I hope it was okay.
Good post, Fatal
I didn't originally intend for this but as the post sort of wrote itself, it seems my idea of 'get my character introduced' was "fall off a building" and I didn't so much run into someone as fall in a heap at their feet. XD
Luce-Upper City
The world may have ended, but for in many ways life still went on after it relatively unchanged. The ordinary people that remained afterward still got up in the morning, greeted their neighbors and went about the various chores that made life livable. Such children as were still around continued causing trouble and playing, although hopefully only in safe areas where the sorts of nasty things that always appeared when a world ended didn't happen to lurk. At night, people would still go to bed tired but content to have another day behind them, hoping that in some way the next day would be better. Yes, even after the end of the world, people will still do their best to live.

For Morph, that meant waking up on the crumbling rooftop of a building that was once a thriving little shop but had been twisted and fused into the sort of vague abstraction that even the kindest of art critics would probably consider a little bit excessive. In fact the boy had been considering painting the building himself when he'd suddenly realized that the little partially broken section of roof seemed perfect for a nap. 'Perfect' for napping in this case meaning it was remote enough that no one with any sense was likely to wake Morph up in the middle of it, at least without plenty of skittering rock to alert him first. But he'd been woken up anyway by a strange and irritating dream, no doubt caused by choosing the wrong rock for his pillow. Morph wasn't too fond of the little townships that had been built in Upper Luce in the wake of the world's ending, mainly because their inhabitants didn't seem too fond of him since he was a homeless vagrant.

Morph was about to start out on another day exploring what was left of Luce, raid some of the abandoned shops for supplies or maybe paint the poor building after all when he heard the distinct noise of a person walking on the street right below him. As Morph leaned over to check it out, the ledge he was balanced on finally crumbled and fell, taking him with it. Perhaps it was just luck, but Morph didn't fall nearly as hard as he should have and mostly righted himself before he landed, still tumbling in a heap on the ground right in front of the girl who'd been walking the shop-lined streets beneath him.

The wandering boy dusted himself off and grinned at Elle, as if falling from the sky were an everyday occurrence for him.

"Oww!~ hey there, My name's Morph. I hate to bother you, but d'you happen to have any food? I...kind of haven't eaten in days."

Iron Fist is the Den Mother for the Teen Titans I think. This should be fun.
The boy looked up at John while stopping to lean heavily on his cane, confused for a minute before managing to crack a smile at the echoing parrot and the other birds all perching on the apparent ornithologist. When he actually spoke to John, his voice was oddly hoarse, like he hadn't used it for a while.

"'M'fine. You're from the hotel or somethin' right? Does that mean I'm close to it? 's'been....five days I think, heading mostly inna straight line from where I got dropped off? Name's.." He seemed to think something over before continuing to talk "August. August Lim. I like your birds mister, they're mostly parrots, right? I've seen lots of parrots before and fed some out of my hand but not all of them looked like those even though some of them did and there were lots of them on my way here. It was...really hard to resist hunting them on the way here for food but I couldn't remember all the different ones protected under the law and I don't think it'd be very good to eat endangered birds unless I was really starving and they were easy to catch, so mostly I ate fruits and bamboo shoots. Are those raisins? I hate raisins but I think I'd eat anything that wasn't boiled bamboo shoots and I'm pretty sure anything includes raisins now. I'll share them with the birds if you want and could you point me in the direction of the hotel because I think that's okay and I'm really tired..."

It seemed that now that he had someone to talk to, August kept having words flood out of him without really being able to help himself.
"I'm not a school child, I'm a dectective and a youkai hunter!" Jun protested as he slid into a seat next to Hanako. Well, he was a school child really, but it was important to be a professional when you were on a case and today definitely seemed like a professional day to the nine-year-old. He liked Yumiko considering she was generally nice and usually smelled like flowers instead of cigarette smoke, although truthfully since he mostly associated that particular smell with home these days he didn't hate it nearly as much as he pretended.

As he buckled himself into his seat he pulled out another ofuda from the pocket-dimensional depths of his jacket pockets and slapped it onto his seat belt where it glowed slightly before sticking in place, then did the same to Hanako's seat belt. once that was done he suddenly seemed even more excited than he'd been before, wriggling in his seat despite his earlier attempts at professionalism.

"Are we gonna go soon? I wanna see this mansion!"

There were other reasons he was excited for the trip, but he'd lived with Toshiko for long enough that they didn't seem worth mentioning.
A boy relaxed in the shade of one of the bigger trees in the area, though he was seemingly young enough and just far enough away from the more civilized areas of Museum Island that the sight of him was probably unusual based solely on the fact that he wasn't screaming for help or crying instead. There were actually several more unusual things about the napping boy, if anyone bothered to look closely enough. He was tanned enough to potentially pass for some sort of jungle native, but underneath several layers of grime he was apparently wearing what had been a white T-shirt at one time and a slightly torn up pair of what looked like blue jeans. Even more confusing was that despite the tropical heat, close examination would show that he was lying on a long jacket that had been spread out on the ground over a pile of leaves as a makeshift mattress. If only because of its bright color, the metallic blue crutch leaning against the roots of the tree was probably the most notable thing to anyone watching.

After a while the boy propped himself up against the tree, grabbed onto the crutch to haul himself up, then used it to pick up his jacket and shake it with an odd sort of flicking motion, in case anything else had thought it was a good place to nap. Then he put it back on despite the heat and started limping his way slowly toward the inhabited parts of the island, eyes sweeping the ground and the canopy but otherwise seemingly taking a cheery stroll through the jungle.

His parents always did pick the best vacations.
good to know thanks
Right, that's good because for the way the opening looked I thought it was gonna be an NPC Red Tornado doing that. Also are signups going to close any time soon?
