching it! Sorin may be ergi, but I'll fight on, no matter what comes my way- THAT is what it means to be a Totemist of the Ice Barbarians! He may have some bullshit metaphorical unbreakable shield of truth... but the strength of the righteous can pierce any wall that evil cowers behind."
Evahld began laughing wildly, pointing at Vash. The viking was obviously amused.

"HOHOHOH!, I've heard less sanctimonious crap from Pal... no, no! PALADINS know that sometimes you've got to slay a dragon! Or slay the rapelord of the 37 hells! Or stop an insane cult from developing a spell which will kill all men across all the planes. You're welcome for that last one by the way." Evahld wiped a tear from his eye, still chuckling. "It seems you're from a world that allows such naivete. But, regardless, as is the custom of my people, I'm taking its skull as a trophy, that all might see the majesty of the world. Oh well, hoard looting!" Evahld shouted, grabbing the four smallest swords. "I bet if I use the Girallon arms I can use all of these at once! ...ah, how rude of me!"

Evahld took out a number of oddly-shaped dice made of bone.

"The other Half-Price Heroes and I would roll for loot. Does anyone contest my claim to the skull and small swords?"

  • Personality: Keiji is a calm, caring grandfather. Well, when he's not putting his granddaughter through a training regimen composed of "feeding kitties while balancing a bucket of water on your head," "get a feather from that bird," and "catch that fish without a rod or net." Granted, the "kitties" in question are tiger cubs, the "bird" in question is a skittish parrot, and the "fish" is a barracuda, but he knows his granddaughter can handle it. She's HIS granddaughter, after all. Besides- he's made sure they won't actually HURT her. He just wants to make sure she grows up able to protect herself from whatever life throws her way. Oddly, he seems genuinely uneasy about the monsters.

  • History: Keiji runs his family's ancestral dojo, having inherited the position from his father after he retired and moved to Okinawa. Keiji's family says he was involved in law enforcement, but Kitashirakawa's police department doesn't have any record of his service. They DO, however, say that he's helped with several investigations as an expert witness on animal welfare, and have designated his dojo an animal sanctuary. Exotic animals often end up there when zoos don't have the means to care for them.

  • Powers: He's an experienced martial artist, and knows how to create incredibly grueling training regimens from everyday tasks. He also has a surprising affinity for animals.



And now the question I should have probably asked... who wants a martial artist grandpa?
Evahld took a stance directly in the flight path of the dragon. The clawed boots returned, crackling with ice as he drew back his foot and prepared to kick the dragon in the jaw as it approached. This, of course, was before Vash intervened. He sighed, stood up, ready to take the dragon's attack in full. He was, of course, nearly immortal... but if people knew that it would really hurt his point.

In the lot where quarry workers ate their lunches, a strange monster held a foreman above his head. Equal parts bat, spider, and humanoid, it clutched at the worker's throat, grabbing his hard hat and tossing it aside.

"Wh-what do you wa-"

<<"Cram it, human! Stop screaming gibberish and answer me: where is that asshat RACER KING?!">>

"Th... the hell are you saying?"

<<"I... ugh.">> The monster growled, tossing the foreman into a plastic table. It began advancing, crushing a plastic chair between its hands as it reached down to pick him up. Then, however, a voice piped up from behind him.

<<"You... do know he probably doesn't speak Japanese, right?">>

The monster dropped the foreman, who scrambled away, and turned to face the source of the voice. A man in a grey suit, with a large silver belt. <<"Ah, good... someone who's smart enough to stop screaming gibberish! Now, I don't know what kind of ass-backwards society this is that you're living in the middle of a field of rocks, and I don't care. Just tell me where this 'Racer King' is, and I might only eat PART of you! GAHAHAHA!">>

The man tilted his head. <<"Hey, it's Spider-Bat, right? Aren't you supposed to be doing ten to twenty in Kasoku Penitentiary? You're eligible for parole soon, but this doesn't look good. I might be able to help, if you care to offer an explanation for one, how and why you broke out, two, how and why you're in America, and three, why you've forgotten the guy who arrested you?">>

The monster pointed to him. <<"Okay, first: I'm not Private Spider-Bat, I'm his brother in law, Brigadier Bat-Spider! You humans have taken him as a prisoner of war! Second, what the flying fuck is an America?! And third... wait...">> The monster's eyes- all eight of them- grew wide with fury. <<"YOU! You're the one who arrested him! That means...">>

A third, artificial voice joined the conversation. <<"Took you long enough! First, yes! This is Tendo Godai, Racer King! Second, yes! Your brother was imprisoned after he stood trial for his crimes. Oddly enough, he's been a model prisoner... But getting back on track, third: You're under arrest!">>

<<"GAHAHAHA... We'll see about that...">> Bat-Spider said, thrusting his arm forward and tossing a few of the plastic chairs at the policeman. <<"Supermass Zone! Condense!">>

The gravity of the area pulled harder and harder as time slowed to a crawl, but Tendo stood up as best he could. <<"Mr. Belt, add resisting arrest to the list of charges. Fire up...">> The artificial voice and the suited man's united. <<"IGNITION! Racer suit, Accelerate!">> A heavy gust of wind and the crack of a sonicboom accompanied the suit appearing around Tendo. <<"It only takes about one nanosecond to complete the acceleration process... but I'm not going to bore you with the details!>>

With that, Racer King began advancing on Brigadier Bat-Spider, knocking the flying chairs aside. <<"Brigadier Bat-Spider! You are under arrest! The charges: Entering a country without a duly notarized passport! Intimidation! Destruction of private property! Interrupting the operations of-">> at this, a blast of webbing landed right across the racer suit's faceplate.

<<"Like I care! My brother in law might be the kind of guy who just picks stuff that spooks wherever we're invading, but I've done my homework! I know JUST how strong and sticky a spider's web is... perfect for dealing with a speedy asshat like you!">>

Name: Tendo Godai, AKA "Racer King"
Age: 25

Gender: Male

Appearance: Tendo is your typical Japanese male. Dark hair cut short, usually wearing a decent suit, as he IS a cop. On his off time, he wears t-shirts and shorts, since jeans tend to chafe at super speed.

Personality: Tendo, first and foremost, wants to help people. Though he may seem kind of distant, he's actually just easily distracted when not investigating. He's easily bored since he usually experiences time at 60x the normal rate. Thankfully, his fancy belt keeps him company, as it contains an advanced military AI that can store enough Velocity Power to temporarily return his perceptions to normal.

Skills: Firearms training, authorized to make arrests, police detective.

Abilities: Tendo's only abilities out of suit are super speed and the fact he percieves time at an accelerated rate. This means a second becomes a minute, a minute becomes an hour, so on and so forth. While this makes him seem aloof and distant, it also makes him the perfect choice to fight creatures in Supermass Zones where time stands still. His super speed does not come with enhanced strength or resistance to friction and impacts, however- using it is extremely dangerous. At high speeds, grains of sand in the air become a field of razors ready to tear him to shreds.

Enter the Racer Suit. This suit of armor, fired out of a particle accelerator straight at his position, is made of spacecraft parts, allowing it to withstand speeds even greater than Tendo's. By combining his natural speed with the protection of the Racer Suit, Tendo can fight Massiveroids on equal footing, inside Supermass Zones or out. In addition, the on-board AI in his belt can have the accelerator deliver tools to suit the situation at hand.

Equipment: Mr. Belt, a military-grade AI and his transformation device. Also has three weapons stashed at the subatomic level that Mr. Belt can grow to usable size- the Mach Magnum (a gun firing nonlethal foam rounds), Drive Shaft (a quarterstaff), Rush Riot (a riot shield, not much to write home about), and Volt Knuckle (a set of knuckles that convert the force of his blows into electrical charge). Most importantly, he has his badge.

Brief (HA!) Backstory: Once upon a time, Tendo was a rookie policeman in Kasoku City, home of Japan's largest physics lab. He joined the force with bright eyes, hoping to make a difference in the lives of others and make his hometown a better place. But when responding to a call at the Kasoku City physics lab, he came across a startling discovery- the culprit wasn't a human, but some kind of monster! A semi-humanoid figure, composed of equal parts bat and spider, was roughing up one of the scientists at the lab. Tendo took out his badge and shouted that the monster was under arrest... only for him to find himself inside a long metal corridor, the monster behind a window and laughing as it flipped a switch. This was the Kasoku particle accelerator, the largest in Japan, and he was trapped inside it! Bombarded with strange particles, he struggled at the door to the accelerator. That monster was still out there menacing the scientist. Eventually, he gave up on breaking the door... and made a running jump for the window. He didn't think it would work. But, then, he didn't think he'd suddenly shoot forward with a sonic boom.

Time moved slowly as he sailed through the bulletproof glass towards the startled monster, shattered glass floating slowly in midair. Blood from the obvious consequences of jumping through a window at supersonic speeds. The monster held his hand toward Tendo... and it stopped. The glass, the blood. But he kept sailing towards the monster. The monster began to panic, thrusting its arm forward again and again. He didn't know what it was trying to do, but Tendo connected and tackled the beast through a wall. Stunned, bleeding out, and panicking, Tendo collapsed. The monster, for some reason, ran away.

Over the next few days in the hospital, Tendo found that things were still absurdly slow. Nurses and doctors sounded like they were taking hours to have minute-long conversations. He got stressed, snapped at his family a bit, and felt bad about it. But later, was surprised that he had another visitor- the scientist from last night, a fairly pretty woman who gave her name as Dr. Rokuko. Amazingly, she was communicating with him at a normal rate! She explained that his time in the particle accelerator had exposed him to Velocity Power, particles of pure kinetic energy. But that was not the important part. She revealed that her labs had discovered that some atoms contained entire universes through long experimentation. After attempting to contact one of those universes, monsters began invading. These strange creatures, dubbed "Massiveroids" are capable of traversing atomic levels and invading foreign universes through something they call "Chikara Power." Their name comes from their startling ability- they can manipulate their own mass, causing space and time to warp! They use this power to reach out and conquer all they see before them. However, with their ability to warp space and time, it is impossible to strike against them... unless you have enough Velocity Power to unstick yourself from time. While the lab had been able to create a few particles of the strange force, it seemed that Tendo's body now naturally produced Velocity Power.

From downstairs, there was a commotion- the monster from earlier was roughing up the lobby. Though he was still wounded, and a doctor tried to stop him, he wasn't letting that thing hurt more people. Still in his hospital gown, he grabbed an IV rack and ran downstairs... Only to find out the dusty stairwells really hurt. He burst through a door, skidding to a stop before the monster. And then... it spoke.

"Ah... there you are! You really messed up our plans last night, man... but in the end, Spider-Bat always wins!"

Tendo tried to reply, but... well, super speed. "YoukeeptalkingbutallIhearisblahblahblahgodI'mugly."

"I... uh... what?" The monster muttered, scratching his head, before shrugging and throwing a chair at Tendo, who dived under it and jumped to try and put the beast in a chokehold. The monster thrust its hand forward again, and the chair stopped shortly before the creature threw Tendo through it. The monster slowly advancing on him, Tendo heard a shout from the stairs. Dr. Rokuko had... a big belt buckle? Whatever it was, it was currently floating lazily towards his head. But, given that this resembled a scene that was in a lot of TV shows from when he was a kid, Tendo ran up and grabbed the device, putting it on. A belt appeared around his waist... and a third voice joined the little conversation as a thumbs up and accelerator appeared on the belt in quick succession. The accelerator began spinning around like a clock winding down.

"Wowowow! That's a lotta Velocity Power, buddy! It's got me all fired up!"

"Okay, what the hell is going on?! Talking belts, superatomic universes, time's being weird for me, and... and..."

A question mark, followed by an exclamation point, appeared on the belt's display. "Still lagging behind, eh? That's alright, let me bring you up to speed! That is a Massiveroid, an evil invader from a superatomic universe! I am Mr. Belt, a military AI who'll be handling your equipment! And, as soon as you get Fired Up, you'll be Racer King- the hero who can fight the Massiveroids!"

"Fired Up? What does that even..."

The monster stomped the ground angrily, grabbing another chair and tossing it. "HEY! Are you ignoring me?!"

The belt piped up as Tendo was knocked backwards by the flying chair. "I'll explain later, but for now, just shout 'Fire Up' and do what a hero always does- protect people!"

"...Alright, Mr. Belt, but we're having a long conversation after this! FIRE UP!" Tendo shouted, throwing his arms back and punching the air in front of him.

"IGNITION! Racer Suit, Accelerate!" Mr. Belt shouted. In the physics lab, the particle accelerator roared to life, and a red suit launched through the walls at speeds great enough to pass through matter. Back in the hospital, Tendo felt a gust of powerful wind as a heavy suit of armor appeared around him.

"I... Velocity Power... Just who are you?!" The monster shouted, now wielding two chairs.

"Man, you're slow on the uptake! Mr. Belt, bring 'em up to speed."

"I hate to repeat myself, but he IS lagging behind... So! To recap: I am Mr. Belt, a Military AI! This is Racer King, a man with enough velocity power to move through a Supermass Zone! And you're going downtown!"

"Oh, I know this part," Tendo said, smiling under the helmet as he rushed forward, kicking the monster's shin.
"You are under arrest!" he rushed away, as the monster tossed a chair.
"The charges are-" catching the chair, winging it around to hit the monster in the face.
"-breaking and entering into the Kasoku City Physics Labratory!" he shouted with a a running punch to the gut.
"Two counts of attempted murder!" a kick to the chest.
"Assaulting an officer of the law!" a kick to the stomach.
"Destruction of public property!" And finally, a kick to the groin, causing the monster to crumple over.
"You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law. You have the right to hire an attorney. If you cannot afford one, one will be appointed by the court..."

That was the start of Tendo's life as Racer King. He now works as part of the Kasoku City PD's Special Crimes Unit, dealing with supervillains, ancient empires from beneath the earth's crust, and freaky cults in addition to typical crooks. He's also one of the more recent members of Choriki Action, serving as an arresting officer and resident speedster.
SCIENTISTS THEORIZE THAT UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS, AN ATOM MAY CONTAIN AN ENTIRE UNIVERSE!
ONE DAY, FROM SUCH A SUPERATOMIC UNIVERSE IN A LAB SAMPLE OF UNUNOCTIUM, THE MASSIVEROIDS STRUCK OUT, SEEKING TO CONQUER EARTH!

Evahld rushed forward, preparing to unleash a rain of punches with his four arms. While this would normally be a bad idea, the concept of Punishing Stance would turn it around- by making himself more vulnerable to attacks, the adrenaline rush would make his punches harder and faster. Combined with the Mountain Hammer technique... Well, this was certainly going to hurt SOMETHING, given that he'd once punched clean through a tree with this combination. Finally having psyched himself up, he charged even faster, already swinging the two spectral arms and their sharp claws.

"I AM EVAHLD, SON OF NIEL! AND KNOW THIS, WYVERN- YOUR HEAD SHALL DECORATE MY LODGE!"
