Stardust Vale- Tarkutt

Tarkutt glanced up tiredly from his work to look at Rose. "Er...yes, yes, I'm alright." He couldn't help but watch his fellow shaman retreat toward the pack's Betas, his eyes flicking to the pale fur now stained with blood. He let out a soft huff of worry; it was certain she needed treatment but could he afford to leave Artemis' side? He furrowed his brow and checked the heavily-injured hunter's heart and breathing, deciding that now would be the time to fully analyze the injuries and draw some conclusions.
There will be scarring, possibly extensive. But there's a chance that her fur will grow back over it. She'll take a while to recover her ability to walk, but that can likely be sped up. The biggest problem is her blood loss; maybe eating something will help her body make more.
"Is there any food stored here?" he asked Blynn nervously. "I want her to eat as much as she can once she's fully awake."

Winter's Moon- Yehki

Yehki couldn't do much but sit and pout; she wasn't one of the more important wolves here. She moodily observed the packs making decisions together, reminded herself that this was for the better, and got up. Maybe she'd just waltz into conversations, maybe she'd show the newcomers to their temporary dens. Her oversized paws made their way uncertainly through the area as she listened in on snippets of talk.
I most likely won't be able to post today or tomorrow due to the internet at (one) home having been shut off, but I'll try to get something done on Friday. Assuming there are other replies by then.
Stardust Vale Pack- Tarkutt

Tarkutt was startled when Rose had spoken to the other pack's shaman; he lowered his head in slight wariness and shyness. However, he nodded in agreement with Rose; he still feared that Artemis' condition was severe. Through the whole introduction, he didn't step very far from the bark stretcher, and he gave a short nod at the order to assist in caring for his injured packmate. He spread his remaining herbs across the snow and started cleaning her wounds more thoroughly than last time, as well as checking to see whether her stitches were holding. "Hmm," he grumbled thoughtfully.
He heard the injured hunter whimper his name, telling him not to leave her alone. He could certainly sympathize; he wasn't entirely comfortable around any of the Winter's Moon Pack and if Artemis wasn't at risk of dying he'd be scared of her too (he always had been before the forced eviction). He paused to give her a comforting lick on the ear, then spoke as he worked on her wounds. "No one here is going to hurt you. You're safe now, and here you can rest and eat until you're well again. I promise." He offered a reassuring smile, which was something of a rare sight to see from him.
Hey we both have "deal with it" sigs! c:

Tarkutt jumped out of his skin seeing Bane return. Hurriedly, he snatched his herbs from the ground, shook the snow off of them, and trotted after them. He walked alongside Artemis' makeshift stretcher, bending his neck down to sniff at her wounds and stitches. So far they seemed to be holding up alright, so he gave a nervous nod, mostly to reassure himself. His gait was stiff-legged, his hackles straight in the air like he'd been struck by lightning and his tail stuck straight out behind him. Quickly he realized this and lowered his tail, trying to lower the fur on his back.
When he saw the Alpha of the other pack, he instinctively lowered his ears and averted his gaze. Although the sight of Farkas sent a tiny shiver of fear and distrust through Tarkutt, he gave a small, respectful bow. "You are incredibly kind and I thank you," he said, almost too quietly to be heard, his voice shaking only slightly. He seemed to be on a social roll today.

Winter's Moon- Yehki

Yehki shrank back at the sight of the Stardust Vale pack, but she couldn't help feeling pity for them, upon seeing their wounds-- especially the wolf who appeared to be unconscious and had been dragged here on a slab of tree bark. Now she felt a little scared, but no, she wouldn't show it. She flicked her ears to catch every sound the other pack uttered.
this thread seems to have guaranteed me a spot in the witness protection program
I could not think of a better way to die than to drown in kitties
Stardust Vale- Tarkutt

Tarkutt had finished his hasty treatment of the rest of the injured pack-members, and then he nearly jumped out of his skin. He could feel his pelt crawling with fear at the nearby howling that had sprung up. His hackles prickled up steadily to make the scrawny wolf look twice his size. Cowering slightly, he put a paw to Artemis's forehead. He let out a whimper and stepped back, she felt feverish. Gently he scraped some more snow to melt in front of her muzzle. "Drink some water," he said softly. "Hopefully we can get you some food soon." Part of him wanted to chastise the hunter for getting herself so horribly injured, but he reminded himself that it was in her nature, then sat down and returned to his worrying.

Winter's Moon- Yehki

Yehki growled softly, she wasn't at all happy with the idea of sharing territory with an entire pack of strangers. More than being (for the most part) displeased, though, she was surprised at what had happened. What were the odds of Shadow's sister belonging to this other pack? But she had no argument against serving family, so she listened quietly to Farkas, hesitated, and joined the howl. He was the leader; she trusted him and his decisions.

Tarkutt nodded shakily at Bane's reply, he got up again and swished his tail out behind him, pretending it didn't hurt. He quickly trotted toward Artemis, nudging her muzzle in concern. "Try not to speak unless you need to," he advised gently. He picked a bit of clean snow from the ground and set it in front of the injured wolf. "It's not much, but wait for it to melt in your mouth if you're thirsty. When everything's sorted out--" he said this with a nervous gulp-- "I'll scrounge up some herbs that should numb up your wounds." On the bright side, if the Winter's Moon Pack didn't turn aggressive, Tarkutt was assured now that Artemis would most likely survive her wounds. He trotted toward the other members of the pack and started to tend to them; having something to do seemed to have a calming affect on him.

Winter's Moon- Yehki

Yehki continued to listen, uncertain of her stance on the issue. She pounded her front paws into the powdery snow as she had nothing else to do while she waited. What if it was a lie? She felt her teeth starting to show again. Her muscles were so tense they hurt, and she paced another couple times in a circle before stopping and looking at the strangers again.
"As long as you don't expect us to feed you," she grumbled rudely. When she realized she'd said this louder than she meant to, she sat back tensely and looked away, hoping to look as if she hadn't growled those words.
Good call. I shall wait with you.
