In Dystopia 12 yrs ago Forum: Casual Roleplay
Waffles before I forget
Was gonna make a lady but I'm seeing the comments about female-to-male and it's a good point so here I go with a gentleman

Appearance:
Human- Dark brown, nearly black, slightly wavy hair down to his shoulders, with a short beard and weird light green eyes. Basically all of his clothing is made of tightly-woven plant material, and he carries a small bronze dagger as his only means of self defense. He has a scar across the bridge of his nose from a time that he startled some small animal with children and claws. He looks pretty raggedy and a bit dirty, like a mountain man or something.
Griffin- He is part osprey and part melanistic jaguar so pretty dark in color, and also kind of small in this form. The osprey probably explains why he likes fish so much.
Name: Lempo Finn
Race: Gryphos
Gender: Male
Age: 26
Rank/Affiliation: Not really any. He just kind of wanders around in the wilderness, often staying at any farming household that lets him; he'll usually do some labor for a week or two, a bit of trading and artwork, then be on his way. what i'm trying to say is he's a nomad yeah
Personality: Pretty easy to approach, and calm. He is a peace-loving person who prefers to lead a simple life (but won't say no to material comforts every once in a while). He is slow to make angry, although when he is angry he's a total mess until someone calms him down. (Hasn't happened in years.) He's open-minded, curious, and really doesn't mind eating worms or maggots if he's having a rough time. His main arty trade is pouches or bags made of fish skin, very small (easy to carry) pottery. He likes shiny things.
Weaknesses: Terrible at running. Easily tricked.
Strengths: Fishing and hunting, wilderness survival.
Brief bio: He grew up on a farm and loved it, but he very much admired the wild animals he saw at times. This silent admiration distracted him from a lot of his agricultural work, and he spent a lot of time spending a night or two out there and learning how to live. When his single mother died of disease he simply sold the farm, took some food and gear, and left, knowing he could always clean up at any time and head to civilization if he wants to.

Okay accepted, datadogie :D I'm going to post my second character and for now the roleplay is closed for now, unless someone posts an uber amazing CS that I can't say no to. Also shall work on the IC. :3 Hope you guys are excited

I am in fact extremely excited and am in fact working on a master's in chemistry solely so I can roleplay as Arlene
I'm quite ready as well yes
ay de mi I'm so excited ahh
s-sorry I took so long I'm an easily distracted human being

Name: Dwayne Harris
Age: 35
Appearance: Short blond hair and (slightly unnerving) blue eyes. Chapped lips, and very calloused, scarred hands. He has a lot of tiny little gashes in his arms that might look at first glance like gouge marks. They're actually the scars of IV needle wounds which he scratched at and which got infected. Fortunately he usually wears long sleeves, or just doesn't get out much. His canines are filed to sharp points. He has a very sad, kind of droopy look to him.
Villain or Hero: Villain, possibly subject to change.
Height: 6'0
Ethnicity: Northern European.
Occupation: Surgeon
Superpowers: His 'powers' aren't something he developed, they're sort of artificial. Using some weird gene therapy (lots of bribes and hush money) he's altered his salivary glands to produce a potent neurotoxic venom. It's only effective if absorbed into the bloodstream of course, and it easily breaks down in his stomach. It's not deadly if he spits at you (aiming at the eyes) but you'd want to wash that stuff out of there ASAP. In the blood however, antivenin is definitely required. Not really a power, but he's also amazing at throwing darts, so if he can't get close enough to deliver a bite, he'll just spit on a dart or knife and throw that.
Weaknesses: He needs to take medication everyday to prevent mild hallucinations. Sometimes he has trouble distinguishing reality from nonreality, and sometimes he daydreams to the point of forgetting where he is. He has tremors often, and if there's medication for that then he takes it too.
Personality: Jittery. He's afraid people know secrets about him. He's afraid he'll be judged, dragged to prison, publicly humiliated, etc. He's a sociopath, but not a severe one. When he trusts someone, it's pure bliss for him, and he'll respond with fierce loyalty, but he takes any given kind gesture with a grain of salt, because he can't imagine anyone doing anything for him without having the intention of using him. He hates deviating from the familiar, or anything being thrust on him without his first being prepared, and this can trigger mental breakdowns.
Background: He was kind of the bottom of the ladder among 5 children, and the older ones often kind of overshadowed him. All the more determined though, he set off to college and learned toxicology, anatomy, and medicine. He's always been a little bit unstable. The IV wounds are from when he put viruses (containing venom-making genes) into himself. That's a bit of the reason why he shakes so much; it damaged the motor region of his brain.
Additional Info: If he has a feeling of being watched, he'll destroy whatever is "watching" him (usually a painting, or animal, or even just an arrangement of objects that look like eyes to him). The shaking stops when he does surgery which is a really good thing because otherwise he'd be in quite the legal trouble.
Thank you ;u;
If it's alright, I might get to making a villain as well.
Name: Arlene Parsons (Thank the name generator.) She has a self-given nickname, "Ace".
Age: 29
Appearance: Short, probably like 5'2 or 5'3. She's slightly dark-skinned, with mid-back length, plain black hair which she usually puts in a ponytail or bun. She has a very nasty looking chemical burn on her left wrist, so she's almost always in long sleeves. She has dark green eyes, usually no makeup, unless of course blemishes. She's petite, very skinny, and she has absolutely no "fashion sense" as it is called; she'll often wear mismatched clothes, even socks. She'll wear stupid-looking ties sometimes. She has thick-rimmed black glasses.
Villain or Hero: Hero
Height: 5'2
Ethnicity: European, with some Arabic ancestors
Occupation: Chemist/pharmacist
Superpowers: She can instantly visualize the results of any and every chemical reaction, and given the right materials, she can basically make any compound she wants to, and predict the properties of the result. Low on oxygen in an isolated environment? No worries, she'll break some glass and get out the oxygen atoms. So her major power is visualizing/predicting chemical reactions. I suppose a minor would be that her hands are tough enough that they can withstand most nasty chemicals. She's an insanely quick thinker, and can improvise something as complicated as a solar cell from a couple of computer chips, in about 5-10 minutes.
Weaknesses: A normal human brain consumes about 20% of the body's energy. Arlene's brain, having all those perks, requires about 35-40%. Because of this, she is almost always hungry, and she'll start to feel dizzy if she puts her power to use without eating enough. She's also extremely reckless, and disregards basic rules for safety in a lab. Oh, that'll be flammable? Too bad, she can't be bothered to move the oxygen tank. She's also a shrimp because so much of her energy goes to her brain, and her muscles are a bit neglected.
Personality: Cheerful, perky, but terrible in social situations. Her intelligence quite clearly does not extend to the 'social' category. She gets nervous easily but she can be (recklessly) curious. She likes to go into explanations far more scientifically detailed than they really need to be, and she's sometimes OCD about having a clean and tidy living space. It is best only to call her Arlene if you're in a formal situation; otherwise she prefers Ace (purely because it sounds cool). Sometimes she says "rude" things without meaning to or realizing it until it's too late and she's realized her mistake. She obsessively disinfects any surface she uses, due to bacteriophobia.
Background: She grew up in Northern Ireland (and thus has a very weak accent), and her parents moved to the US for job-related reasons. She was very poor until she became a successful chemist. For a short amount of time, she did some research, but the scientific papers were a massive bore, so she quit. Arlene's power first manifested when she was 8 years old, when she first started reading books about chemistry. Everything clicked unusually well for an 8-year-old, but unfortunately at the same time she began to become detached from school friends and the like, she just started to degenerate in terms of social skills. No amount of therapy helped with this, but of course, her science teachers loved her. Her purpose is definitely brains.
Additional Info: None that I can think of. I'll probably add some more.
Thank you!
I'm up to it, but I've never seen Heroes. I've heard of it though because someone slammed "Alphas" in a review for being a ripoff of it? But yes I love this sort of thing. Am I still allowed to join up?
