The Gauls, Egyptians and Celts in the times of the Roman Empire, they stood and fought against overwhelming odds. The Indians against the Americans, Afghanistan against the Russians, etc
He's edited the war declarations out now xD
I find it more funny how they managed to trace it back to the Collective so quickly. It's not as if they beamed the planet into Collective space with a big sign saying 'STOLEN PLANET!' or turned up with an army to do so, they quietly dispatched a small group, which could be passed off easily as Infandus if they were caught (Or even Goa'uld infected individuals' into chaos which would likely make them harder to spot, and then the planet disappears about 15 minutes later and the New Romans instantly try to declare war on a Nation they barely know anything about (I assume the Asari were able to tell them the difference between Collective warships and the ones attacking the planet, as the latter were massive pyramids in a frame. If not, the Asari are blind xD)

So, to lay it out

They know nothing about the Collective, but are somehow able to detect what is theres and what isn't in the midst of Chaos (Duck suggested there were millions of soldiers in his last post) and trace it back to the Collective ignoring the Elephant in the room (This is a little like finding a hundred thousand Chinese soldiers with a single Russian fighting among them, who could be anything from a merc to a gangster to someone who moved to China, and thus saying it's all the Russians fault, declaring war on Russia and ignoring that China was the one who invaded) after they see technology they know nothing about (And thus couldn't possibly know whether it's Collective or not, it's a wormhole not a space ship) and then declaring war on a nation they know nothing about on what is essentially a guess... GG xD

By nothing I mean very little. I doubt the Asari were able to fill the Empire in with everything they know about the Collective in such a short time.
Message to the Romans

"Please explain how you came to that conclusion, we are intrigued to know when we became the same entity as the Goa'uld. I do not recall any Collective personnel ever flying massive pyramids or declaring themselves Gods, for a start. Secondly, who in the universe are you? Thirdly, I believe you are referring to the Goa'uld conflict with the Asari, yes? Unfortunately for you, there are two problems with your accusation. First of all, the Goa'uld invasion happened before you actually absorbed the Asari, and they had invaded and claimed the world and killed the citizens shortly before, therefore the world did not belong to the Asari Republic, who are obviously not a good republic, when they were absorbed and therefore not yours. Secondly, how did we kill them? The Jaffa are not Collective combatants. Obviously your optical buds must be flawed, because we haven't taken anything of yours. If you attack anything belonging to the Collective, we will return fire and then attack your worlds and claim compensation five times that of what was lost, if you attack our allies, we will attack your worlds and claim compensation for them of 10 times what they lost."

Public statement

A statement has been released refuting the New Roman claims and also thanking their allies the Sazkarjhit for continuing to provide support. An Umbrae Populus Comedian has made a joke at the expense of the New Romans, releasing a virtual leaflet saying 'The Difference Between Goa'uld and Collective for those of low intelligence'
Ra's forces

Ra's ships paused and quickly abandoned the system, leaving the forces on the ground to fend for themselves...
Or so it seemed, because along the magnetic poles of the planet, the Phase tanks had arrived, and placed beacons. There was bloody fighting between the Jaffa and the Roman forces, but less than two minutes after the beacons had sent off the co-ordinates, the process began.
And then there was a blinding flash, of energy of unsurpassed levels in the sky. And the planet drifted up and out of its orbit, pulled by some disturbance in Gravity, and then a massive superportal appeared, and the planet was drawn inside the portal... And then vanished as the portal closed. Scans revealed no lie, there was no planet there.

A planet had just, quite literally, been stolen.

Space...

The Planet came out in a separate galaxy, away from the milky way. A small group of Triarian and Goa'uld ships waited in what was now orbit. There was a short exchange with the ground forces, before the Triarian forces were teleported off planet and the Collective ships moved in, using their energy projectors to destroy the atmosphere and kill all life on the planet. As usual, the Goa'uld cared not for their loses.

There was a short communication exchange between the two powers, determining that the Goa'uld would get 40% and the Collective 60% of the Naquadah. The Goa'uld forces reluctantly agreed to the demands, under the threat that the Collective would beam the planet back (This was, of course, a bluff. Massive amounts of energy had been required to do it this way, the Collective fleet had not brought anything with enough power to do so again)
Right, so from now, this is going to be what the Collective does. In order to keep it so its obvious everyone knows I am still playing them but at the same time protecting my plan for them internally from getting distorted due to recent events, almost anyway the Collective show up will be small and covert.
I came up with an excuse for their isolation. They are currently in a war, far, far away of a massive size which requires a huge devotion of resources, thus they are moving External stabilisation forces to this combat zone.
Message to the AIF

"Tok'ra Tau'ri, kree! Goa'uld Ra! Kree!"

Bridge of Ra's flagship

Ra's eyes flashed as he watched the fleet. He had not respected such resistance, such insolence such... Pathetic mortals!
He turned to his first prime and barked some orders, and the First Prime nodded in response, tapping a few commands. The weapons hitb the flagships and the Ha'taks, but the shields held firm on all but one, where they died but the Ha'tak remained operational and continued firing. Then the missiles came forwards and stopped... And reversed. Quite literally REVERSED towards their firers as though someone had swatted them away with an invisible hand. Something shimmered behind the flagship as this happened, behind vanishing back into black. On the edge of the system appeared four more Ha'taks, bringing to total up to eight, and they moved forwards, firing their deadly cannons at the human fleet. Without a care in the world the Forces of Ra continued.
Then the Chappa'ai activated again, and two Triarii came through... They did not engage the Jaffa, and the two began to converse semi-peacefully, though there was a clear hint of agitation between the two factions. After less than a minute, one of the Triarii turned back to the gate and watched as four Phase Tanks passed through, a Saeva Simius riding each one, and dispersed across the planet. The two began to converse with the Jaffa again as the Chappa'ai closed behind them. This was clearly not an invasion nor liberation force, and given the Collectives retreat into their space, their objectives in the Milky Way Galaxy might not be clear.
In reality, they were here to do something they doubted anyone in the milky way had seen before, all for the resources which lay within this planet which the Asari had not known the value of. Ra had struck a quick deal for this, and the Collective tried to keep their presence as low key as possible. They had lowered their contact for a reason, and didn't want to be seen doing this of all things...
Asari world

"Tok'ra!" Ra's first prime shouted as he pointed to the view screen, as the ships came into view
"Ha'tak! Kree!" Ra shouted as he took a few steps forwards "Tok'ra Tau'ri!" Two of the Ha'tak moved away towards the Roman fleet, engaging it with their powerful staff cannons. The Ha'tak were remarkably durable against the enemies attacks, and launched remarkably strong attacks. Ra himself sent a message back to his other forces by continued the attack from his flagship. On the ground, the Jaffa had exterminated the Asari and had already set their human slaves to work on the planet, the slaves coming through a Chappa'ai which had been dropped onto the planet to be set to work
Uh... IC soon?
Goa'uld

Lord Ra's forces

Four Ha'tak and a Flagship appeared above an Asari world and deployed their death gliders and Al'kesh into the void of space, circling the planet. The planets communication systems were blocked by the Ha'tak, and a single message was broadcast down to the planet
"Kree! Bow before your god!" It said, but the Asari staunchly refused to bow before this alien invader. Suddenly the space ships descended upon the planet, the Al'kesh bombers laying waste to cities and Tal'teks deploying hordes of Jaffa down to the planet, who fought in such numbers with their deadly staff weapons in order to overpower the defenders. This was only a small world, and the Asari defenders were vastly outnumbered. Their attempts to surrender were rejected. There was no mercy as the Jaffa overrun them and murdered them brutally. Jaffa and Human slaves were planted on the world in their place, and the Death Gliders destroyed the few Asari spaceships that were around the planet. Only a single short message managed to get past the Communications jamming, sent off in random directions all over the galaxy, and it simply read "Help"
And when the fighting was done, Lord Ra added another world to his Dominion

Collective

For reasons unknown, the vast majority of the Collective has withdrawn within it's borders once more, at least within the Milky Way Galaxy, and has minimalised it's interaction with external species. They have, however, confirmed they will acknowledge the alliances they hold and will honour them should their allies ever be threatened and in need of assistance
