Luz rolled her eyes and put the knife away, letting out a noise that sounded just a little like a growl as she watched the mermaid flee the scene. "That's why you screamed for help, right?" she said in a snappy tone, but soon calmed down and let her voice soften when she realized the mermaid wasn't coming back. "We won't let your leg get infected, hear me? I'll get some seawater; the salt will help disinfect it. The doctor will do the rest. And I just know you're tough enough to walk back to camp," she added sarcastically.
"Either way, you get an extra helping of dinner. If you're not too much of a manly man, of course."

A loud call caught Luz's attention, causing her to turn her head. She ran in the direction from which it had come, whipping out her knife as she recognized Drake's voice. Clutching the blade, she burst through the foliage to see the young pirate, his leg bleeding, and a pink-haired woman who Luz didn't recognize. She decided to distract the mermaid and give her crewmate a chance to escape.

She made a slashing motion in the air to warn off the hostile. "I'm giving you one chance," she said threateningly, hoping that her big talk would be enough to scare off this woman--otherwise, who would cook for the Phoenix Pirates? "Get out before I gut you!"

Luz had just stepped out of the cave, hoping to go fishing in the lake. She had been itching to get to work on that front ever since the rich lake had been discovered, and not noticing Blythe approaching from a distance, she clapped her hands and rubbed them together in a plotting sort of way. She muttered aloud to herself: "We're having fish for dinner tonight. Mwaha!" She could not be more excited to have fresh fish after all that time over empty ocean where resources had been scant.
She put her long red hair in a neat ponytail and checked that her supplies were on her: a good sharp knife, a longer blade for cutting through foliage, a canteen full of water and some hardtack in case she happened to get lost out in the tropical landscape. After that she tightened the ties on her boots; she didn't want them to come off if she had to wade into a muddy lake.
Quietly squats in a corner.
If it's okay, can I ask that we slow down and give aegyolk some time to reply?
Don't sweat it!
D.
No pun. I am humorless.
Sounds cool.

Now that the ordeal of stopping the Captain from leaping off of a cliff had thankfully ended, Luz could finally relax and breathe in the wonderful, tropical, free air of the island. She was immensely pleased because on top of all the perks the island had, there were also coconuts near the shore. She'd had to climb up one of the trees and knock some green ones off of the branch, and now, with slightly-achey muscles, she cracked them against a rock and poured the water into cups for the crew. She'd decided that she'd wait to use the hot spring until she could get a moment alone.
More pressing, though, was the fact that up to the north there was a lake full of fish. Fresh fish...the thought made Luz salivate. She was absolutely going to head up there and fish later.
That's okay!
