I dunno what to putThe Mountaintop kingdom doesn't really have a lot of landmass or anything, so they're much more limited in terms of what they can do in colonization. Unless someone comes across and seemingly-impenetrable mountain range and decides to ring up the Alackians because of it, there's probably only a small chance of them actually colonizing the new continent.Due to the size of the map, will there be another new continent to colonize on the bottom half of the map?

The UK of Great Britain set up 13 colonies om the west cost of the US, and others in Canada, many dozens in Africa and in India. Their Empire outstripped the other european empires, many of whom had larger home provinces and populations

Also, your countries position and geography might be beneficial to colonisation, as you may need less men and people to defend it against other powers and can thus afford to send more out to the colonies.

Besides, you could also do with spending that money on expansion in other area's, such are your relatively low GDP
Uh... I just checked how much 100 pound was in this time period...

Well, they wont be protesting anymore, and will have a lot of money to spend.
Thanks from the crown

To the esteemed Cartographers

I was impressed with the craftsmanship of the map, and am pleased to inform you that we have received it without incident and are able to begin our colonisation efforts in earnest
Attached to this envelope is a lockbox containing 400 million in notes, as compensation for your current efforts.
I look forwards to much mutually beneficial arrangements in the future.

Many thanks,
Empress Emmeline Wight

Settling the rabble:

The Ministers meet quickly to draw up plans and figure out what the protestors want from the government. They realise money may soon slip through their fingers..

Subsidies and taxation

In order to grow its economy further, the government has set aside 10 billion to subsidize heavy industry, 5 billion to subsidize farming and 5 billion to subsidise mineral production. The government has given the Empire Trading Company (Empowered Company) 5 billion in funds, hoping that the higher profits will encourage the company to expand further... And given the massive amount of funds, hopefully a lot of expansion

The peoples package

To help settle the people, a sum of 100 per head has been given to the people. (Resulting in a loss of 850 million)

"Ladies and Gentlemen, men and women" The spokes person said, as he read off the page "I am honoured to inform you that your great service to the nation, is appreciated by Her Majesty's government. To show their gratitude, they have returned to each of you, one hundred coin. Consider it, a tax rebate. The coin shall be delivered by hand, by members of Her Majesty's tax collectors..." He paused before continuing, and it was clear who he was talking to when he cast a glance to the town squares resident pick pocket, who had been in and out of jail several times over the last decade "... Who will be accompanied by members of the City Watch..."

Expenditure:
400 million gift
850 million peoples package
300 thousand colonial package
25 billion total subsidization package

Total spent:
26,200,300,000

Remaining funds:
24,799,700,000

Other non-expenditure:
Deposit of 4 billion into the national reserve

Remaining current funds: 20,799,300,000

National reserve: 4,000,000,000

Lol
Let them die for their country!
Hm, one of my islands looks to be in place to become a trade hub if I play my cards right.

MONEY! lol
Perfect. I will make my first post later, and send across my colony fleet. I cannot wait to gain a great man and use them to get me some cool tech to shove those natives off me landz

*rubs hands together*

Yes, colonies and land and riches and power
Good to hear.

I have a protest to end, a continent to colonise, trade to step up and an empire/alliances to build, muhaha
