A faction sheet will definitely be up along with the OOC. However, if enough demand calls for one ahead of that time, I'll simply edit it into the Interest Check.
Sweet. If you want to, you can go ahead and bring both in, if you'd like. Given the clashing nature both groups would obviously have, I think that both would make a great addition to the RP.
@Rare: Excellent! I look forward to your participation when the OOC comes up.

@GemCat: I'm setting up the RP so that even beginners can take a good crack at it. As long as you're willing to learn, and you put thought into what you're writing, you should be an excellent addition to this roleplay. After all, you don't know how well you do until you at least try it out for yourself.
Xaxl (over Skype) said How is the focus on characters vs. nations divided for Kingdoms, and how is character RP stuff in it gonna be characterized? Like, what sort of stuff will characters be involved in?

The focus will be whatever the players decide in the end. However, nations themselves can be used as backdrops to what the characters are doing. One big purpose of having a "persistent world" kind of setting is so that our characters can operate in a very lifelike environment.

On the other hand, our nations are considered as entities in and of themselves. Their actions is what makes the setting very life-like. Their actions have a direct impact on the grand scheme of things, and as such our characters will have to make decisions to work with, around, or even against them.

The rulers of these nations (also being characters of our own design) are going to have to make realistic decisions on what to do. Just like the current world leaders have to make decisions carefully to keep the balance of power on their side, so will the galactic leaders in this setting have to do.

Personally, I've always built my nations off a singular concept, which usually happens to be a character idea I've thought of. This is an extremely open setting, as this is just starting out, so the possibilities are almost endless. I tend to take full advantage of the fact, and have actually ended up creating characters from every walk of life. My factions work as a solid foundation for them to rise out of, so that they can interact with this "persistent world" that both I and the players come up with.
@Xaxl: Yes, you can bring in as many characters and factions as you want into the RP. I've got two conditions for the factions: First, they don't help each other/maintain any sort of friendly relations with one another. Second, only one can be of any significant size compared to everyone else's.

@Lum: Well, life's a pain in the ass most of the time. If it wasn't, I'd have had this up more than a month ago, along with my own completed faction. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case.
The galaxy is teeming with life... and it's not as friendly as we might think at first sight. Vast civilizations from long ago have tamed the stars, only to wipe each other out in an effort to subdue one another. For thousands of years, these old factions eventually drove one another to extinction, never to be seen again...

In the ashes of the old world, a new one rises like a glorious phoenix, waiting to prove to all that it will be more grand than it was in its old life. It has been only a few thousand years since the old civilizations died out, leaving a gap in power throughout the galaxy. In the ages since, the races of the galaxy have risen up to claim glory for themselves and exert their will over the rest of the galaxy, at whatever cost necessary.

Welcome to War of the Great Kingdoms. This is a character-driven Sci-Fi NRP. In addition, I plan for this RP to be very in-depth in terms of both character development and nation-building, very much like the last incarnation before the old RPG died off. As such, detail is strongly encouraged here, in your factions, and especially your characters.

I've got a working NS and CS going so that participants may fill it out. Please note that this is NOT a continuation of any RP that I have made or participated in previously, so all plots, characters, and factions will need to be made from scratch -- with the exception of those people who have saved their work from the other Kingdoms RP that was on the old Roleplayerguild.

Note that there will NOT be a player limit at this time. However, not everyone can be the Big Bad -- I'll be monitoring that sort of stuff closely, to keep balance intact on the faction-related aspects of the RP.

So... Who's interested?
