“Alright, ten minute’s up. Let’s get to it. Sue! Kijani! You’re up!” Hank bellowed.

He started placing dodgeballs along the middle of the court, simultaneously eyeing the students readying themselves.

Sue beckoned the new boy with black and white hair to come over, and asked for her team to move to their side. Her jeans were just loose enough that they were comfortable and allowed her to move about. She did, however, take off her hoodie, and she revealed her naval only briefly before tucking her tank top back down. Her earmuffs still on, her short figure still an advantage, her athleticism and prowess in dancing still her awesome utility, she warmed herself up.

Hank McCoy, with a powerful leap, jumped to the top of the bleachers, the landing resonating throughout the echoic walls of the gym. He blew his whistle, minding where Sue was, who was just entering, and waited for people’s attention to be drawn to him in the instant.

“Enough basketball and more dodgeball! Last time Sue’s team won and they handled Connor’s team hard. Now it’s a match between Kijani’s team and and Sue’s!

We are looking into the disappearance of Phoebe, but rest assured we will find her. For now, Sue, you’ll need to find a substitute. We have new faces, pick one.

We start in 10 minutes.”

She was still distracted with the mental link that Estella had formed for her that she almost did not catch what Professor McCoy said.

She turned to Anthony for help, and signed: ”I don’t know anyone else here. Who should we get?” she tugged on his shoulder, the proximity between them suggesting a more personal, if not bordering intimate space.

”I think that guy with the black and white hair seems nice.”
