My dad was giving me book suggestions and the converstion of early sci fi and fantast came up. I had this idea

The year isā€¦ irrelevant. The world in split in two. Literally. With a stripe down the middle of ā€œthe middle zoneā€ or as sone like to call it (my main male character) ā€œthe friend zoneā€ on one side is the land of fantasy. Magic rules here. And on the other side is sci-fi this is the land of tehhnology and the futuristic (very anti magic here) both sides hate each other.

What i need:
Im not a sci fi expert. While how the fantasy world works seemed obvious the second i got this idea the sci fi part is still taking a while. Help me with it? Just spill ideas
