The Tower

The elevator doors closed on the approaching shadowy doppelgangers and the ruined room, enveloping the exhausted group in jazzy elevator music. Aria was rather relieved to see that it wasn’t one of the elevators with mirrors for walls- she had had enough of mirrors for a while. It also wasn’t showing signs of being a hungry monster, as Xan had suggested, and the illusionist leaned on one of the walls with a sigh as the elevator ascended.

The peaceful ambiance was cut short as the doors slid open with a grinding screech and hiss, filling the small space with the thick and cloying scent of blood.

The scene that played out after had her staring numbly in shock. Marcus and Atlas? There was no way. Or was there? They had been with their respective groups, yet the time that they had spent alone in the nightmares, could the two have- She quickly shook away the thought, supressing the nagging feeling of doubt. What kind of friend was she, suspecting her teammates?

No, this couldn’t be real, just as Dylan and Amy said. Aria straightened up, scanning the room and wincing at the coat of red that covered almost every surface. It couldn’t all have belonged to the doctor, could it? Perhaps he had been attacked by a nightmare and wasn’t able to escape? The biggest question now, however…

“Where do we go from here?” She looked back at the elevator. “We’ve found the doctor, and… well...” She gestured helplessly, wanting nothing more than to leave this hellish place.

Thaum: Group B

Aria blocked out the taunts as best as she could, instead opting for dodging to the side as a mirror with her warped reflection inside shot past her with a loud “Wheeee!” before shattering down onto the stony floor and shattering into pieces.

She barely heard Xan’s question of the shattering glass and the booming voice that followed closely after, before she watched in horror as the mirrors revealed what was happening to the rest of the Pride through a green haze of noxious gas. Don was already out, lying sprawled out on the floor as the rest of them hacked and coughed.
Things seem bleak until inexplicably, Marcus’ eyes began to glow as magic circles formed across the walls of the room and with a deafening rumble the room exploded, as did the roof of the mirror room.

Aria jumped back as a particularly large chunk of ceiling smashed down in front of her, followed by a suit of armor and Selan who narrowly missed falling onto the sharp spikes of the metal armor.

“Selan! Are you alright?” She darted over to the Songstress, dodging some last bits of falling debris and giving the woman a quick inspection. Twisted limbs- nope, gaping wounds- nope, breathing- she was coughing out a bit of dust and green fumes, but otherwise check. “Can you stand?”

The room was now littered with broken glass, patches of black ooze, armor and large chunks of wall and ceiling as well as the various groaning bodies of the Pride. Miraculously nobody had been squashed and they were all finally accounted for. They weren’t out of danger yet, but Aria let out a sigh of temporary relief. At least everyone was still alive.
Finally done yey!

I'll be answering Marti's questions in a bit so if anyone has anymore questions feel free to toss them up! ^ o ^ (Or if you guys have more after I answer I'll do those too yey)

Thaum: Group B

Aria nearly shrieked again when bodies tumbled from the darkness above. She had half expected them to be rotting corpses that would stand up and chase them around, so it was to great relief when she found that it was her friends who had fallen instead.

Dylan, Amy, Lucy, Xan and poor Lulu who had fallen on his face were there and the relief was so great at seeing them that for a while she almost forgot that they were still in a dark and dreary room surrounded by creepy paintings.

She waited impatiently for Lute to finish his quick inspection and once he was satisfied she moved over to back to make her own inspection of the Virtuoso. “Forget about me, are you alright?” Lute always did pay more attention to the well-beings of others than he did himself. He didn’t seem too hurt, and when Xan came over she pulled them both into a hug, relishing in the fact that everyone was unhurt. Well, mainly everyone- They were still missing a few members.

“Come on, don’t hang on the back of the group, it’s scarier there! Like in ghost stories, the scariest places are the ones in front because you’ll see the ghosts first, and then the position at the back, because someone could sneak up on you. Let’s stay in the middle, okay?”

Of course he had to mention ghosts. Aria quickly tugged Lute and Xan along and plopped them firmly in the middle of the group, feeling the stares of the painting intensify as the now grown group They passed the creepy looking door and into a hall of mirrors, which made Aria wince and tighten her hold on her friends’ arms. Something creepy was going to pop out, she was sure of it. And where was her reflection?

“Over here~” A voice cooed, and Aria whipped around only to jump back from the jeering image of herself. The rest of the group’s twisted reflections were there too, and they cackled as the mirrors started to shift, making the confusing labyrinth even more difficult to navigate.

“You’re never getting out of here,” Mirror Aria gloated, skipping through a mirror beside the group. “Why don’t you make yourselves comfortable instead and give up?”
Sorry Closet Nerd, if you'd take a quick gander of the last page of this OOC you'll see that our dear GM has stated that we're not accepting at this time. Sorry once again for, er, shooing you away immediately and sweeping you aside? /o;/

“Eeeeeep.”

Aria had always tried her hardest to stay away from places like this. Not that she was scared, of course, not at all. It merely gave her creeps, and she edged away from the various painting on the walls, trying her hardest not to look at any of them and oh Gods above did that painting just blink? And now it was staring right at her, smile almost seeming to widen.

She edged closer to Moira, Syed and Atlas discretely, a small part of her almost preferring to be outside. The atmosphere inside the tower was unsettling, as if there were unseen things crawling and creeping around them just waiting to jump out.

"Do... we even have time to look?"

All Aria wanted to do was leave, but it was likely that the rest of the guilders had reached the tower as well. Before she could formulate a reply Lisette screamed, the shrill sound followed by a loud BANG!, making the illusionist jump and give an answering shriek before she looked up, hands clutching at her pounding heart at the fallen painting and hidden doorway.

"Kapi, that was so danger-- ah! Kapi, you're a genius! Look everyone!"

“H-How wonderful,” Aria meeped meekly, eyeing the set of heavy wooden double doors. There was a brass knocker in the shape of a twisted face while the protruding tongue acted as the handle. As much as she would love to open the door and see what horrors lay behind…

“Er, do any of you want the honors of opening the door? I think I’ll pass…”
