I believe it's a pretty serious tone... but there should be off time to goof off I suppose. and the clock things basically fall under the steampunk genre

If we had some of that clockpunk stuff too (where the stuff runs on clockwork style with the big gears and stuff. For like massive siege towers or something) that would be cool

Mmm, that was an example mostly but I was just wondering, knowing where and when we are helps for creating characters and such. Oh and tone, knowing the tone helps as well...

I'm just wondering cause there are many different types of fantasy...
I would find it fun to go for the sort of samurai champloo thing, where pop culture and famous people from recent times are totally relevant in a past, and cultures from all over are sort melted into one, and I think there might have been some neat technology too, something kinda broad and open to be played around with. People still going by medieval ways, throwing around swords and fireballs, where a dude with a steam punk shot gun is totally still the norm, and Spanish folklore exists alongside western stuff.
