Would a Psion be an acceptable class?
I sent you a message regarding Revenants, Draco.
As perfect as Johnny Joestar would be for this RP, I'm afraid I've not yet read up to Steel Ball Run, and I'd be unable to do him justice. I will keep thinking for a character to play, however.
Yes, I do think I'd prefer to play as "new blood," as you say. I already have a character formulating. When character sheets are available, would it be possible for me to write up a character mostly unknown to the rest of the players/characters, and then fill you in on their details privately?
I could be interested, but I'd like to hear more details about the setting and the plot. We're for certain playing former members of the Vigil? Meaning that we would be experienced Superheroes (or what have you), and this would be a "getting the gang back together" sort of affair?
Name: Unknown, known by some as "The Reaper," among other sobriquets.

Appearance: A massive, intimidating man, he stands nearly seven feet tall and his muscular body weighs approximately three-hundred pounds. His face, creased with age, is locked into a grim, stoic stare, and his pale eyes are said to bore into one's soul. His rust-colored hair is long and tangled, and his ruddy beard is short-trimmed and tinged with silver. Numerous scars are woven across his thick frame, though most are concealed by his long, dark duster and matching wide-brimmed hat. Beneath his duster is a simple, sleeveless shirt, a thick scarf, canvas trousers, steel-toed boots, and no less than four under-arm holsters.

Gender: Male, probably.

Age: He has been haunting Western Civilization for more than four-hundred years.

Race: Unsure of what he really is, some have taken to calling him a Revenant.

Biography: Many pasts are attributed to this ageless, deathless man. A knight of the Crusades. A soldier of the Hundred Year's War. A marauder of the Caribbean Sea. An outlaw of the Wild West. All of these, and more, are a part of his long history. Though his titles and names have been many, some things have never changed: he cannot be killed, and he cannot be stopped. Some say that he is a cursed soul, doomed to wander the Earth for eternity. Others argue that he is merely a ghost that does not yet know that he is dead. Regardless, this restless Revenant seems to find purpose in standing as a barried between mankind that which lurks in the darkness. To those that would strike out from their shadows, he offers an eternal rest, with no room for negotiation.

Personality: If he were ever human, whatever remnants of human logic and morality have long since left him. In its place is an alien sense of duty and justice, twisted by experiences that no mortal man should ever have, much less occur repeatedly. He is curt, resolute, and almost completely without sympathy or remorse. However, he is not an evil creature (as far as most can tell), as he stands opposed to injustice and the inhuman monsters that perpetrate it. Those he finds to be in violation of his personal ethical code, he hunts down without pity or mercy, employing every tactic he knows for destroying an enemy in body, mind and soul. It is well that he holds humanity in such high regard, as he would be a dangerous foe to mankind if his values were less altruistic.

Weaponry: Combat knife, .44 Colt Anaconda, .44 Mateba Autorevolver, .45 Taurus Judge, .45 S&W Model 625JM

Other Possessions: None

Theme Song: Ain't No Grave (Can Hold My Body Down)

Miscellaneous: He speaks several languages, though French seems to be his most fluent.
Any word on my CS?
This I will take the time to better explain.

The Overdrive isn't a single spell, but numerous different spells that operate on the same basic principle. Each technique and effect is its own spell, they are all just closely related in their metaphysical mechanics.

The vampire killing relies on the "associations" of the Life affinity. Vampires are undead, which is the polar opposite of Life. The spell essentially works like 1 + -1 = 0 and destroys the undead by metaphysically neutralizing them. "Revive kills zombies," in other words.

Hmm... one of the reasons I was okay with Hanako is because she's not very good, and that a lot of life spells would probably not be easy to perform. What exactly did you have in mind?Life is kind of an easy affinity to break.

Well, have a look for yourself.
Name: Giovanni "Gio" Giorno

Age: 19

Appearance: At 6'2'' and 213 lbs, most people are smart enough not to criticize his fashion sense.

Personality: Gio's mentor (and mother) Maria Giorno described him best: "A genius at cheating, who should not be released into human society under any circumstances." Gio is a far cry from his long and noble ancestry. Mouthy, arrogant, undisciplined and short-tempered, it takes the slightest provocation to get him to pick a fight with somebody. This problem is only compounded by his ruthless effectiveness in combat. His razor-sharp observational skills combined with his natural tactical talent give him an almost supernatural intuition. In addition, "playing fair" is something that Gio firmly believes is for suckers. If it means winning a battle, he will use every cheap trick at his disposal, and then some, using every possible means at his disposal to achieve victory. This resourcefulness makes him almost completely unpredictable to compete against, as one can never know what crazy scheme he has up his sleeve.

Abilities: An inheritor of the Life affinity, Gio mostly uses it though his family's signature technique, the "Overdrive." The basic idea of this technique is transmuting mana into life energy, which is then infused into another being, with varying degrees of control and power. This can have a wide array of effects on beings alive, dead or undead. Short, controlled bursts can repair damaged tissue or revitalize mostly dead cells. Greater bursts can "overload" the systems of living creatures and effectively paralyze them by de-synchronizing their minds and bodies. Extremely precise releases of energy can trigger the bio-magnetism or bio-electricity of most living things, and allow such feats as hypnosis, walking on water, or the climbing of sheer surfaces. The Overdrive is extremely lethal to undead creatures such as vampires or zombies, as it dissolves their necrotic flesh in much the same way as sunlight. The energy of the Overdrive courses through Gio at all times, giving him uncanny strength and resilience. While the Overdrive can be sent through inorganic material such as metal or stone, it only has any sort of noticeable effect on organic materials (which are also far more conductive to the Overdrive), so these substances are used as mediums for ranged attacks at best.

Weapons/Equipment: Gio usually carries bottles of Overdrive-conductive oil, several different fireworks, steel crackers, a Swiss army knife, and a pair of goggles. He also drives a motorcycle on occasion.

Brief Backstory: Born as the heir of a prestigious lineage of Italian vampire-hunting Magi, Gio spent most of his youth in Rome, flipping skirts, getting into fights, and generally causing trouble. He blew off his practice of the magical arts, as he possessed a natural talent for it, and was capable of using an unrefined Overdrive from a young age. His younger days were spent unconcerned with the struggle against the ancient vampire clans that threatened many societies. However, this changed with an organized attack on his family's compound by a small army of vampires and their servants. The were eventually repelled, but at the cost of the lives of most of his family. Gio decided to take from this that he must learn the true nature of his family's magic, so that he can continue their traditions, at the very least. After a few years of training with his mother, he was deemed to have a sufficient grasp of the Overdrive, he set out on a reconnaissance of the supernatural world, which led him to his association with the Fu Sonzai no Gensō detective agency.
