Waiting was the worst... well, maybe not as bad as being trapped in the rotting entrials of a massive deceased worm, but other than that it was the worst, and waiting with a ceremony involved was the worst of the worst. (Aside from the whole worm thing.) Chance was slouched over his own fist, cramming his lips up into his eye. He paid heed to nothing save for one thing, his name.

"It's about time," he grumbled when he was called. He had been slumped against the back wall, his sword drawn, his shield easy to hand and slung on his belt, and his pack and supplies slung over his shoulder. Wait... pack and supplies? Was he expecting immediate deployment? He sized up everybody he walked past, taking note to glance behind him as he came. However, something different came over him, something he had never felt before. Loyalty welled up inside of him, a massive well. Just glancing at the others, it was safe to say that he would die for them, he would doom the world if there was a hostage situation and he held the key to survival, he would willingly give it up to a villain if it meant there was a sleight chance that the villain wouldn't kill his new associates anyway. In fact, this loyalty extended clear unto newcomers he had not met yet. He would never accept any slander against them, but would willingly accept any deception on their behalf. He was driven to overcome any obstacle just because they were buds... ur... coworkers?

Rather than a long smeal that captured his personality perfectly for an introduction, he began assessing people in the room if they needed a group of knights to resolve their needs. Maybe 12 pigs needed to be killed in the open territory, maybe somebody lost a broach, or perhaps someone has heard strange noises emanating from an old house. It was a story old as time, boy comes to new place, boy has to kill 12 porcine of the indigenous environment, boy gets items that makes his old stuff look like crap.
Ga! Every time I can post, the site has been worked on.
Character name: Mat Eastridge

Superhero name: Actual name is Barsavis but it isn't like he has it on a jersy or something. Most people know him by his work throughout the ages... the Boogie Man.More intellectual people refer to him as Beacon because he signs his notes -B-

Appearance: Anglo with dark hair. He looks pretty common place for America, wearing jeans and a t-shirt with artistic designs. Easy going with a neat cut of hair and some stubble that could fit in most environments. Is a hoodie addict in cold weather, and loves shorts and sandals in warm weather. Altogether he is not someone who makes much of an impression in appearences.

Costume: A swath of vines, roots and natural growths surround a crystalline armour. Embedded inside, and mounted on his chest is a beetle (hence Bogie "beetle" man.) His spectral form is like his costume, only dark like a shadow

Niche: Covert operations (stealth based telekenetic)

Power Source: Dream

Defining moment:
Barsavis does not have a pivotal moment, per-se, just as a river does not have a distinct moment when rivulets of melting snow suddenly are called a river. However, the time things changed was when he used his powers while awake. He had been told an important message in his dreams that he could use his abilities in waking life... and it was a correct hypothesis. At that moment, the hero he had always been now had the tools to perform.

Supporting Characters: Barsavis has a wife, Autumn. Barsavis believes he has found 3 other supers that do not know that they have similar abilities as him. He thinks that Autumn is the embodiment of the season. His Father-in-law is the embodiment of the winter solstice (Chris), and his mother-in-law is Winter. These characters all function as humans, are humans, and function in human society like any other. However, he suspects that they can control the season if they learn how.
Those strike as creepy and strategic, like a Hitchcock film, and not funny at all. What am I not seeing here?

I think your humor is being lost in translation. Are you meaning that he is a undeniably evil guy that is trying to be "normal" in those situations? Because currently from what I understood what you have down is that he is so cunning and evil that he will use those situations only when he has no other choice and even then he would use them only as a front to cover his true intent.

Let's take the dating situation, your character would simply abduct the woman who catches his eye and rape her until he realizes that she fears him enough to accept his favor.
I'm game to game. Sometimes the best games are those with few. I would say keep it open for when our current interest get going or new people if those who have posted already back out.
My character really isn't meant to be slapstick or straight up silly. I just have getting beat up one of his greatest abilities. He is going to be dripping with snarky comments and kind of lousy at a bunch of things, yet pulling through with uncouth solutions. He's supposed to be a disposable extra from a land of disposable extras in case you didn't read his history.

Good examples of Chance at his best...
-Negotiating with dragons rather than slaying them.
-Stealing skulls and arms of skeletons in crypts before they can become animet.
-Being hell-bent jealously vindictive against an NPC hero that outshines the party.
-Considering retiring from adventuring to farm gold.
-Purposly taking a sleeping drug delivered to the party because everybody else has succumbed to it.
Yay, found Gisk again. I've got some ideas. Hero is a telekenetic/leader. I also have a doozy of a villain...at least I think so.
Okay, let me put it simply. Durun isn't funny. His history is cruel, his personality has no quirks that give me a position to make jokes with, and his abilities are serious. Everybody has that right now, but especially Durun. With most it is like "fun with the Washington Post," even so I can work with that. However, Durun is like trying to make light of genocide. I don't find doing that fun or funny or anything that should be fun or funny. I'm trying to understand what made you say "hmmm... a comedy, huh? I think I will make Hannibal Lector."

Right now it seems to me that you saw something remotely medieval and pulled out a character you have wanted to play for a while. I'm totally cool with that, by the way, I do it myself. And I am not gripeing about your character. I am trying to understand.

So the question I am trying to ask is "perfect situation rolls around for your character to make people laugh. What would it be?"
I could really use some material to go off of. If you folks don't mind sharing something you had in mind, that would be great. I can pick and choose some little things to play off of, but nothing juicy off the bat, Durun in particular. I don't see any jokes rolling around with him that are actually funny rather than just flat out inappropriate or degrading. Could use some ideas, Rabid.
