"Welcome to the Xavier Academy for Gifted Youngsters. Here you will be granted the best education along with room and board. We ask only that you follow our rules and do you're best for us, yourself, and our cause."That was the message you received upon being granted entrance into this wonderful school for mutants. It's the standard greeting after all. Here you learn more than simple mathematics and grammar. You are given a home. A family. And training to control the gifts granted to you. They may seem more like a curse, but if you trust in yourself and those around you you'll see that there is a reason you were born with the abilities you were.
Still there are many who choose not to learn how to properly use their abilities and rather than utilize them for the betterment of mankind try to prove their own superiority. They attempt to do as they please believing themselves to be above the rest of humanity. This is another of our responsibilities. The protection of humanity and mutant rights. Mankind may not be ready to fully accept us yet, but they will in time.
So there you have it. It's fairly cut and dry. This is an X-Men RP. I'd like it to be low casual. Just something for fun you know? I'd rather it focus a bit more on the daily life of the character and maybe introduce a main antagonist and plot objective later on. For now I think it would just be nice to have an RP to play around with and play out the character's growth and interaction with others.
Rules:
1) I accept ideas and suggestions, but I do have the final say. Depending on the subject at hand I may put it to a vote if enough people are into a certain topic. However, always keep in mind that I am the GM and I do hold the power in this RP.
2) As far as characters go I believe it goes without saying that I don’t want to see any godmodding, powerplaying, overpowered characters, Mary sues, Gary sues, etc. So don’t do it.
3) I want characters to start off at a fair and somewhat even level. I want them to have room to grow not only personality wise, but power wise as well.
4) Please keep arguments to a minimum in the OOC. If it has to do with RP I will try to help resolve it. Otherwise, drop it or take it to PM.
5) As heroes we won’t be killing. It’s kind of hero Code. Although we may be forced to break the rules if necessary so some of us may need to be prepared. Still primarily the rule is no killing until I say otherwise.
6) Please be active. I understand that there are times when we cannot post or things come up. RL is important. You don’t have to talk about it if it’s personal, but drop a message or something if you can.
7) Be sarcastic, be playful, do whatever to have fun and enjoy yourself so long as it isn’t at the expense of someone else.

He’s about 5’7” weighing at about 135 lbs (mostly due to muscle)
Name: Alexander “Alex” Walker
Alias: I’ll think of one later.

Gender: Male
Abilities/Skills: Alex is skilled at the following:
- Cooking, So he isn’t a gourmet chef, but he can hold his own. He’s pretty good.
- Fighting, though he is generally a street fighter who incorporated some martial arts influences into his combat style. It’s flexible and adaptable.
- Fixing things, this ranges through many areas. Plumbing, cars, toys, bikes, etc. He studies it because he likes working with his hands.
Powers: Alex was born with the power to control temperature. Many may think this seems useless when you just hear it, but it is way more than they think. Heat, Cold, Fire, Ice. It’s his to control. He can burn you to a crisp just as easily as he freeze you solid and shatter you into tiny pieces. Raising his body temperature to melt even metal with a touch or lowering it to simulate death. Creating Flame or creating ice. With the right skill, discipline and ability he could become an extremely powerful mutant.
At least that’s the theory. For the most part he can’t control his powers at will. In theory he could simulate the powers of iceman or the human torch. Soaring through the sky while coated in flame or riding along a frozen path while covered in an armor of ice. However, he can only really utilize his powers through touch. He needs to touch things with his hands. With more training he’ll be able to hold much more control over the surrounding area without any effort, but just channeling it through his hands is hard enough. There are certain cases in which he puts out more power accidentally, but that’s just it. It isn’t in control.

Weaknesses: The given one is that he is only human. So things that can kill a human would kill him. But here are a few more specific ones.
- Emotional connections: Alex’s powers have a connection with his emotions. There have been times when he was depressed or angry and the area around him began to rapidly drop or raise in temperature. This wasn’t very comfortable for those around him. So if he loses his temper too much in a fight the temperature will begin to rise the angrier he gets. Or feelings of deep depression cause the temperature to drops. If his emotions get out of control his powers might to. This can even fluctuate with his feelings if he’s just plain freaking out.
- Rash behavior: being that he tends to let how he feels about things guide his actions, Alex can end up doing or trying stupid things. Even if it’s for good reason behavior like this could get him hurt or even killed.
- Kids: Okay sounds weird I know, but Alex has a soft spot for kids. He could be in the worst mood possible and he would still be the first to try and help a kid because he can’t stand to see kids sad or hurt or anything. He always tries to make things better. Make ‘em laugh, help ‘em find their parents, Keep ‘em safe. He’s just too nice some times.
- Guilt: Due to his unfortunate past Alex doesn’t seem to think very highly of himself. You can see where this would be bad. Even if he acts all happy (Okay he’s kind of a jerk) and normal you might think some of the things he does are almost suicidal and the way he talks to. “So what if I die as long as…” etc. You get the point.
Equipment: Alex doesn’t really carry any weapons or anything. But he has a picture of his parents that he always carries with him. Either in his wallet or pocket. He always has it. The sides are kind of burned. Just a bit. Other than that nothing much else.
Relationship: He’s taken. Or at least he will be.
Personality: Alex is pretty much a nice guy. He’s nice to just about everyone unless given a reason not to like them. It’s just how he was raised. He tries to be friendly and help to most of the people around him. Still he kind of has this thing. It’s like… He doesn’t care if he dies… Like he holds other people or things’ lives as of greater importance than his. He wouldn’t say it and would deny it if brought up but sometimes he can be kind of obvious. {Probably be better played out in the IC}
History: Alex doesn’t have much of a history in his own opinion. In fact, if you ask about it you’re get one of two answers. A lie or avoidance. It’s generally a lie making his past up to be something awesome when it wasn’t. See he developed his mutant powers early. Very early. He was 8. Before that day he’d gone through hell. Ages 1 to 4 were fine. Really they were. For the most part aside from a bit of yelling there were no problems. Age 5 came and he started school. Now Alex had been a pretty sheltered kid. And kids are cruel. They made fun of him for his unnatural hair color and his eyes. But they were five. Teachers and adults wrote it off as childish words with no meaning. But the next year came and things got worse. The next year he was seven. No friends. Kids thought it was like a disease. His eyes and hair. They were unnatural after all. It was kind of a trait from his father’s side. It wasn’t a dominant gene, but it was still present. Alex just happened to end up with it.
When Alex turned 8 the kids were still… Kids… Cruel. They probably didn’t mean to hurt him or want to be mean. They were probably playing. But one kid took it just a bit too far. It was all fun and games until Alex took a rock to the head and started bleeding. He started to cry. In response, the kids huddled around him to try and see if he was okay, but when they got closer they began to slowly freeze. One by one. They probably never meant to hurt him. Only repeated and acted on things they heard their parents say. And it got them frozen. No worse than that… It got them killed. A classroom of kids frozen solid on a playground. The ice cracked… It shattered. Alex had no idea what was happening. That night heard slamming and shouting. His house was being attacked. He was so scared. But nobody could get in right? Wrong.
The townspeople got in of course. His parents were in the attic with him. It seemed the whole town flooded into the house. He was freaking out despite his parents best efforts to calm him. Things were starting to heat up. No literally… Things were starting to burn and catch fire. His home… The townspeople… His parents. That night everything burned to the ground. All because of bullying brought on by adult gossip and impressionable children. He awoke amongst the ashes. Nothing… Everything… Gone… He cried for nearly half the day as he rummaged through the ashes and rubble. He just wanted to find something… Someone… Anything… All he found was a picture. One of his parents. From their wedding day. They looked so happy. With it being all that was left he took it with him and wandered out of the town. He walked for a while. Three days… Three days and he couldn’t get food. He was along… He couldn’t get help. He was too afraid to. Then he met a man. A rough looking man. It was Wolverine. He brought the kid back to Xavier’s school and he’s been there ever since. It’s more than just a school. It’s his home. He’s here even for holiday breaks. But then… Where else would he go?
