*sigh*
I think we are all waiting on duck who probably has a real job.
Assuming we do use this map I designed the lands of the Drakun Republic. Forgery is hard. Let me know what you think.

Ready to be edited. Just lemme know where people should go, and I can do all that stuff easily.

I'm not sure if the map will work with the different Nation lores, which is why we have had problems getting a map. Things should be fine.

EDIT:

Also, @Iluvatar you missed a small but very important note when building your nation, nothing against the rules but rather important.
8-9 traits is probably the maximum if you want to avoid stability concerns(stability being rebellion and the likes)

That and you kinda took a few traits that might not stack, e.g. Outdated Army & What is Gunpowder?
I think I will pass on the contest, as cool as it would be to rp as Blue I have a raptor character I've been meaning to flesh out.
Guys, only accepted apps in the dump. Should have said that.

Sorry about that.

EDIT: My nation is finished.
If this is still a thing I would be interested.
Nation Name: The Drakun Republic

Flag: "Honour the Heart of the North

Form of Government: Heroic Electorate

Describe the System: The educated lower and middle class citizens in conjunction with the entirety of the upper class elect a council of 12 who are the primary source of governance and federal policy. Below the council are elected counts whom manage the nation on a more local level. However in dangerous or adverse conditions it is the duty of the council with advisement from the counts to appoint a thirteenth councilor, the Archchancellor. This Archchancellor only has one vote on the council but is allowed to present bills at any time, veto bills not passed by a majority of three quarters, declare when the situation has reached, martial, grave, or critical condition and finally to single handedly work with Military Command without war being declared or consultation with the full council.

Location on Map: North-East Island

Capital: Unitys' Rubble (so named as the final pretenders castle once stood here. It was later refitted into a monument.)

Important Settlements:

Port Ice-Wind: Located on the northern shores this is a major source of fishing and ship building for the republic and is easily the second largest city, boasting more culture than industry.

Port Rupert: Located on the River Carver this is the industrial capital of the republic including the famous/infamous Dark Steel company which while not an empowered company is by and far the most powerful in the republic. Home to the Great Bombards, both a major cultural location and a very real, very powerful fort.

Mount Nathan: After the final "Crusade of Unity" which formed the republic, Military Command moved their HQ to Mount Nathan. Decades later it is more a myth than written fact but a proud city now spreads out from the southern side of the mountain. Boasting the least crime in the republic this is the throne of nationalist spirit on which the council depends upon to maintain its integrity.

Description: The Drakun Republic is incredibly proud for such a small nation and due to its various "crusades" its military stand among the best of the best despite being small compared to other great powers. The national currency of Ducats has been reformed to follow production of food and tools similar to how some nations follow the gold standard. Culturally the republic is diverse but Unified with the monuments of Mount Nathan and Unity's Rubble as central tenants. Economically the republic can hold its own but sitting in northern waters has made it difficult at times to attract trade leading to the push for increased nation industry and farming. Citizens are all required to have a rough education and basic military training before entering the electorate.

Important Characters: Since the end of the "crusades" many major characters have been diminished in public history, however the names of many militant heroes are still kept in local cultures. The widest example of this is Nathan Wells after which Mount Nathan is named. Figures like this are used to justify the Archchancellor position which hasn't seen major use since the last war.

Nathan Wells: It is said that after the loyalists lost the Third Battle of The Great Mountain (now Mount Nathan) that Nathan, a mere solitary soldier, disobeyed direct orders and charged the pretender army to cover the retreat of General Jackuel Zirigma, allowing the army to regroup and eventually conquer The Great Mountain. Without his sacrifice in the mountain pass the pretenders light cavalry would have ridden down the fleeing loyalist forces.

Jackuel Zirigma: Not much is know about this revered military strategist but during the later "Crusades of Unity" he was made a Commander-At-Arms and would have gone on to receive the title of Archchancellor if the then Archchancellor Methious Balsis hadn't miraculously recovered from both the his injuries and later his infection. While he failed to push through socio-political reforms such as a more open foreign policy his at times bazaar tactics did promote questioning of tradition which helped solidify the Renaissance in the Republic.

Traits:

Elite Army -6 (S): The "Crusades of Unity" elevated mere men to godlike stature in the eyes of his countrymen, while the wars have ended the spirit behind their victory never has.

Small Army +2: While citizens are required to have military training to vote they often do not stay in the army due to large business and farming subsidies used to keep the island nation self-sustaining.

Militias -1: Not being in the army proper but still looking to capture the nationalistic spirit many citizens turn to the local watch groups and reserves which are managed by counts and mayors rather than the Military Command.

Landlubbers +1: Ships are expensive and the cold north water has a habit of damaging them, as such the public military training skips actual ship work in favor of more reliable land based models. Needless to say there are certain problems when making the transition to reality.

Off the Beat and Track +2: With the risk to ships and a lack of "exotic" good many merchants simply go elsewhere for goods. Lower taxes and discount prices have failed to garner a meaningful change to this.

Renaissance Men -2: Being cut off from less civilized lands and boasting a long and rich culture the republic has allowed artists and scientists to themselves with only minimal state and church interference. Blasphemy is blasphemy but saying the Earth revolves around the sun is science.

STATS NEED TO BE ROLLED
I'm new to this forum so I'm probably just missing something but why are there two threads for this? Or is this the discussion and the other thread is the game?

I've been meaning to try a Nation RP and this looks both well built and small enough for me to handle. WIP is below and I will try and finish soon.
