Re'areh. (Re-area)
A large bustling city of market stalls, shipping ports and various lively activity.
It is surrounded by high mortars placed long ago. They bring comfort and protection to the denizens and seem to make all of thoughts of danger distant.
Or did.
Years ago a terrible calamity occurred.
A litch of powers unrivaled appeared from some dark corner of the world, bringing with her a swarm of undead creatures, spawned hellbeasts, and nefarious demons. She brought everything thing thought to be legend to earth.
Though this was not all bad.
With the new enemy, something else was brought about. Mana.
The energy spawned in all living creatures it allows for people to do wondrous things originally not thought possible.
Using the new raw energy, humans fought back, driving away their new antagonists to bring some sense of safety back to the land.
Heroes were made, and unmade. The battle lasted many long years. Generations passing and going,Though the lich survived, her refactory in some lost crypt deep under layers of earth and cold horrors. It was an endless cycle of armies raising and falling, give and take between the two apposing forces. Her lust for knowledge control and power did not cease, and she pulled the human race deeper and deeper into insanity. Things changed, places started focusing on battle and nothing else. People born were soon to be people trained, and people trained soon to be people sent to battle.
Until, silence.
A massive trapping spell casted by two of the legendary arch-mages, and three of the four great witches.
A large net of pure magical energy held the Lich down, her power with her. The souls of the brave 5 became her tethers, chains that binded her from her assault.
Now things are better, changed, but better.
Peace has been restored, more generations have passed and the ways are starting to return to their original form, but not all.
Many young people, if their family is traditional, are trained from a young age.
It has become a right of passage to be a fighter, and thus many young adventurers have spawned, going out to slay the remnants of the lich years.
Though to some of those adventurers, that was not enough. A simple hunt for a purpose drove a few mad. A group of renegade "heroes" went searching. Searching for a way to bring back the times they should have been born in. The times of the lich.
Finding the sealed she-devil they went to work. Secretly helping her to drain away the barriers power, destroying it in and out, putting all people to shame. Bringing about the next calamity.
And now they are back. The living corpses, the fire breathing devils, the beasts from down below.
And they are starting their march. Coming straight for your home town, they are close.
You, the ones raised of tradition, the heroes who will take stead instead of those who came before. You are the first line of defense.
You, we. Must stand united, to hold the line and stop the Lich from coming back to full power.
We must hold together, hold strong. We must protect this town of ours, our home.
We must not falter.
Even if the walls crumble.
So there we go. The premise of our story. We are a group of people who must stand relatively unprepared to face a massive assault of monsters. Batling swaths of enemies we have to push through, and find a way to either seal or kill the lich once more.
It'll be a rich full day i'm sure.
RULES--
Common guild rules apply, this means:
No power playing
No god-modding
No sex in the IC or OOC
Keep arguments to the PMs as well
Don't auto hit
Play fair
Don't pet the unicorns
Gm and CO-Gm rules are law
And try not to use a swear word instead of the spacebar, we have a dictionary for a reason.
I may update the rule list later, though this is it for now. Basically if you think it might be bad to do something, don't. Just don't.
Extra things to know:
Time: While this is nearly all a fantasy RP, I will change the rules slightly. Things like clockwork handguns, steampunk shotguns and the such, are totally okay, just remember they are sort of a commodity. So even if you want to have some things like that, I want it to stay limited.
Monsters: As hinted in the story section, monsters have existed even with the lich being absent. So yes, your character can have some experience with them, though again, they all live in a safe town with high walls and stationed guards. Just as the advanced weapons, keep it somewhat limited.
Races: Standard fantasy races apply, if you have some others to try out I will be pretty open about ti. I myself like to use obscure races and such so I feel leaving it quite open is not only fair but interesting and advantageous. That being said keep things within reasonable limits and don't make your character supper overpowered just because they are some magical rainbow farting super-man race.

My characters:
Appearance: Standing at a moderate height with pale skin, the boy has long wispy white hair down to his earlobes. His eyes are large and sterling blue, he has elongated ears that look alike to an elves, though are rounded at the end and are shorter. His canines are a little long compared to humans, and he has a toned build. Not being particularly muscular or terrible thin, he lies in a decent middle, best being described as lean. He wears a tunic that is made of thick leathers and thin metals. It is covered by a long coat of white with black linings and charcoal baggy pants. Many little metal trinkets are stitched and attached to it, and a set of multiple belts wrap around his waist. He has big black boots of a thick material, the have a big silver buckle on their high left side.
Name: Joshua B. Streinfield
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Personality: A bit recluse, he doesn't go much out of his way to be in the spotlight. He is agreeable and gets along with most people, though has some difficulty starting most interactions. He can be headstrong and overconfident, and isn't the first to follow the rules. He "doesn't lie, and bends the truth a tad" Though most of his intentions are noble or well-willed. He prefers to keep peace and highly hates internal conflict. Willing to throw himself into danger for others he is still filled with fear easily. The kind to start sweating over jumping off somewhere high, then being the first one to do so so no one else has to.
Title: The nightcaller
Magical abilities: A great control over dark and light magics he uses spells based around night and day. Having some healing ad offensive capabilities he fights at close or mid range, keeping allies safe and keeping enemies not so much. His mana source is a bit large, and he is known to spam his magic due to his confidence in that fact.
Physical capabilities: Not the strongest or fastest fighter he uses his magic to keep himself up to par. He is used to getting in and out of fights and is thus can be described as nimble. More flexible than one would assume at first glance he is good at slipping through tight spaces and traveling odd terrain with a fluid motions. He may not be able to lift a heavy blade, but he can run up and drop an enemy holding one faster then you could swing the thing.
