Bio

A long time player, I have been co-writing (aka "role playing") for "ae long tahm". I have a fairly involved career which some years can be nigh all encompassing for months and months at a time. However, I always seem to return for the sheer delight of creating alongside another imaginative individual.

Maddy was led to yet another grand, large hall that ended in a large door of heavy wood with golden trimming. Two guards stood out the front, each armed and alert as one of the girls who attended to the castle led another girl in an elegant gown. Neither of the guards recognized Maddy, and both bared the way. The girl flinched back slightly and looked to both of them. “This girl had made a request to see Sir Justin.” She said softly, the fear in her voice evident as she eyed the long spears.

The eyes of both men again fell to Maddy, they recognized the clothes she wore as marking her of a higher class, but she also looked dirty, and they couldn’t ignore the fact that they didn’t recognize who she was. Eventually one spoke, his voice deep and firm. “I’m sorry, Milady, but he is in a meeting with the other World Walkers and we’re under strict instruction that no one must disturb them. Though as he said this there was a noise as the doors opened, causing both men to jump as Justin emerged, as if he had known they had been talking about him.

He looked tired and drained, but still offered Maddy a small, happy smile as he saw her. Walking out of the room he walked over to her and placed his hand gently on her back, guiding her gently back the way they had come. He stopped for a moment and then turned back to the men that had been guarding the room. “Good job boys, it’s alright, you can go now. We’re done. Take the rest of the day off if you like?” Giving Maddy another content little smile he gestured towards the hallway. “You look like you enjoyed your little adventure.” He smiled a little more genuinely now but still looked very tired.

“So I spoke to the other Glammed Ones, and they’ve all said that there is no sign of Thor rising. As it stands, with Tydan already awake we cannot afford to dwell here and wait for him. So I’ve left the task with Cynthia and the others. I suspect Thor is more likely to listen to those who have lived here longer anyway. This means we’ll be departing for the One Sea very soon, I had hoped to leave tomorrow. Will that be alright with you? Unfortunately we’ll only be able to take what we can carry and we’ll need to change again, something more suited for travelling. I’m not entirely sure where we’ll end up near the One Sea, so it’s best to be prepared and I’m hoping to get more appropriate clothes before we head out once again.”

He sighed softly, realising he was getting a little carried away and slowed his walk, which had become brisk with the idea of being busy. “I’m sorry Maddy, for all this rushing around, this change and all the confusion it must bring you. If circumstances were different I’d love to give you all the time at places you wanted, all the training you needed. But time just... isn’t o our side at the moment.”

Maddy had stopped with the reaction of the guards and had stood, lost for a moment as she'd realized she had been told to keep her “status” to herself which in turn would have kept her outside waiting on Justin. It was another shock after having realized she was so far from home, that she hadn't really been apart from Justin the entire while. At least, not apart in a way she could not find her way back to him easily. He was on the other side of the door and while she knew him to be within reach, she also was not allowed to take the last few steps to his side.

The fact resounded and she chewed on her lip long after he'd appeared and taken her arm. As he ushered her away, his voice low and careless in her ear, as if he did not once have to consider what he was going to say or why, she took a close look inside to see if there was any particular drive behind the sense of rightness which had appeared the moment he'd claimed her before the guards.

No answer readily available, Maddy let go of the entire endeavor and instead focused on the young man at her side. She slowed along with him, glad the moment he'd slowed though she hadn't realized until that moment how she'd had to press to keep up with him, and she smiled. “It's okay, Justin. I understand.” And she did, almost. The concept that he was driven by, the end of the world, still felt far away. She had been atop a flying dragon like horse, before an actual goddess, speaking of the worlds and their demise, was a surreal reality which hadn't come to her complete awareness. She knew it, in the way one knows the sun rises on the other side of the mountains first, but until one feels the heat, the sun hasn't begun to Be just yet.

Still, she could understand the smaller pieces of the larger picture. “So what manner of clothing will we need in the One Sea? Will it be cold or warm?” She knew seas, had heard stories of them. The vastness of blue, the white birds in the sky, the great fish under the waves, it was something she could only imagine. “Besides,” she added as she clasped her hands together in nervous anticipation, “I would like to see this next place.”

I'm going to set in the last few posts into the IC section, I've only two, by way of that doc. Then I will set up a Hawk's Journey thread as well with my new post. :)
Nabbing CS spot - after I've read all and hammered it out. :)
Darn that technical stuff! ;)
Theo hunkered down in the dust until his snub nose all but touched the dirt of the road. Not that it would have made much of a difference, the boy's face had long ago given up any attempt at being clean. Alongside him, Harper, a fairly decent chap even if most of the decent in him was more that he could be depended upon to have a ha'penny or two in pocket or at the very least, a bit of twist, was just as bent over. The pair of boys yelled into the dust and behind them, Little Jonathan Little danced and hopped about in anticipation, yanking at the hem of his untucked shirt.

The reason the boys were so worked up was the slow, languid stroll (not quite unlike that of the man making his way up the lane) of two frogs in the road. One either side of the frogs, wood had been set to suggest to both that they go one way, but the frogs weren't quite of that mind. The smaller one had leapt atop the wood on multiple occaision and had they not already agreed that such action could be remedied, Theo would have been out a rather nice canker on a string, this day's prize.

Little Jonathan Little's eyes were set upon the race and not, as they were supposed to have been, on the road, or the young man might have noticed the quick steps coming up behind. He certainly felt the arrival, however, as his ear was caught handily between strong fingers and pulled red. With a yowl, he danced to the side, his head cocked as well as it could to take the pressure off of those fingers.

“Theodore Hammil, you oughter be ashamed of yerself!” the young woman let go of Little Jonathan Little and quick, cuffed the scrambling Harper. “And you, too, Harper Smith. Look at y'both, like a pair of ruffians!”

Theo, not half so befuddled by the sudden appearance of his sister, jumped to his feet and pointed down into the dust with a triumphant, “Ha! I won!” The sudden shove of his fingers had left a rather confused frog just past the bit of string they'd laid down at the end of the wood, while Harper's frog tried for freedom over one of the sides.

Harper, hand to his head, hadn't the same strength of will that his friend had and hadn't moved out of the way of the cuff, but had taken it as was proper. He glowered over at Theo and shoved his hand into his pocket to pull out the canker and string.

“Over a what?” the girl yanked it from Harper's hand, “A bit of chestnut, is that it? Theo, if Da happens t'see you, you'll be more'n sore t'night. G'on boys,” she shooed the other two and turned on her unrepentant brother, her hands on her hips and her black hair flying about her shoulders. “You! You'd best be getting yourself into the back. There's wood to chop and if it weren't that the stove were going out and I were to get more, you'd have waited til dark t'restock it. You're lucky it was me that found you in the road.” She glared at her brother who only glared back. When his silent glower grew too much to take, she stamped her small foot in the road.

“Well?” she snapped.

“You've my prize.”

“This? Oh, you! Of course, you'll have your prize won't you! Well, here, take it then!”

Neither of the pair took note of the older man about to come upon them, they were accustomed to knowing everyone and being known by everyone. Hammil's children, it was said, were in need of a mother. It was too late for Dear Bess, she was wild as the wood, but Theo could still be saved if a woman were to but put herself to the task. The girl, they could hope only that she'd settle down once her father married her off. But then, the chances of that happening were more and more rare, despite her pretty looks, as her father needed her for the inn. No, a wife for Hammil and then, make a wife of his daughter, that was the thought on every mind.
Okay - bumped with some real ideas thrown into the top post. Feel free to PM me or post here to indicate interest.
Suddenly Venti was part of the process and his entire lit up with what could have been easily described as a puppy's level of delight. He all but wriggled in excitement as he nodded. “Kay,” he grinned wild and bright. James would be the meanie and Venti would be the nice kid. He could do that. Actually, considering it was a fairly straightforward game, he could do it really easily.

When the woman came half out of her apartment, Venti visibly restrained himself, his hands in his pockets and glanced nervously over at James. She had already called him Brat, which suited him just fine because Venti wasn't the kind to take much of anything personally, but she'd also said she was on her way to look for Mr. Parks so maybe the game had already changed?
Venti is a Chatty Cathy and I am afraid you are right. If we gave him too much time on the board, he might very well take things into his own hands. *L* Luckily, he has his brothers to balance him out. Once the conversation with Alice is done, I'm sure we'll be ready for a change of the guard.

Also - now that PMs are up, would you rather keep this in threads or move it to PM-status? Either is fine with me. I'm having an equally hard time keeping track of both at the moment. *LOL*

Ah - and... canned soup in college - you were a step above me. It was breakfast bars (chocolate of course), top ramen, mac n'cheese, and anything one could get at the cafeteria. Canned soup would have been a step up. (Though, the cafeteria had this cheesecake to die for, I do remember that. There was always joy on cheesecake day.)

:) And now it's MY turn for the short post!
Missing SinfulDesire and her Andromeda characterization :(
And RedRising, my other half'ishness of half horses in aprons.
