Welcome to the guild! :) The 1x1 section seems to always have something going on and Casual/Advanced is really the way to go for people who like to write longer paragraphs as the Free section is often more for rapid posting and mostly expects one-paragraph posts but often allows one-or-two sentence replies too if I remember correctly.
You will probably find a lot of fantasy and fandom things in the 1x1 section.
If you have any questions, there's a bunch of people always willing to help so just ask in the appropriate forum :)

Hello everyone! You can call me, cosmos88 [since I think there's a cosmos on here?]. Either way, hello. ^_^
A little about myself: I'm a part time veterinary receptionist who is working on a few books with the intention of publishing them one day. I've a large, orange cat by the name of Louie who loves belly rubs.
I got into roleplaying when I was 18 years old. At that time, I was getting into rpg video games. Went online to research some games and happened upon a roleplay writing forum. Even though it was writing, I saw that so long as one stuck within the site's limits aka rules, that I could write almost anything. Since then, I've been hooked on writing and it had immensely improved my writing. I roleplay to keep my skills sharp. It's been a decade thus far.
As for preferences...hm. Well, I will save the details for the 1 x 1 Interest Check that I plan on writing on here. However, what little I can say is that I am an M x F writer that enjoys long term roleplays. What that typically means is I don't do rapid fire replies in a roleplay and that my posts are typically in the five or more paragraphs size range depending on how inspired I am. I'm learning to use the "show don't always tell" method of writing which I feel I've been a bit shaky in and would like to improve upon. I'm also mostly into Fandoms but I do have some original ideas that I'd like to try and will mention once I can sit down and write my Interest Check.
As for stuff that I'm into aside from the obvious reading, writing and roleplaying...I love to play video games, I love to draw when the mood strikes me and I love animals. My favorite mythical creature is a dragon. I absolutely love them lol. And...my favorite color is red? lol Not sure what else to put here but yeah, hello ^_^
