She did not want to answer this question; especially to someone she did not know well. She simply wrote down: “It’s nice to meet you, Kalinda, but I would really like to be alone for now. I hope you don’t mind.”

So I came to investigate" she found she could lock the girls emotion away, and this intrigued her, like she could store them for future use, strange. "Why are you so sad?"
Sue pulled open her bedside drawer and pulled out a large notepad with a green pencil. She wrote with exquisite cursive: ”I’m mute. I’m disappointed with myself.”
She turned to the next page and wrote: ”I’m Sue. You?” she managed a smile with her sad face.
