*Turns Around* *Bangs Head Into Wall Repeatedly* Derp -.- . Sorry. I shall endeavor not to repeat such an infraction of regulations.
That's Jack in the school! Hooray! :D Thanks, Destiny! Of course, I have no idea where he's going or what to do with him next...halp!! xD
Jack
Jack turned to Iyo as they let go of his arm. There were a lot of things about Iyo he was unsure about - their gender, their sexuality, their race - but none of it was particularly important, and asking would just be rude. He did feel a little spark of amusement when Iyo patted him on the arm instead of the back, though - then he froze when Iyo asked about his height. He thought back to the paintings his mother had made of Jotunheimr and his father, of the incredibly powerful giant who still managed to love and have a family. He felt emotions stirring, so he squashed them. This was not the time. "Genes, I guess. From my father's side. Anyway, thank you for being my guide, Iyo, and for allowing me to share your lunch. I'll see you around!". And with that, Jack walked into the classroom, ducking slightly to get through the door and waving over his shoulder to Iyo. He'd been a very interesting character, and a potential friend. Jack just hoped that making friends wouldn't come back to bite him in the end.
Jack
Jack DID have a clean record - not one fight, not one talk back, not so much as a late. He couldn't afford to have attention brought to himself, after all. And he was a bit smarter than the average person, but that was normal - he was simply gifted in the realms of science and mathematics. He admired the main building; it was bigger than any school he'd seen before, and he considered how much he could learn here. He raised an eyebrow internally as the...person...hugged his arm tighter. He could see a few people looking their way, but less than he would have expected - maybe this was normal. He wondered how the rather innocent young person didn't have a clean record, though. "It's a great sandwich, yes. Thank you. I wouldn't mind cleaning up any that you have around the place.". He felt a hint of ire rising at the invasion of his personal space, even if it wasn't malicious. He crushed it, reprimanding himself for thinking that way. His mother had taught him respect for all things, even if his own nature was more paranoid, so he wouldn't shrug away the friendship that was being offered to him.
Jack
As Iyo dragged him toward what he hoped would be the Engineering class, Jack chewed idly on a surprisingly good Egg Salad Sandwich, and wondered if the rather ambiguous figure beside him realised how embarrassed he'd be making anyone else - certainly they were drawing a couple of looks. Jack kept right on eating. He wouldn't have others look down on him - he knew how much pain he'd caused, he knew how little he was worth. He didn't need someone else reinforcing that. "Oh...well, I came here because I was able to get a scholarship. I was gonna leave school and find work since I couldn't afford to pay my way past fourth year, but I...found a brochure for this place one day, and I managed to get a scholarship.". As a rule, Jack didn't talk about his parents or his past with anyone other true friends - and he'd only ever had one of those. Nor did he feel like he should bandy the information that he was searching for a mysterious benefactor around the place.
Jack
Jack froze as Iyo grabbed his arm - had he been wrong when he assumed Iyo was a boy? Or did he simply swing a different way? He thought about it for a moment, freezing in place as he did so - then he decided that it didn't matter. After all, what right did HE have to judge anyone else? So, he unfroze himself and let out a breath. "Ah..sure. A sandwich would be nice." he said, reaching into his jeans pocket to retrieve the schedule that had arrived by post from the school. He flipped it open, and scanned it quickly. "Looks like I am in...Engineering.". He re-pocked the schedule, and decided to simply ignore Iyo's odd behavior. He'd simply reject any advances that came, and if there were none forthcoming, he didn't believe Iyo to be malicious. His instincts came from his Jotun side, and he was a fairly good judge of character.
Jack
Jack studied the young...man, he presumed, and thought it through. He DID need someone to show him where everything was, and there was no better guide than the voice of experience. By this logic, he'd been lucky to run into someone willing to help him. Almost too lucky. "Alright then, Iyo, you have yourself a deal. I don't know where anything is, really.". He gestured for Iyo to lead the way - but he kept a weather eye on his surroundings.
Jack
Jack blinked, then looked down toward the voice. He was faced with...a person. They were really small compared to him - but then again, so was almost everyone. "Yeah...I'm new here. Just arrived, actually. My name's Jack.". Jack extended his hand, naturally suspicious but unwilling to make enemies on his first day. After all, who knew what this person may be? They could be a normal human...but then again, maybe not.
Yo, I just realised that I never specified the difference between steam and water vapor in the Powers section of Jack's sheet. Basically, while he cannot make ice or snow from water that has become steam due to being heated, he CAN make it from the water vapor in the air, because of the difference in energy. I also wanted to add that this ability is where many of the myths about the Jotun's control over weather come from, since they can create the snow from the water in the air, not from the clouds. (After all, how would a Jotun get INTO the clouds to try and control them?)
Uh...something like 30 degress centigrade? I think? Maybe 40 degress?
