I'm interested in trying to make Damian fun and likable then.
Who's still open?
hmm...but we're not sure who's still here, right?
Maybe we can keep this going even! yay!
Guls stepped up to the buffet table where it seemed like most of the fighters were gathering, still suppressing the slight urge chuckle while remembering what had happened during the small Plantian's match. Guls had rarely seen such creative uses of the duplication technique in a match. Still, for his purposes now it wouldn't do for the other fighters to see him laughing. Instead he stepped just behind the young Saiyan girl who had lost her match while also still regarding the other fighters. He closed his eyes for a second to reaffirm his purpose and feel out the hearts and strength of the other fighters to the best of his ability before proceeding. "Girl, you desire to become stronger, do you not? If your heart burns with the same desire to better yourself that I think it does, I can show you how to become truly strong." Guls turned to the former champion and his young fan as well, though he pitched his words so that the fighters around in general could hear him. "If you want to walk down a path of victory, I can show you where to start. There are secrets to fighting in this world that go beyond what you can achieve with physical strength." Guls pulled his cloak around himself in a slightly swishy motion that had served him as a general 'mysterious person' gesture in the past, making a show of levitating a bottle of water up from the table, uncapping it and taking a drink all without moving his hands both to emphasize his point and refresh himself. "In any case, none of you have to decide now but my offer is open at any time during and after the tournament. Think on it well." After that he grasped the water bottle in his hands and folded his legs into a meditative position, sitting there drinking water while floating just slightly off of the ground. Now that the second round was about to begin, he would need to rest up and prepare. He doubted his next match was to be as easy or merely annoying as the one with Slapstick and he would have to work hard if he wanted to gain any students through the tournament.
Also the tournament rounds should get progressively shorter since less and less people are participating with each round
We did already take it up with the GM, he ruled that whatever people wanted to do was fine, and I respect that which is why I haven't been trying to convince other people not to write in collab posts if that's what they want to do, unlike half of the people here who seem to be hellbent on trying to change my mind to their preferred writing style.

It's not about making the fight shorter or longer for me, it's about giving other characters and players more of a chance to react and interact while it's going on. It feeling less aesthetically pleasing to me personally is a minor and ignorable issue. The implication that you think I prefer PbP fights just to see my avatar more often is kind of dumb though.

Anyways, considering there's already been a GM-ruling about this that says everyone can do what they want as long as they work out something agreeable I'm really getting tired of discussing it and I'd appreciate it if we didn't have to keep doing so

. If you guys want to write collab posts for your fights, that's fine. I don't mind and I've had fun reading them in the past despite my personal dislike of the format. I have tried Titanpad before and dislike it, but thanks for the suggestion.
It also has to do with the fact that I find collab posts to be huge borderline unreadable messes for me personally, but that's a smaller fact compared to considering how shifting the post-by-post-ing to PMs would possibly change the speed at which responses happened, which seems to be people's general complaint about PbP formatting? It's the same thing except that it doesn't come out all as one huge looking post and it doesn't deprive people of the chance to react to it on a blow-by-blow basis rather than just a longish "yep, that was cool" summary that makes everything huge walls of text.

Stop trying to change everyone's minds around from things that they feel already work for them for their own reasons, or this OOC thread is literally just going to be the same few conversations and arguments repeated over and over XD
Maybe, but it's not necessarily the center of this as an RP even though fighting is definitely part of it. Actually contributing to a decent story or stories should be at least part of the central deal. So a character randomly taking off to go do a solo 'kill all the evilz everywhere' story by himself could potentially be pointless and counterproductive.

both are good points. honestly I'd like to get this tournament stuff done quick so everyone can interact. Either that or the GM starts off the 'arc' plans and the audiance members can start on it first to give them stuff to do.In fact that would solve both problems. Get the arc started with the audience members noticing something off and work that angle with them while the tourny people are still in the tourny and join later or whatever when things hit the fan.

This would be fine by me if it solves everyone's problems. It's not like I like the situation either and hopefully it'll be better once this is over with, but forcing collabs wouldn't fix things at least on my end.

Or, you know, he could give us something to do? Not everyone needs to be gathered at the tournament, it's not impossible to have something happening elsewhere to give the rest of us something to do. Just saying.

Again, that sounds fine by me if it makes everyone happy, but take it up with him. I don't have anything to do with how this stuff is organized, y'know.
