Dealing with a lot of work from uni right now. Probably won't get any roleplaying done for a while. Why can't there be a major in uni about roleplay?!

@Comrade Doge Well, since this rp will be following the story of the Young Gods as they try to fight against those in the Inner Circle and whatever the heck is out in the Wasteland, I guess it'd be somewhat of a crime rp. Rebellion and all.

I'm not sure what you mean by factions. There's the Young Gods and there's the Inner Circle, which controls the government and military in the Badlands. Would those be considered the factions?
What do you mean by crime rp? I think this is more like survival/gang rp.

This city is disgusting; a corpse of what it used to be
The people are filthy, gluttonous
Welcome to the Badlands

It has been a almost a hundred years since the Badlands was created. The last of the first generation had died, and the youth of the third run rampant in the streets. There is nothing beautiful about the Badlands. It wasn't an oasis. It wasn't a utopia.

The people don't remember what the world used to be like before the Badlands. Some say it was heaven. Other say it's worse. All they know is that whatever's out there is grueling sand and deadly shadows now - the Wasteland. Those who run the city try to paint it as a haven - that they should be thankful that they're not out in the Wasteland - but the people see it for what it is. The government that lords over them is corrupt, running the poor dry when there's barely enough to go around. The shadows that lurk in alleyways are no better. Faceless, they take what they want no matter the cost.

Nothing can enter the Badlands, and no one can leave. The people are damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Since almost everything I have on rpguild is Halsey-based, why not a roleplay group based on her album? To be honest, I draw a lot of inspiration for this rp from The 100 and The Village. I have this rp like thought out in my mind, so if you have questions I'd gladly answer them. I'd love to hear suggestions and a co-gm probably.

Sooooooo... Read a little bit of the book already and scrolled through the wikia. I'm gonna make some changes to Ant's CS before I post. Would it be possible for her to be sent to Coates Academy at first but when she emancipated herself from them, she moved out of the academy? She'd still be affiliated with the Coates as she'd made some friends there. I was planning to start her out by hanging around the Perdido Beach School.
It was a beautiful day in drab, uneventful Solis, Ohio. Harley Peyre had arrived at the gates of Solis High School an hour early as per usual. The high school in the early hours was somewhat peaceful - almost serene. There were only a handful of students shuffling in the hallways that would soon be filled with the flock of the student body. Harley wasn't fond of the stillness. Nothing important happened this early in the day, and she would rather spend her time hanging around her locker and observing the masses. Still, she had responsibilities. She was part of the school paper and the student council. That meant having to wake up dead early and report for duty.

The student council president drawled on about stuff the rest of the council knew by heart already. The school's foundation week would be coming up in the following month and they needed to work out a budget for that. There was also prom, which they still needed to pick out a theme for. Honestly, Harley wasn't even listening.

"... new student and we need someone to show her around."

Oh? That had caught Harley's attention and she sat a little straighter. A new student this late in the year? And in their droll little town? Call it a journalist's intuition, but Harley felt as though that new student would be interesting. Perhaps interesting enough to write a mind-blowing article on. Oh yes, she loved the idea of that. Before anyone could attempt to, Harley had her hand in the air and offering to be the new kid's guide, much to the surprise of the rest of the council. She paid them no mind, too focused on the idea that her mind was conjuring. Just who would this new student be?

Half an hour later found Harley loitering outside the main building, searching the students that entered the school for a face she didn't recognize.
Ooooh yes. Camp rps. Interested.
Opened up Mouth Full of White Lies and Feelings That We Hide.

Bump.

character originally created for straight for the castle

Name: Harley Peyre
Age: 17
Gender: Cis-female
Sexuality: Bisexual

Personality: The first thing people notice about Harley is that she's ambitious. There's not much that would stop Harley from trying to achieve her goal, even sometimes developing tunnel vision because of it. She's reckless in the sense that despite sensing danger, she'd jump straight into a situation if it means she can get something she wants. Harley isn't quiet. She's exuberant and outgoing, and this sort of optimistic and lively attitude has gotten her quite a number of friends and close acquaintances. Connections, as she'd call them.

Harley is honest to the point of being tactless. While some might find that trait of hers endearing, her mouth has gotten her in more trouble than she could handle. Despite it, there's no fight that Harley turns her back on. Her pride and loyalty might actually be the death of her some day, but if you ask her, it would be all worth it.

History: Harley has lived in the small town of Solis, Ohio her entire life and she's sick of it. She knows who everyone is and what everyone does every second of every day, and the normalcy has become something unbearable. Harley has big plans to be a part of CNN, get her name out there and win some awards. She can't very well do that when the only news-worthy thing that happens in Solis is the annual chili-eating contests, which is more disgusting than interesting. Still, she's hoping that as soon as she finishes her high school education, she'd be able to get a letter of acceptance from a university in the big city where all the news are.

Name: Gwendolyn "Gwen" Thurston
Age: Appears 21 (actually 70 human years)

Species: Leanan Sidhe

History: Spawning new muses took a toll on their creator, so most never bothered. But Henrietta knew that their numbers were running low and that soon, they might find themselves facing extinction. Gwendolyn's "birth" fell on a harsh winter day. As such, the townsfolk of Chestergrove didn't notice the bright light engulfing the small cottage north of their town border. They did, however, grow wary of the new girl with dark hair and shifty eyes that walked around with the woman that looked like an absolute goddess. They crowded the newborn Gwen, causing her to lash out. Henrietta took her away from the town, keeping her in the cottage in the woods. There, Henrietta trained her for decades on the cultures and mannerisms of humans.

For humans, it was enough to forget. For Henrietta and Gwen, the time that passed by seemed nothing more than a blink of an eye. Thirty years after her birth, Henrietta allowed Gwen to try again. Gwen integrated herself well into the small town and quickly found a budding young man with the potential to be a magnificent writer. Gwen seduced him - changing her appearance to suit his tastes, using the charm of a muse, all the things Henrietta taught her - and it worked. He was in love with her. When the time came for Gwen to take her first taste of his essence, she couldn't do it to him. She ran away.

Henrietta had been furious at Gwen's incompetence. They moved to another small town, Seymour, where Henrietta kept Gwen locked up again. Forty years later, Henrietta is prepared for Gwen to try again.

Name: Avery Grant
Age: 19

Species: Kitsune

History: Avery was born like most others, a typical human. Her parents were businessmen who often had to travel to places all over the world, and would sometimes bring along their only child. It was on one such trip to Japan that Avery found herself changed. A ninko, a mischievous invisible fox spirit, possessed the body of the three years old child. Her parents had been terrified because of the different stories that revolved around the ninko, and they immediately took Avery to get the spirit out. They soon became aware that the spirit had been looking for a home - for what, the elders were not sure - and had bonded with Avery, giving her the powers of a kitsune.

As Avery grew older, she showed the signs of her possession in the most troublesome of ways. The young girl would often shift into her fox form and breathe tiny bolts of lightning at the other kids or creating illusions to pull pranks on them. She was often reprimanded, though, and as she matured, she learned to control herself. It became apparent to her that the spirit infused in her body had become her. There was no separating them now. They were the same person - the same soul.

Still, being born human, Avery only has some of the powers of a kitsune. Her lifespan is long, but she is not immortal. She can shapeshift into a fox, but without the nine tails. She can breathe lightning, but only when in her fox form and it is limited in amount and strength. She can create illusions, but they require an obscene amount of concentration to maintain. The only kitsune ability in which she is not hindered in is flight.
