Strix had gotten fairly fed up with Pariah's training exercise and decided that since his fellow non-powered hero was willing to go to lengths as serious as sending an invisible operative with live rounds after him, he might as well go all out as well and make this a last push now that he was free. Using a mix of running and quick pull-forward motions from his grapple-gun he charged into the fray. He opened with throwing a handful of explosive pellets directly at Bastion's barrier, but mixed a stun-pellet in with the bunch. Even if the force of the explosion combined with Plasmus and Redeye's stymied attacks didn't break through, unless the trainer had made the barrier opaque and soundproof the pellet would hopefully break her focus.

Next he lifted and swung off of the ground using a grapple-line while throwing twice as many freeze pellets at Extrusion as he had at Ember. He wanted to make the Elastic hero practically useless with cold contracting his molecules and figured that even if Ember could get to him and fire flames to counter the effect the sudden incredibly cold burst would still accomplish the goal long enough for Apogee to break free and finish the fight.

Finally as he completed the arc of his swing he launched himself through the air at Colossus. As he did so he pulled out a pair of stun guns and though he'd been hesitating to use such a level of force throughout the exercise, the vigilante turned them up to the second highest setting. While the giant trainer's size would certainly provide protection from any normal stun gun, Strix had customized this pair to be individually used on super-powerful foes. With both of them he was confident he could bring the giant down even if he grew further in size. Considering he was still quite upset at the recent threat of assassination and the defeat of the trainers was paramount, Strix did something similar to what Pariah did and fought dirty. Specifically he'd aimed his attack and its' accompanying electrically induced pain at the giant's groin..
Name: Jack Yatagarasu

Age:9

Gender:Male

Appearance: The face of a serious and competent mecha pilot, totally

Personality: Jack is hyperactive and energetic in the extreme and basically believes himself to be a "Soldier of Justice!" and "Warrior for Peace!" among many other things, all of which require an exclamation point when spoken. While he's not quite naive enough to think of war as a game, he insists that being a Mechanical Frame Pilot requires things like coming up with names for your attacks and maneuvers that you can shout out during battle, talking to your mecha like it's a living thing and boldly announcing your arrival, preferably accompanied by a theme-song or a cool nickname. Regardless, he puts a lot of attention and time into caring for his mecha and training for battles and is not quite as dense as he seems. Most of all, he longs to make friends, having often enough given up the chance in the past in order to focus on piloting.

History: For as long as Jack or anyone who has known him can remember, he has been obsessed with giant robots in general and Mechanical Frames specifically and though his ideas on what it meant to be a pilot were a little strange his hunger for the subject allowed him to advance rapidly through school as long as he could keep mechanical frames in focus, though other areas of study barely held his interest. He immediately volunteered to be a Mechanical Frame Pilot in any way he could and practically begged until he was admitted to a pilot school despite his youth and inexperience.

Mechanical Frame

Appearance: Lots and lots of gun

Weaponry Jack's Mechanical Frame is a unique customization meant to function as an anti-armor or anti-artillery Hunter-Killer, with most of its' systems designed for that role, though it also can be used for mid-to-long range fire support or skirmishing against enemy Mobile Frames.

Laser Rifle- one of Jack's main armaments, this high-powered laser rifle is designed to melt through artillery emplacements and heavily armored mecha with equal ease and the ability to focus its' beam means its' effective at a variety of ranges.

Gatling Piercer-This shoulder mounted weapon flips forward when in use and launches large armor piercing projectiles very rapidly. The intense heat it generates necessitates additional external heatsinks.

Multi-Missile Launcher-A second shoulder mounted weapon capable of firing up to seven missiles at a time.

Heat Breaker!-A secondary function to the mecha's external heatsinks that Jack has dubbed 'Heat Breaker'. the Mechanical Frame can focus all of the stored-up heat from its' weapons and core and vent it into a powerful, incinerating stream. While it's effective only at very short ranges and was initially meant as an emergency measure against over-heating, Jack often uses this unusual feature to compensate for his mecha's complete lack of close combat weaponry.

Assault Rifle-Jack's sidearm is a mecha-sized assault rifle capable of firing in single-shot, burst or fully automatic.

Sensor Array-The horn on Jack's Mecha's head is actually a sensor antenna capable of sending out scans in a wide range to find potential enemies and sync with Jack's weapon systems for more accurate targeting. It is even capable of using its' sensors to see through obstacles to prevent ambushes or hit through concealment.

Jack's mecha actually has no real armor and shielding in order to make it maneuverable enough to outflank heavier mechas and get inside the blindspots of artillery emplacements despite its' heavy payload. Other than Heat Breaker, it has no close combat weapons.
Think my issues are resolved more or less and I'd like to be back if you'll have me.
Prospero had stopped laughing by now and picked himself up off the ground, "With the sort of insight you've been showing I'm a little surprised you haven't figured it out yet. But since I did promise and I got fun out of the deal I'll be as direct as possible, 'kay?" after taking a moment to dust himself off and summon up some dignity and seriousness, he turned back to the assembled 11th generation candidates "My name is Prospero Merlin and I'm your Mist Guardian! It's nice to meet you! As for why I set all of this up, well like you just said, I was testing you."

As he continued to explain himself, for at least a second Prospero's light-hearted tone faded away and his eyes glittered cold and hard beneath his mask. "See, I have important goals of my own in the underworld that the various Famiglie call home and I can't afford to serve under the sort of Boss who would only get in my way, or ally myself with the Vongola Family if it chose someone like that as a candidate to lead it. Getting others involved was regrettable but necessary if I wanted to see a real reaction from you and test your limits, nothing more, nothing less."

Prospero brightened up immediately afterwards, the change noticeable even underneath his mask "But the good news is you passed with flying colors and nobody was ever in any real danger from the very beginning! The rest of the audience just filtered away 'cause of hypnosis and a few other tricks while disguised by an illusion. By now they're safe and sound and probably talking about how amazing it is that I could teleport them all out of the show or something. But I don't really know why it didn't work on those two..." He indicated Michael and Artemis with a frown before turning back to Naoto "Now, any other questions from you or the others? I don't usually do Q&A sessions after my shows, so consider yourselves lucky!"
That sounds...AMAZING!

Will post as soon as I'm actually awake.
right, doing better now and have returned much, much sooner than expected.
Morito stared up at the huge building towering in front of them, having followed quietly along until now. The Oasis certainly was an interesting sight compared to the buildings around it, and it might even make a decent base of operations while they figured out what was going on in this bizarre place. That is, if the entire building or parts of it at least weren't one big trap. Sure, the door had been locked but it was so incredibly conspicuous that it had to have something going for it, and Morito's first assumption was that it might be some kind of threat. Still, if he was to stay with the group he would probably have to go inside and just remain on guard.

He inwardly winced as the odd, pale type corroded the door away. While it solved the problem of how to get inside, it made the building just that much less defensible in the future. Though given that some of these people possessed powers currently beyond his comprehension it might not matter as much as he'd like.

"So who do you think built this place? It doesn't look exactly like anything else around here, but I don't think you'd need a hotel in the middle of...wherever we are, right?"

Morito made a show of peering around at everything curiously with little regard for his own safety and running on in ahead of the others in the manner of a hyperactive child while actually doing his best to scout out the area for ambushes and hidden traps.
*Name: Mushuro

*Age: 9

*Gender: Male

*Appearance: I deliver swift justice in the night, nin nin!~"

*Class: Ninja

*Equipment: Aside from his outfit as pictured above, all Mushuro carries is a colorful umbrella that he uses to dispense JUSTICE! in the form of well-deserved smacks. Secretly the umbrella contains his ninjato, which he only draws when well and truly angered by extreme evil.

*Abilities, Artes, and Skills: Havoc Strike, Crow Blade, Void Slash.

*Personality: Despite being a child and a prodigy of a ninja trained in arts of assassination since his earliest days, Mushuro considers himself a noble Hero of Justice! He's full of fiery passion for defending the weak and the innocent and striking down evil. If he happens to do this before evil can even see him coming, well that's just efficiency! He prefers not to draw his sword or kill if he can help it, although truly evil and cruel persons might find he's not nearly as soft and cuddly as he usually seems. When not acting the role of a Hero of Justice, Mushuro likes food of every kind although he rarely eats meat, and long naps are a specialty of his. Despite having formidable skills he has little worldly experience, and while not exactly dumb he is a little bit naive.

*Brief Bio: Mushuro was raised and trained by a harsh and brutal clan of ninja isolated deep in mountainous jungles, but has recently escaped from them to go out exploring in the world. Having heard tell of the Empire's wicked doings, he's set out to find any information he can on them and find a way to punish them, from the lowest soldiers all the way up to the top. Currently he has no idea how to actually do this, and is more than a little distracted on his path of Heroism while prioritizing all of the amazing new things he's learning about the world.
right, posted. Will be more regular from now on.
Prospero actually saw Naoto's strategy the second he started wrapping his hands, but he had also noticed something much more pressing and interesting. Even if it was only for a few seconds while the young magician was running three deceptions at once, the future Vongola Boss had somewhat pierced the illusions and figured out that both his tactics and the disappearance of his friends had all relied on tricks and misdirection.

Clearly the eleventh Boss candidate was sharper than Prospero had initially given him credit for, and his own ability with illusions was still weaker than it had to be. As a magician who staked his livelihood and his pride on an ability to read and trick others, he considered an error that complete to be both rare and inexcusable. Furthermore whether Naoto had already realized it or not, Prospero had said that seeing through his tricks was one of the possible conditions for a 'victory' for Naoto, and the masked boy intended to stand by his word.

Unfortunately, he had also underestimated exactly how fast Naoto could attack him. Before he could even mention that Naoto had already won, the soccer star was rushing him. While Prospero's training certainly gave him decent reflexes, between preparing to end the fight with an explanation and maintaining the illusions he was totally caught off guard. He flailed with the cane without thinking and got caught in the feint Naoto had set up, ultimately getting knocked flat on his back while painful, painful stars bloomed up in his vision. However, in the end being fooled and losing so thoroughly for the first time in years left just one thought in his head.

That...was really, really fun!

As the illusion faded out and they both returned, Prospero started laughing. Not the sort of low, evil chuckling that he'd gone for before but actual, happy laughter. He had assumed he was in for yet another disappointment with his little test for Naoto, and his expectations wound up being exceeded. Sure, it meant that Prospero himself was much weaker than he'd thought, but for the first time in years he finally had some direction. Better yet he'd gotten to play around with someone interesting while acting like a ridiculous villain, even if they didn't see things like that, plus if everything worked out he would no longer have to work towards revenge alone. He couldn't help but laugh in joy.

"...You know, you're actually a lot of fun! Saying stuff like 'Don't underestimate me!' and charging in all concerned for your friends? Pretty awesome! Anyways, don't go thinking you beat me outright, but I promised you answers if you could see through my trick, right?"
