Morito gladly took the armored blond woman's offered hand smiling, glad to have an in with this group so quickly especially since many of them seemed to have strange and unusual powers. At the least one could seemingly light her arms and presumably other things on fire and one seemed to be just a large, talking skeleton. Morito didn't actually find this sort of thing very unusual anymore. He'd seen enough to know that things like magic, psychic powers and ancient deities existed and that there was far more to all of it than even someone with his level of worldly experience had yet seen.

When the strange little bird flapped cheerily around Morito's head his smile was completely genuine. It seemed cheery and adorable enough and it was more than welcome in such a strange setting. The man with the afro seemed nice enough and the bird's trust in him made it seem he was at least not obviously evil, nor did he seem to radiate any hostile intent, at the moment anyways. The glimpse of his strange tattoo put Morito on edge. It was clearly out of the ordinary, and it felt too similar to 'Dead Language' powers he'd encountered in the past to not make him more than a little wary, even though not everyone who had exercised such powers had been evil in his experience. He thought he did a decent job of disguising the reaction anyways.

"Y-yeah, we can be lost together at least! My name's Hayama Morito, and I'm a student at Mikado Academy! I-it's nice to meet everyone!"

Morito used the nervous bow he made to study everyone he hadn't taken notice of thus far. The skeleton and the man who claimed to be from outer space seemed the most concerning so far. Morito didn't buy his act of innocence for a second, and even if he was 'just' serving his country great atrocities had been committed for just that reason. Although, the tall one with the fancy coat and needle hair seemed...off somehow? Perhaps it was just his own long history of accomplished lying, but he felt there was definitely more to the man than his ditz-like exterior suggested. The floating DS-playing girl was definitely strange but seemed not threatening...yet anyways, while the shouting one called Nobuo seemed like the energetic hero-type. The glasses one dressed like an old-fashioned RPG mage was intriguing but had said little since Morito arrived.

This was...an interesting group to work with, although Morito had done more with less. For now he'd maintain his child ruse until he had a firm grasp on the situation and exactly why they were here.Plus, unless there was a truly pressing need for him to fight, it would be better to see what his new 'companions' would do. Thus, after completing his introduction he stuck close to the blonde woman in armor, feigning nervousness. After he found out what they were doing here, he would escape along with whoever else here wasn't obviously evil, then make sure those he cared about were safe.
Morito might even drop the child pretense to join in if things got difficult. Not sure how much he'd contribute, but still.
Morito will hopefully be fun to play and read.
"Wh-where is this place?"

Hayama "Master" Morito-formerly known throughout the world as a legendary mercenary, teacher and bodyguard-was well and truly lost. He'd woken up a short while ago not at all where he expected to be, and his search for answers had left him even more puzzled. No one had made demands or announcements or even attempted to interrogate him after he'd awoken, nor was anyone attempting to restrict his movements so far all of which ruled out several possibilities. In addition despite his having operated all across the globe and even in some very remote, hidden, and even ancient places, none of what he'd seen so far had matched up to any location he knew. Oh to be sure, bits and pieces of it matched up to things he was familiar with, but that was the strangest thing of all. There was no consistency to it, as if buildings from all over the place and maybe even through different time periods had just been snatched up and deposited here, without even getting into the weird, alien designs woven through a lot of it. The only reasonable conclusion he could come to then, was that he was no longer on Earth, or at least no place on Earth he recognized.

That left a much more interesting problem in the form of the small group of people he'd just stumbled onto. From what he'd overheard they all seemed just as lost as him with no clear links between them other than all waking up as he had. Still, it would pay to be cautious just in case things were more dangerous with this group than they initially seemed. Thus, Morito chose to approach them under a guise of weakness while conducting reconnaissance. Playing into his appearance to put a group at ease was a tactic that had become a specialty of his, a secret weapon even!

Because Hayama "Master" Morito-a mercenary with decades worth of skill and experience feared throughout the world-seemed exactly like a harmless little boy.

"U-um, e-excuse me but I'm l-lost and alone..."
hopefully me too
hmm...I guess that could make sense, since he's making Naoto and himself separate from the main group, the main group separate from him and Naoto and disguising his attack all at the same time. If nothing else it gives him somewhere to go later on power-wise. Plus I don't want him to be some super-duper powerful Mary-Sue-whatever even if he's more than competent for a thirteen year old.

Now just trying to decide if Naoto's latest tactic should just hit him and be the end of things.
Waitin' on Hasayo
*Name: Hayama Morito

*Universe: Gun X Clover

*Appearance: Just a harmless kid, right?

*Personality: Morito often seems like a perfectly innocent child, perhaps even weak or naive and certainly harmless even if he claims to be a rookie mercenary. The truth is that he's much, much older than he looks, and this cutesy and inexperienced attitude is a front he deliberately plays into in order to better disguise himself. His true nature is that of a legendary soldier-of-fortune with decades of experience and a reputation as a sometimes extremely harsh but also extremely competent instructor. Despite behaving jaded and world-weary he cares deeply for anyone he considers a comrade and for people in general, especially children, and threatening others is one of the easiest ways to get to him. Though he won't always admit it he believes that everyone should have a chance to live a happy and carefree life but that those who trample on others dreams or spread war for fun or profit should be harshly punished. When angered sufficiently he enters a "Demonic Drill-Sergeant" persona that mixes the savagery of a berserker with a cold, calculating, even sadistic edge, becoming entirely focused on brutally punishing his targets.

*Powers/Skills: While in most ways an ordinary human being Morito is also a mercenary with decades of experience in combat and enough skill as a soldier of fortune to be one of thirteen people in his world to attain the status of "Master", a person entrusted with officially ranking the skill level of other mercenaries. He is skilled with a vast multitude of armed and unarmed martial arts as well as being beyond expert with firearms and weapons of nearly every kind, although he prefers close-in combat unarmed or with knives. In addition he also possesses expertise in ventriloquism and mimicry.

While he is still an ordinary human in many respects, his strength is far beyond normal for someone of his apparent age. He's able knock full-grown men out in a single punch or take on multiple adults in hand-to-hand combat with ease as well as firing heavy caliber weapons without difficulty despite his small size. His speed and training allows him to dodge bullets even if taken by surprise and his endurance when in full-on "Demonic Drill-Sergeant" mode is such that he can survive being shot eighteen times in a row or an indirect hit from an anti-tank rifle and continue fighting.

When severely injured or angered his "Demonic Drill-Sergeant" persona surfaces and along with a change in personality Morito becomes much faster, stronger and more durable, able to move faster than even someone with his same level of skill is able to react, survive seemingly lethal wounds to continue fighting and dislocate the limbs of three experienced soldiers in an instant.

*Brief Bio: much of Hayama Morito's life is surrounded in mystery, but what is clear is that he was an abandoned child soldier taken in and trained by the legendary mercenary
Sayuri Higuchi and fought in numerous conflicts across the globe until eventually achieving his status as Master, making a name for himself as in bodyguard and hostage rescue operations. He was sent to investigate rumors that his mentor was brain-washing children to act as terrorists and suicide bombers. When he found that the rumors were true he flew into a rage and supposedly both he and Sayuri died in the duel that resulted when he tried to arrest her for her crimes.

The truth is that he actually survived that engagement and shortly afterwards went into hiding as a hopeless rookie student at Mikado High School, a school for future mercenaries and unusual children. There he was made the special bodyguard of Nanase Kotonoha, a girl with the ability to act as a respository for dead languages and the various magics and powers they control, called 'Language Grave'. Morito has since been protecting Kotonoha from attacks from various people who want to control the powers contained in 'Language Grave'.
