Dante is a lean, mean fighting machine. He's very muscular, and pretty cut with a slight beard. True to his spanish heritage he has a dark skin complexion. His casual attire isn't all that casual. It usually consists of a tight fitting black t-shirt, dark cargo pants, and matching combat boots. His prefered attire of his Black Knight persona is a black full body armor. It is resistant to most firearms, the affects of the weather, and a few other things. He also wears a ballistic skull mask.
Beneath The Surface
Personality
Dante is a man that under went a drastic change in his personality many, many years ago. This is due to the Super Soldier program. He used to be a kind, caring, and quiet guy. But that has long since passed. Now he is a loud, aggressive, narcissistic, ill tempered, and self serving man. The program changed him to the core. He doesn't care about others, mostly seeing them as cannon foddler. No, first, and foremost he looks out for number one now. Everyone else be damned. He is increasingly aggressive, and has no sense of mercy, or morals whatsoever. He's now the defination of a sociopath. He's willing to kill a kid for a candy bar if he really wanted it.
Dante can be quite sarcastic, and more than a little bit of a smart ass. He's a rather big flirt as well, and no woman is safe from his advances. He doesn't care about age, whether they're interested, or whatever. He will go after you like a freight train. There is no escape. He's quite full of himself, and thinks he's God's gift to everyone. He believes that he's never wrong, and things should be done his way. So he's quite stubborn this way, and has a little touch of a superiory complex. Overall this makes him rather difficult to work with.
Dante is completely fearless in his actions. He's also rather reckless, borderline suicidial, in his actions. Indeed, he's been diagnosed with suicidial tendencies before, but no one's quite sure why he'd act in such a manner. Some believe it may be the last remanent of the man he was before. He's quite greedy as well, as he loves money. Many have described him as the embodiment of the seven deadly sins. Regardless, when something needs to be done, he's the man to do it.
What Makes Me Special
Powers
Dante is the first(and only) successful Super Soldier.
- Super Strength - Dante is stronger than most, and is able to bend steel with little effort.
- Super Reflexes - Dante has incredible reflexes, and is able to dodge bullets with ease.
- Super Speed - Dante is able to run 50 MPH, and is able to keep up with most vehicles on foot.
- Regenerative Healing Factor - Dante heals from injuries at an astonishing rate. He can't, however regenerate severed limbs, or organs.
- Super Immunity - Due to his healing factor he is immune to all toxins, and posions.
- Decelerated Aging - Dante does not age normally. While not truly immortal, he will live for a very, very long time.
- Enhanced Senses - His senses of smell, sight, and hearing are much greater than a normal humans.
- Enhanced Intellect - While it may not appear so, but Dante is incredibly smart. His mind works much faster than the average human, and he has an eidetic memory. His mind is basically a human super computer.
Equipment
- Twin Pistols - His sidearms are his twin pistols.
- Twin Swords - His main weapons are his twin short swords.
- Katana - This katana sword is mainly used as a backup weapon.
- Throwing Knives - He has many of these throwing knives hidden all over his body.
- Grenades - He frequently uses grenades.
Strengths
- Combat - Dante is a master combatant, and has mastered many different martial arts.
- Marksmanship - Dante is a great marksman, though he doesn't really use any high powered firearms that would call for his skills. But he does use his throwing knives to great effect.
- Strategy - Dante has a keen, and brutal tactical mind. He's able to formulate well thought out plans on the fly. Though most often these plans does involve heavy loses on not only his target, but also anyone he works with. His first, and foremost priority is himself after all.
- Swordsmanship - Dante is an incredible swordsman. This is especially apparent when he's using his katana sword.
- Charasmatic - When he wishes to be he can be quite the charmer, and is able to talk his way into most things.
Weaknesses
- Sociopath - He has a disregard for life, and cares little for others. To him they are merely cannon fodder.
- Temper - His temper can get the better of him at times, and cause him to make obvious mistakes.
- Women - He has a lustful personality, and has a difficult time focusing when fighting someone he finds attractive. Though he'll still do it.
- Cocky - He's incredibly overconfident, and often underestimates others.
- Reckless - He's incredibly reckless, and relies on his healing factor way to much.
Skeletons In The Closet
History
Dante was born in a small town near the border to Mexico in Texas in 1933, the youngest of three sons. His family worked on the ranch of a wealthy family. It was a modest living, and they were fairly happy. But Dante wasn't content with it, he wanted to see the world. His eldest brother, Miguel, felt the same way. And when he turned eighteen he joined the army to fight in the war. This devastated Dante's parents, but Dante on the other hand, was jealous that his brother was going on an adventure, and fighting Nazis.
But unfortunately Miguel didn't survive the war. They were all devastated. When Dante turned eighteen he followed his brother's footsteps, and enlisted into the military, much to his family's dismay. They tried their best to keep him from enlisting, but it was too late. His mind was already made up, and nobody could change his mind. He wanted to make a difference in the world, he wanted to help people.
During the Cold War he was stationed all over at various bases, and he was well liked by the higher ups. So much so that his name was put forward for the Super Soldier program. When he was approached about it he immediately signed up. To him this was the best way to serve his country.
The Super Soldier process was rigorous, and painful. He was given injections of some sort of serum daily, as were the other subjects. The other subjects began dropping like flys, one by one each week. All until there was two left, him, and another man. As time went on they both began exhibiting signs of the serum working, such as super strength. They also displayed varying levels of aggression. This came to a head when the other subject went insane, and tried to kill everyone. He would have too if not for the timely intervention of Dante. He proved that he wasn't like the other one, that he was a success. But the truth was, he was just better at hiding it.
The serum super charged everything in his body. It fliped a switch in his head. He began craving death, and destruction. Every want that people bury down deep all surfaced at once. He wanted money, power, respect, woman, everything he could bleed out of this big blue marble. And he had a plan to get it all. He just needed to be an actor, and allow them to see that he wasn't a ragin lunatic.
They eventually decided he was ready for his first mission. He was to disable a Soviet nuclear warhead. He had a team, and everything was going like clockwork. That is until he decided he was bored with them. He executed his team without a thought, and stole the nuclear material for himself. What did he do with the nuke? He sold it of course. Got a small fortune for it. From then on his renegade lifestyle began.
He rebranded himself as The Black Knight, and became the best mercenary, and assassin in the world. And thanks to his aging he would be for a very, very long time. Over the decades he's racked up quite the rap sheet, and is wanted by almost every government in the world. But no one would ever risk going after him. Not even superheroes could touch him. He'd racked up quite the kill count with them.
But everyone makes mistakes, and he did as well. His older brother, Gabriel was dying in a hospital of cancer. Something deep inside him forced him to go see his brother on his death bed. Once there he could barely recognize his brother. But Gabriel instantly recognized his estranged brother, as he had barely changed any. It was then as he met with his brother Dante was attacked by a black ops team.
There were so many of them, almost enough for a small army, and they managed to capture him. He was expecting to be thrown in some kind of super prison which he could easily escape from. He wasn't however. He was taken to the base of the newly formed Rehab project. He was implanted with the nanobots, and imprisoned. Now he awaits to see what the government wants to do with him.
