Eva was nearly skipping, so excited was she. The castle that loomed ahead was beautiful, but in her humble opinion not as much as the Arctic Ocean, and she very much looked forward to meeting the other students. She hobbled forward toward a small crowd, a huge backpack obviously designed for outdoor adventures weighing her down. She waved enthusiastically at Jack and the girls. "Hi!" she called.
Absolutely! It's us against the land lovers.
Indeed! Sorry if I seem like a copycat, I didn't see your bio until after I posted.
Name: Eva Spencer Age: 17 Gender: Female Species: Selkie Appearance: Personality: Friendly and playful, often smiling, very positive and optimistic. Likes making friends, outgoing. Honest, maybe a bit too trusting. She loves dogs and swimming, especially in cold deep water. Her favorite food is any kind of fish. She's not easily frightened, instead she's curious. Loves the outdoors, especially tundras and oceans, and watching wildlife. Bio: Her mother is Inuit and the reason she's a selkie. Her father is a Canadian researcher. She was always a very strong swimmer but didn't know she was a selkie until her mother told her on her 13th birthday and demonstrated by turning into a seal in front of her. Eva was thrilled. Her father never found out about either of them being selkies. Anything Else: She can hold her breath for about an hour without ill effect and dive in near-freezing water while feeling perfectly toasty.

Name: Temple Dusk Age: 18 Bio: It was clear from about the age of 7 that Temple was a little strange, but not until she was 13 that she actually used her power and was taken into the observation center. In school she rarely did well in group activities simply because she just so rarely talked. She was usually assumed to have some kind of selective mutism, but during her teenage years she started to talk more, although her voice was always very soft and she still prefers to be silent. Personality: Observant and curious. Most often when she does speak, she's asking a question. She loves nature above most other things, feeling very in tune and connected with it and often longing to spend more time in whatever quiet woods are the nearest. She has a bit of a tendency to stare as if trying to pry all the secrets out of someone. Likes hearing other people tell stories. Most of the time when she "makes friends" it is just her deciding that she likes a person and isn't necessarily mutual. When she's angry, she usually gives the cold shoulder. Powers: Astral projection (if that's okay). It does send her into a sleeplike trance, though, making her vulnerable when using it. Appearance:
Aubrey hesitated. "It's like a factory farm," she said softly. Pity and dread weighed down on her, but it wouldn't help the girl to keep the truth from her. "They want our livers. They cut part of it out, wait for it to grow back and then 'harvest' us again." She considered sitting, but the grated floor looked particularly nasty here, so instead she glanced around. No one had a dart aimed at her. Yet. "I am sorry. Perhaps...we could form a team," she said, her voice dropping to a whisper. "Form a plan. Try to escape. Won't be easy, though." She pinched her nose, took a bite out of the sickening cut of meat and forced it down. Although Rey was determined not to show it, he was certainly taken aback by the appearance of the man who'd approached him with a whiteboard. Relieved for the reason to look away from his face--he didn't want to be rude and stare--he read the text. New? it asked. He nodded sheepishly, feeling embarrassed despite himself. "Sorry, sir. My supervisor warned me, but...wow. How do you manage?"
Interested.
The sound of a scream turned Aubrey's head, and she caught a glimpse of a person running behind another screen, and snatching a disgusting-looking chunk of meat, she headed towards it. She blew a tangled lock of hair out of her face and peeked behind the screen, biting into her breakfast. She eyed her silently for about a minute, not sure what to say or even whether to bother with the young woman. She couldn't help the pity she felt, but at the same time, she was uncertain if she could trust anyone here. "Hey," she said. Her voice cracked; it had been a while since she used it. "Sorry you ended up here. Can't help, but...yeah." She glanced up somewhere and bit her dry lip. Soon they'd come for her. Soon there'd be a mask keeping her teeth from someone's neck again and an IV pumping her full of drugs. Rey had been sent toward Main Holding to round up the werewolves who were "due". He was to take them into individual surgical cells, restraining and sedating them if need be, and then he was to watch a more experienced employee remove the liver. The door didn't look very imposing. He pushed it open... ...and immediately pinched his nose shut while wrinkling his face in utter disgust. "Gah!" he grunted, and then braced himself before un-pinching his nose. He glanced down and made sure he was recording, but wished he could record the simply repellent scent of the place. He gulped and blinked. The stink had made his eyes water, but now it was time to do what he'd signed up for.
Annett took a reluctant step after her, then another. She hadn't realized how hungry she was until Kyle had mentioned it, and food was a much easier topic to focus on than the fact that they were trapped in Ceres' orbit in a humongous, irradiated death trap. "Let's eat," she agreed. "And maybe turn off that alarm? If you can."
