My point is... Its doing exactly what I said we should avoid, smashing everything up, waiting for it to grow again then smashing everything up

Why cant we travel across galaxies now, was there some cataclysmic event that made it impossible with the tech we had been using and we haven't worked around? Why did we get reduced in size? Extra-universal or Extra dimensional invasion, or just word of god? Were the other galaxies also devastated, destroying our holdings or are they cut off (and as a result are the home worlds of any extra-galactic species destroyed?) How did we survive the destruction? Do we still retain knowledge of each others languages (Are we allowed to decide this?) What happened to Faust during this time, why did she allow such devastation to the universe, surely a being of peace and harmony would try to stop this, was she defeated by the threat?
Potentially this good be very good... But can we get some more exposition other than "You shrank, something happened, your fleets were destroyed"

Oh, and everyone should have to keep track of their world and ship count. The reason for this is so we can say no to unrealistic booms in size, and also when we have finite ships and resources, it adds more to the battles. Right now there's nothing to lose, if the Collective goes to end game and self destructs on of their planets, boo boo they had tonnes of others to go to. Now imagine the situation if they only had a handful of other planets. If we have to track them, we wont be able to reach several million planets.

While it is nice to see a new person, he seems to have like an entire fleet.

Well, it is called a Carrier xD
What should I tear out, then?
Uh... I think I'm out.
I suppose we could reset, but we seriously need to work things out if we are. I don't want to keep going through this cycle of reset, build up, reset, build up, reset because it's stupid...

but we've already done a lot now...
I don't get it, why would a reset be better?

Also, things tend to get smaller. Colonial fleets were much larger than the fleets we field today, it's not unreasonable to believe a similar thing would happen in space
Why don't we just come up with a reason for us all to be limited more?

We don't need millions upon millions of ships (The logistics of fielding these would be pretty crippling anyway)
Some quick fleet statistics from various sci-fi

Covenant (Halo): Contain a large portion of the Milky way (Probably about 1/100th). Fields Several Thousands ships, probably just under the 10,000 mark. Largest fleet fielded has a bit over 500 ships, the fleet tasked with the destruction of the Fortress world of Reach, Even if we times this by 100 for controlling the entire milky way we have just about 1 million

Imperials (Star Wars, Palpatines Empire): Controls pretty much the entire Star Wars Galaxy, at it's peak has Millions of Ships (Though this includes transports) The largest fleets fielded (If we are to trust the movies and games and not the weird extended universe which would take me 50 years to read through) seems to be several thousand large at a time

Imperial Navy (W40K): Controls Millions if not Billions of Worlds. No clear number is given, but a sector is given a battlefleet of about 200 ships, and given the amount of Sectors we're probably looking at the 20 mil mark (From the most blown out of proportion empire in the history of Sci Fi. Average Battlefleet is the aforehere mentioned 200 ships, with the largest battlefleets having several thousand and being tasked with 'Exterminatus'

Void of the Stars: Average Warfleet appears to be in the Hundreds of Thousands range, with the largest fleet being fielded probably had over half a million if that fleet of the AIF that engaged the Goa'uld was supposed to be the largest fleet ever seen in the Milky Way. A quick and basic calculation (Thus not entirely accurate) concludes that the AIF alone has 100000000000 (100 billion)

Why the hell do we need navies of 100 billion to throw at each other? Aren't thousands (10's of thousands if you want to push it) enough? These things aren't cheap to build or operate, we have ships that are many, many km long in this. You need immense amounts of energy to break orbit then move them to light speed, supplying billions of these is economy suicide. What about the logistics of providing for the quadrillions of crewmembers during war time?

Also, from a gameplay stand point it's gotten stupid. We have so many ships our strategies are basically to line up our fleets line old Colonial regiments, form firing lines and trade fire until one fleet burns, because any attempts to perform tactics with such large numbers would just result in chaos.

Smaller fleets, smaller armies, more detailed and strategic fights. Right now it's "I THROW THOUSANDS AT YOU" "WELL I THROW TENS OF THOUSANDS" "I USE UBER WEAPON!" "I CALL IN MORE HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS" "I SHOOT AT YOURS" "SOME DIE BUT THERE ARE STILL MANY LEFT, I SHOOT AT YOURS" "SOME DIE BUT WE HAVE LOADS LEFT, OPEN FIRE!" and so on
Kalok stood in the summoning chamber and raised his hand into the air, calling forth a small portal through which five more imps hopped, cheering as they saw their master. Then Kalok watched as his new orcs were created. When born, they would know nothing but his domination, his power... They would know nothing but war. There would be no 'good' Orcs, for all they would know is 'evil'. The four new Orcs peered around the dark chamber, then their eyes fell to rest on Kalok. They approached him slowly and as they did Kalok turned and went to the forge. The Orcs followed behind, their first dull steps through the world, the small group came to a halt in the Forge, where the first Orc had been working, Kalok spoke up
"Orc, have you finished the Equipment." The Orc slowly rose up, holding a new blade, and gave a small nod to Kalok as he gestured with it to a table line of equipment. He passed the new blade to Kalok who examined it. It was crude looking and certainly ugly, with it's dull metal colour and odd design. Half of it was serrated with a larger spike protruding from the top, while the other side was merely a sharpened smooth edged blade. The guard was two spikes, clearly designed to double as a weapon if needed, and the pommel was a simple sphere which was certainly heavy, almost as though it was designed for usage on someones head. It had a brutal simplicity to it, and at first Kalok felt disappointed as he handed it back to the Orc, who turned to the practice dummy, and approached it, before swinging the swords smooth edge... and to Kaloks surprise it cut through the dummy like it was nothing. The head of the dummy fell to the floor, the tightly packed sand spilling out from within. Turning the blade to it's serrated edge, he swung it again at the dummy's chest and as it impacted, it travelled partway through the target before stopping. The Orc gave it a tough yank and pulled it to the side, the single blade that came from the top slicing through the remainder of the dummy and thus splitting the target in two. Kalok shrugged, maybe it would have a harder time against the humans.
He merely nodded, and the five Orcs moved across to the table, donning their armour and their weapons, the crude Orcish swords and bows giving a somewhat deceptive image of them being a poor fighting force. The shield was a similar crude weapon, made of the same dull metal with two spikes coming from the bottom which appeared to be designed to allow the shield to become a stabbing weapon, and a series of small spikes coming off the shield pointing forwards that appeared to have been soldered on afterwards and designed for a deadly shield bash. Kalok took a step forwards, speaking as they suited up "In the shadow of this volcano lies a small village of just over 50 humans. I need some of them alive to work the fields... You are to kill the old and weak, but the young and fit must survive, including the children. They are mostly unarmoured... and if you cannot handle some angry farmers then what did I create you for? Go prove your worth!" The Orcs let out a roar of agreement, then turned and charged out of the forge, all following the 'First Orc', the only one right now who actually knew his way around the caverns...

The sun was setting over the volcano behind them and Kia was sitting on the bench over looking the sea with her young grandson, Arn. She spoke to him and he clung on her every word, as she told him the wondrous stories of pirates and soldiers and treasure and great monsters that she told him so often and yet he never grew tired of. Little did the two realise the monsters were closer than they knew. Kia finished the story and slowly began to stand as the wide eyed Arn looked out over the dazzling sea as the moon drifted into view
"I'm going to catch pirates one day, Captain Black wouldn't get away from me Grandma!" Arn said as he looked up to Kia "I'm not afraid of his monster." Kia chuckled slightly
"I dare say you will, but all good pirate catchers get to bed on time..." She said as she turned to walk away, moving slowly along the ground. Arn stood his ground
"No they don't. All good pirate catchers stay awake all night to watch for the pirates." He whined, in a similar fashion he did every night, Kia turned her head back to him
"But if the pirate catchers stay awake all night, they'll be too tired to catch the pirates" She gestured for him to come "Come on now, before your mother gets worried" She said, turning her body to face him and folding her arms. But at the moonlight caught the boys face, she could see he was staring with wide, fearful eyes and a face as white as wool.
"G...Grandma... there's a monster..." He stuttered slowly, and Kia paused, for the first time her old ears picking up a heavy breathing behind her. She turned her head slowly, until she came face to face with the hideous face of the First Orc. Her eyes went wide and she froze on the spot as the Orc let out a deafening roar, before raising it's sword into the air and bringing it down, cleaving her head from her shoulders. Arn let out a scream and rushed past the Orc towards the village, screaming
"Monster! Monster!" As he went, but came to a sickening sight in the village. Villagers screamed as they ran around, some trying to fight but being quickly cut down by the superior Orcs. Arn turned to run but saw the First Orc bolting up behind him, and thus turned and ran deeper into the village. The First Orc was faster than him, and was upon him within seconds, but the monster didn't attack him, merely followed behind him, roaring and brandishing it's sword. Slowly, all the villagers were herded into the center, the remaining 35 of them. Kalok himself came down from the mountain now, hobbling into the village and looking around the villagers scared faces, before smiling and offering his proposition, essentially enslaving them... With no other choice but death, they accepted his offer.
And with that Kalok had farmland to feed his armies with and the human slaves to work it. There was another village on the island, larger than this and with a port... but also better defended. He would spawn more Imps and Orcs before attempting to steal that one. After a quick exchange with the Orcs and villagers, he turned and proceeded back to the dormant volcano, descending into the darkness once more and finding his way back through to the heart

|Ship Name: CAS-class assault carrier Shade of Tyranny
|Universe of Origin: Halo Universe
|Method of Transfer (inc. damage sustained during transfer/current supplies): Slipspace accident. Those stories about the ships which vanish in slipspace, never to be seen again? The Shadow of Tyranny just discovered what happens to them, they get tossed through the fabric of space and time, breaching the walls of the universe. Luckily, the Shade of Tyranny has arrived in a universe where the rules of physics are still the same and thus their ship hasn't been randomly destroyed, their bodies haven't melted nor have they met any other nasty end.
As with all slip space accidents, the damage is extensive. The Energy Projectors are heavily damaged, only one is still able to be fired and only on it's medium and low settings, not the high setting used for glassing planets. It's reactors are functioning at 78.6% and one of it's store rooms has literally disappeared, taking with it the majority of their anti-matter charges. Some of the armour plating on it's port side has been torn off, and two of it's port hanger bays have recieved heavy damage. There have been significant losses in life (Much to Luka's dismay, there are still living Brutes on board). It has also lost the majority of it's escape pods as many jetisoned for unknown reasons during the transfer, leaving just enough escape pods to carry about 310 individuals if they attempt to maximise the usage of space, which is nothing compared the crews number. This has left his fleet to fall to the control of another Sanghelli, and Luka is hellbent on finding a way back into the war zone

|Ship Specifications:
Length: 5,346 metres (17,540 ft)
Width: 2,118 metres (6,950 ft)
Height/depth: 700 metres (2,300 ft)

Combat systems: Pulse laser turrets
Plasma Torpedo's
Plasma Turrets
Energy projector Times 2 (Damaged)
Antimatter charge (Main supply lost, limited available)
Defensive systems: Shielding
Thick Covenant Alloy Armour
Other systems: Repulsor Engines
Comms system
Detection systems
Life Support Systems

|Crew: 5,000 + 20,000 (Fully staffed) 5,000+15,402 (Current Staff) 20,402 (Current total)
Crew composition: 3141 Elites, 3051 Brutes, 3352 Jackals, 2339 Drones, 7482 Grunts, 508 Engineers, 529 Hunters
Additionally, there is a small 400 meter Covenant Agricultural Support Ship (The "Spirits Sustenance") docked, as it's slipspace drive was damaged in combat with a human fleet, and a Stealth Corvette (The Stealth Corvette is in the second port dock, which is depressuried and thus requires EVA units in order to reach it for the moment. It has also lost it's shield generator but it's stealth systems remain operational) There are also Two Light Cruisers (300 Meters long and 145 meters long each, The "Silent Prayer" and The "Pilgrims Solace") inside it's bays
It contains three Scarabs (The Fourth, fifth and sixth were lost in slipspace and the third scarab is damaged and requires repairs), 50 Spirits, 50 Phantoms, 121 Seraphs. 30 Choppers (Again, much to Luka's dismay at the savage vehicles) 20 Prowlers, 80 Ghosts, 40 Spectres, 41 Revenants, 32 Wraiths, 57 Banshee's, 100 Banshee Intercepters (IE: Space Banshee's) Total: 624
Other: 100 Orbital Insertion Pods, 40 Heavy Orbital Insertion pods, 10 Covenant Boarding Craft, 9 escape pods

Major Characters (More may be added in time, and minor characters will come and go without being added here. I am not going to add Flipyap the Grunt who appeared for two posts and then became another faceless mook xD)

+Name: Luka Loramai
+Job: Zealot (Supreme Commander)
+Description: Muscular and standing at roughly 7'7 tall, his mandables have many feral looking teeth, and he is missing a tooth on his lower right mandable that was knocked out during sparring, along with a scar on his chest he recieved from the same fight. Despite being an enemy of humanity, Luka has shown a willingness to cooperate with them when there is a mutual goal or objective, and holds a grudging respect for the humans. He has also shown a willingness to permit those serving under him to use human weaponry when there is no other weaponry available, an act that would usually warrant a charge of heresy. Some have called his faith into question as a result of this, but his actions in the Human-Covenant war have been louder than these voices thus far, and those under his command vouch for his zeal. Being a swordsman, he took the "ai" suffix to his name instead of the standard "ee" when he entered military service with the covenant.

+Name: Fal Refumai
+Job: Zealot (Field Marshal)
+Description: Slightly taller than Luka, with a more muscled body and standing at roughly 7'9 tall, his mandables are unscythed and contain many sharp, pointed teeth. The definition of a zealot, Refumee holds an excessive zeal that makes his own lance nearly unbreakable in morale. Despite Refumee's excessive zeal, he has formed a close bond with Loramai to the point Refumee is willing to risk his own zeal being questioned by vouching for Loramai. He serves as Luka's second in command and fills the important role of Field Marshal. Fal Refumee is also eager to return to the war, though mostly because he knows his role has now fallen to a Brute Chieften and would rather his beating heart torn from his chest than to know that savage was in charge of his men

+Name: Ripa Lodamee
+Job: General
+Description: Slightly smaller than the other two high ranked officers at 7'5, but with a much larger ego, Ripa Lodamee is a skilled tactician and warrior... and unfortunately, he knows it. Even for a Sangheili his ego is crushing, he loves to tell proud boasts about his own exploits, while claiming responsibility for others successes and down playing any achievements he can't claim credit for. While the other two see only the need to return, Ripa Lodamee sees a new oppurtunity in this galaxy. A galaxy that they could dominate. He disagree's with the other two that they should return to their own universe in order to continue the Human-Covenant war, thinking that it is all well in hand, and instead believes they should find away to bring more forces here and conquer this universe instead.

+Name: Zuka Zoramee
+Job: Shipmaster of the Pilgrims Solace
+Description: Standing at 7'6, Zuka Zoramee is a competent Shipmaster known for inspiring loyalty and courage in his soldiers through excellent leadership. Though he is more lenient, make no mistake, he does not tolerate insubordination or cowards. If you violate the Sangheili code of honour, you will find no friend in Zuka regardless of his lenience compared to other shipmasters

+Name: Lyacktanus
+Job: Shipmaster of the Silent Prayer
+Description: Standing at 8'8, Lyacktanus is the polar opposite of Zuka Zoramee, instead inspiring loyalty and courage through fear and an iron fist over his underlings. Brutal in his execution, Lyacktanus allows no room for failure and does not believe in second chances, failures never become successes. If you fail under Voro, you can expect to find yourself dead, stuck in your current rank for a very long time, or if you are lucky booted over to another ship.

+Name: Dayap
+Job: Acting as Ship master of the Spirits Sustenance, officially a grunt Ultra
+Description: Dayap is essentially the acting shipmaster of the Spirits Sustenance, which is potentially the most important ship that the Shade of Tyranny has been fortunate enough to bring. It has several levels and provides enough to see at least part of the crew through, the rest can be traded with. Although it's hardly going to supply them with enough food to camp out, it's still vitally important. Dayap is like most grunts in the respect that he can be cowards, but at the same time, at the rank of Ultra, he has seen a lot of combat and can be extremely tenacious.
