Location: Heading towards the base/Clone with Hideo. Mizuraki Senju
_______________________________________________________________________________
The Senju woman removed the glove from her hand and sunk her teeth directly into her thumb to allow blood to seep freely from the wound. Placing her hand upon the ground Mizuraki called forth her companion: Katsuyu.

The giant slug emerged from the summoning seal that Mizuraki had created and eclipsed most of the forest with her incredible size. The slug, while large and obviously imposing due to her size, suddenly lowered itself toward Mizuraki with a...Surprisingly timid sounding voice emanating from the giant beast. “Mistress. Is there something I can do for you?

Mizuraki blushed at being addressed as such before holding up her hands and gesturing towards the much larger being. “S-Shhh! Katsuyu I told you about this before. Just call me Mizuraki. You don’t need to be so formal.

Katsuyu nodded her head in recognition. “Oh of course, Mis- Mizuraki. I had forgotten your instructions, I apologize.” The Slug now began to take notice of her surroundings. “You must be on a mission of importance, Mizuraki. I haven’t seen you around this many Ninja in quite a long time. What do you need from me?

Mizuraki merely nodded in confirmation. “Long story short. We’re invading a base full of missing-nin. We need your help to cross the sea. You’ll be able to ferry us all across with little to no effort. I know its salt water but I wouldn’t be asking if it wasn’t important.

Katsuyu’s face faltered for a brief moment upon the mention of Salt Water. The slug could survive incredible damage and easily reform itself...But that didn’t change the fact that she absolutely loathed salt water with a passion. “If you think something as silly as salt water is going to stop me from helping you, prepare to stand corrected, Mizuraki-Sama. Of course I will give you all whatever aid I can.

Mizuraki’s smile was practically beaming as she reached out and hugged the very, very large slug. “Oooohh. I knew it! You’re the best friend a girl could ask for!” The brunette quickly calmed herself down and put her game face back on. “Alright, everyone. Let's get moving. We only get one shot at this!

The mission was underway. For better or worse this was the only attempt they would get at this, so every action taken from this point forward would be of the utmost importance. Katsuyu stood remarkably tall and the salt water barely seemed to bother the gargantuan slug. Only Mizuraki would notice the genuine discomfort that was plastered across her long-time friend’s special features. For now as they headed toward the base. She could only hope that the clone assault was going as well as she had hoped it would.

The clone infiltration had gone off well, at least in the beginning. Mizuraki doubted that one single clone would have made much of a difference, though she had to admit that the thought was weighing on her...COULD the clone she had sent off to Shadow Hideo and the children have made a difference? Maybe things wouldn’t have ended in such a sorry state if there was one more body to assist? The veteran ninja always had a problem with overthinking and questioning her own decisions, it was a habit that she was never quite able to kick. However she had to have faith in the children. They passed the academy for a reason and besides her clone would be there with them every step of the way! Even if Hideo was an absolute pain in the ass to work with, she could put that aside for the kid’s sakes.

Mizuraki didn’t say anything to Ichika about the assault, she thought it would be best if they just focused on what needed to be done to make up for their mistakes.

Dammit all! The clone of Mizuraki that she had sent along to tail Hideo bit down hard upon her lip in utter frustration. They had technically done their job, but they also just put every foe down there on high alert. The children were going to be walking into a trap. Dammit, Dammit, Dammit! The clone continued to berate itself before making its way toward Hideo and the children. She emerged from the undergrowth and looked to Hideo and his charges with a grim expression on her face. “I’m going to be coming with all of you.” The clone locked eyes with Hideo practically challenging him to defy her. “I was going to just stay behind and watch Hideo over here. But the situation’s bad, you’re going to need help.” She walked forward and crouched down in front of everyone.

Me and Ichika kind of screwed up a little…” she murmured under her breath. “We got through a great deal of the initial section however. I can easily guide you all through it, but we’ll need to be careful. The enemy is going to be on high alert. The other wave of our clones was detected in the third tunnel, they collapsed the ceiling.” She smiled a bit though. “It won’t be much of a problem though, I can break my way through that stone easily. Just stick close to me and we’ll make it out okay? I swear it.” She looked at Hideo again. “I’m not taking no for an answer by the way. So with that all out of the way are we going to get moving?

This was the test? Just grabbing the scroll? They were going to ace this with ease! Between Naruko’s shadow clones and Gorudo’s admittedly kind of weird, but useful, abilities they’d be able to get their hands on that scroll in no time. And that wasn’t even factoring what Nijira could do. Naruko’s smile grew widely on her face as their sensei retreated into the woods to begin the test properly.

Alright. Let-” Naruko was about to talk up her teammates, no doubt they were feeling the weight of their sensei’s threats and needed a good confidence boost to get moving. However she saw Nijira quickly dart off into the forest after their teacher which elicited a look of short lived shock, QUICKLY followed by pure irritation “WHERE ARE YOU GOING!? DON’T JUST RUN OFF LIKE THAT!” she screamed out after their Inuzuka teammate. A part of her was worried that their sensei would hurt him...However the other half of her was incredibly irritated at the fact that he had just taken off and now was going to show her up in front of their teacher, a fact that made Naruko’s cheeks swell with petulant anger.

The knuckleheaded ninja braced herself and was ready to jump after Nijira! No way was she going to be upstaged by the likes of him, on their first day as Genin, she was going to show everyone, including him, that she was the best of her class! However Gorudo’s words stopped her in her tracks. As impulsive and hardheaded as she was, she did recognize that Gorudo usually had pretty well laid plans and it would be stupid of her to ignore him...Even if she DID have a good reason...She wasn’t going to let Nijira get the better of her, but for now she chose to focus on her friend.

The plan was a solid one from the sounds of it. “I can keep Sensei off of you while you swap out the scrolls. He won’t be able to get past my Wind Cutter.” she said with a confident smirk on her face. “We’re gonna need my clones though. I need to keep an eye on Nijira.” she said that last sentence with a bit of a sour tone in her voice. When Gamaboro was summoned Naruko couldn’t help but smile widely, she loved Gorudo’s little toad companion, he was adorable. Also pretty funny, mostly adorable.

In imperceptible seconds a Kunai with cataclysmic force shot right past them and immediately wiped the smile clean off of Naruko’s face and replaced it with a look of absolute shock. She didn’t know that a simple kunai could be thrown with so much force and so much power, it actually caused Naruko to quiver...Just for a brief moment before she lifted her hands to her cheeks and began to smack her own face repeatedly. She had come too far to be scared off now! She wasn’t going to let this get to her, she refused to go back to the academy, she refused to die here. It was now or never!

The orange-clad ninja placed her fingers into a cross formation and concentrated as her chakra began to well up inside of her, bursting and bubbling from within. “Shadow clone JUTSU!” she shouted out in a fit of pure bravado. She didn’t have to shout it. She just really wanted to. Three individual clones of Naruko appeared behind her and they all, alongside Gorudo, headed into the forest. Only for the clones to begin breaking formation while they ventured further into the forest. One going left, one going right and the other speeding up ahead of the real Naruko to scout. “I’ve got a plan of my own.” she said with a wide grin.

The sound of Lumika’s scream of pain had made Rina’s smirk grow even wider. She knew her target according to her “sensei” was Kimi but she was starting to care less about Kimi and was starting to become focused on this damned upstart who insisted on getting in her way! Hopefully that would serve as enough of a warning for her to go back to their “teacher” with her tail tucked between her legs where it belonged. Now it was time to focus on her real opponent-

Wha-” the word had barely escaped her lips when Lumika’s body was suddenly wrapped around her and once again tossing her like she was nothing more than a ragdoll. Rina’s body flew across the training ground, she had managed to flip in mid-air and land on her feet. Rina skidded along the ground for a few moments before her momentum finally stopped. The Uchiha’s typically cool and cold demeanor had been shaken and replaced with pure irritation as she grit her teeth. She wasn’t going to let this buffoon make a fool out of her! To hell with this test! Lumika was her focus now. Rina lowered her head while doing her best to focus the pure rage filling her body.

Once she had lifted her head the signature eyes of the Uchiha had been activated. The Sharingan focused themselves squarely on Lumika to the detriment of everything else, she hadn’t even noticed the idiot who had jumped from the trees and made some kind of declaration. Nothing mattered, nothing mattered except beating Lumika. “You’re done for!” she screamed out before rushing forward.

Rina sped toward Lumika with reckless abandon. Only briefly stopping her momentum to deal with the clone of her opponent that had begun to strike at her. Rina quickly swung her heel toward the clone’s head and crashed into it with surprising brutality, dispersing it almost immediately. “Out of my way!” once the clone had been dealt with she jumped into the air over Kimi and landed behind her and the clone, staring up at Lumika with a furious expression on her face. The Uchiha then closed the gap between her and the Suna exchange student. Rina hauled back her arm and crashed her fist straight into the blonde’s chest, quickly followed by her building flaming chakra into the palm of her hand. Once her punch had connected she quickly raised her other hand and aimed her flaming palm right for Lumika’s chin sending her careening into the air. “Blazing…” she spoke quietly before using her body flicker technique to jump straight into the air where she was waiting for Lumika to meet her in the air before lashing out with a quick but brutal kick to send her back down towards the earth. “Assault!” she screamed out as her kick lashed out and made contact with the Blonde’s face. Rina was no longer holding back, this wasn’t a sparring session. This was a fight, a fight she intended to win handily.

Everything had been leading to this day. Years of training, of those recurring nightmares that drove her ever forward, of the harsh critiques of her instructors at the academy...Everything that stood in her way! She had finally achieved her goal: Becoming a Shinobi. Sure she was only a genin for now but eventually? She would become the Hokage and then they’ll see that hard work trumps talent, everyone would finally see things her way and she’d keep them all safe. But that was all for the future for now she actually had to get moving. Normally Naruko was one to sleep in and just let the morning pass her by but today she was FAR too excited to even consider doing that. The knuckleheaded ninja practically jumped out of bed and began to rummage through her house looking for something edible.

Eventually after coming upon some leftover ramen. Naruko had, had what she would argue was a proper “Breakfast” and stormed out of her house, still wiping off some of the broth as she went. If Gorudo wasn’t awake by now, she would have to wake him up herself! The blonde ninja sped down the road with reckless abandon and a grin that practically stretched the sides of her face. Today really was the day, she could hardly believe it, it still didn’t feel real.

After collecting (And subsequently dragging) her friend towards the training ground, they came face to face with not only their squadmate but their instructor as well. Naruko’s eyes went wide when the man emerged from the tree and stood before them. ‘Ah...Ah...He’s so...Hot…’ her thoughts were going a mile a minute while her cheeks blushed intensely. This was going to be challenging. Her perverted thoughts were practically destroyed however once the declaration had been made. Either prove themselves as ninja or go back to the academy in failure!? Could he even do that!? They had passed there was no way he’d be able to send them back!

Naruko’s former drooling visage had been replaced with one of furious determination. Her hands came up to her face and she clapped them against her cheeks to psyche herself up. She had been facing doubt ever since she had enrolled at the academy and proved them wrong time and time again, this would be NO different! “Bring it on, Sensei!” she shouted aloud living up to her title of: The noisy ninja. “I’ll take whatever you can throw at me. I’ll prove you wrong just like all the rest. We’re going to be the greatest team that you’ve ever seen!” She shouted while she practically glowed with pride. She didn’t know anything about this Nijira guy but he looked decently tough. She was sure they had this in the bag. “Give us your best, Sensei. You’re gonna need it!” she pointed directly at Koji. Challenging him instead of running scared from the threat.

Mizuraki almost missed that subtle change of Hideo’s face. In fact under most circumstances she probably WOULD have missed that considering how focused she was on the current situation, but she just happened to be looking at him. Was he impressed with her? Or was he just surprised that she was able to string together a coherent thought...Even when he seemed impressed with her he still had the uncanny ability to piss her off. As tempted as she was to just waltz on over there and punch his head clean off his shoulders, she still had her pride and...Well as much of her dignity as could possibly remain after waking up from a night of heavy drinking. The Jounin was admittedly curious about what Hideo could be talking to Ichika about, but it would have to wait.

The time that she had been dreading ever since this mission fell into her lap had finally arrived: Deciding placement. No matter what Mizuraki decided there was going to be consequences and if those consequences cost lives? She would bear them for the rest of her days. It was becoming fairly obvious to her however that the Genin under her charge were probably better off being led into the tunnel. An enclosed space meant that Bakuto would be able to make use of his Taijutsu proficiency as well as his false arm’s tricks. Hiro’s agility based offense might suffer but he would be able to repel projectiles or other attacks in the tunnels as opposed to the massive onslaught he would face were he to sail to the island. And Remi? Remi was very versatile and utilitarian, Remi was the most malleable of the three in terms of approach. She didn’t like the idea of putting people she was in charge of under the care of someone as apathetic and not to mention arrogant as Hideo but it seemed far safer for them to traverse the tunnels than to deal with the frontal assault.

As many scenarios as she ran in her own head to see if there was a way to keep the children by her side she couldn’t really envision one where it ended well for them. They simply weren’t equipped for long range invasions, as dangerous as the underground route will no doubt be it will pale in comparison to the jeopardy the assault would put them in. It seemed she had no choice but to entrust Hideo with their care and hope it didn’t come back to bite her. Mizuraki was so enveloped in her own thoughts she didn’t even hear the furious stomping of Ichika when she started to approach her.

Mizuraki’s focus was still firmly on the scenarios she ran inside her own head until the sudden announcement of violence. “Wha-” she blurted out in utter confusion before watching Ichika pace in pure frustration. Mizuraki’s expression grew pensive while she stood herself up. She could only imagine what he must’ve said to break Ichika’s composure of all people. Mizuraki was feeling infinitely more justified for her earlier irritation with him. “We can take turns.” she said rather matter of factly before placing her hand on Ichika’s shoulder and managing a smile. “Don’t worry though. After this we’ll probably never see him again. And if we do? Well accidents happen.” she was obviously joking, she wouldn’t go out of her way to harm someone unless they were beyond redemption, but she figured the joke might lighten Ichika’s mood a little bit. “Seriously though...It’s like he’s out to push our buttons on purpose.” she was vocalizing her thoughts at this point. “I’m starting to wonder if this is supposed to be a test for us too. Maybe trying to make us lose our cool...There has to be some reason for him being such a bastard right?” She refused to believe that he was simply a bastard for no reason, there was something more to this surely.

Rina would have been disappointed if such a basic strike had caught a fellow Uchiha off guard in such a manner. The smirk that appeared on Rina’s face while the other girl dodged her strike was unmistakable joy at the fact that this wasn’t going to be another one sided battle. “N-” she was about to speak, to pivot to the left and launch another strike but she suddenly found herself grappled. Rina let out a noise of pure confusion before she was tossed backwards like she barely weighed anything at all. ‘WHAT!?’ she screamed in her own head before rolling through mid-air and landing on her feet, skidding along the ground to see just who had the gall.

That idiotic blonde again! She was seriously going to try and get in their way? She had thought her supposed “Sensei” was screwing with them...This fool was going to keep getting in her way? Rina grit her teeth and entered into her fighting stance once again. If she insisted on getting in the way again? She was going to deal with her, herself. The other Uchiha broke away from Lumika and sent a slash of electric chakra toward her. Rina quickly jumped into the air and watched while the chakra flew past her and sliced into the nearby forest, impacting a tree or two as it went. “Tch.

The moment Rina landed back on the ground though, that was when the real attack had made itself known. Kimi had appeared nearby and performed a familiar set of hand signs. Rina’s eyes widened for a moment before she began to counter with her own set of signs...However hers were likely unknown to Kimi, as this was a technique that she herself had designed. “Fire style: Phoenix Protection Jutsu!” she quickly screamed out as her body began to sear with an orange glow. Flames coated her body in a protective layer of chakra. She had a limited time to make use of this ability so she would have to be quick.

Rina threw herself forward with great speed and did her best to pass through the fireball mostly unharmed. The protection of the Phoenix flickered and sputtered while she passed through the great Uchiha clan’s staple technique but it managed to hold itself until she had exited through to the other side. The Uchiha was scorched and scuffed, and panting a bit harder now but she had managed to take the attack exceptionally well all things considered. Rina narrowed her eyes at her target but she knew that Lumika wouldn’t be far behind to try and interfere again...With that in mind she chose a technique that would give that stubborn blonde some pause and allow her to keep attacking both her AND Kimi at the same time.

Rina formed a series of hand signs and inhaled deeply, seemingly charging up a great fireball of her own. However once the final sign was completed Rina jumped into the air. “Fire style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu!” once those words were spoken she began to spit out multiple blasts of fire from her mouth, aiming them squarely at where Kimi was standing.

It would be a bold-faced lie to say that Mizuraki was surprised by Hideo ignoring her, in fact at this point she was certain that he was just trying to anger the leaf shinobi simply because he had the authority to do so. It was genuinely trying her patience but she could practically hear the scolding that Ichika would give her...And the following one that Seiji would give her...AND the following one that Katsuyu might likely give her, it was in her best interest to remain quiet. Botan seemed incredibly nervous and she could quite honestly understand why. This was a difficult scenario to be in, especially when she learned more about just who was involved and the set up the enemies had. It was a bad situation for them. Mizuraki didn’t say anything for the time being...Though when the Kumo ambassador claimed that fighting a legendary swordsman would be fun she couldn’t help but glare harshly at him. This wasn’t a game! People could die here and he thought this would be “Interesting” it took every fiber of her being not to chew him out right then and there.

Despite the Jounin remaining quiet the scolding found its way to her anyway, causing Mizuraki to pout a little bit in embarrassment and avert her gaze from Ichika. She mumbled something that resembled an apology but didn’t repeat it. With that out of the way the serious and focused expression soon returned to the Senju woman’s face as she turned back to the group and brought her hand up to her own chin. “She’s not amphibious.” she said rather flatly. “But Katsuyu is tall enough that she would be able to ferry a large group of us across. Plus she’s able to fight at range and protect whoever she’s carrying. She won’t be comfortable with the salt in the water but she would be able to manage it.” it seemed like she was talking to herself, vocalizing her thought process more than speaking to everyone present.

Mizuraki focused her eyes upon the ground now while they narrowed to a point. “Whoever goes with Katsuyu needs to be able to either fight at range or deflect any possible projectiles that Katsuyu might miss. They also better treat her well!” she got a little impassioned at that last part. “If I were the enemy though. I would be expecting the main attack force to come from the tunnel...After all who is going to seriously sail up to them while they have such a distinct advantage. There’s no way the tunnel isn’t heavily guarded, I would stake my life on it.” Mizuraki finally raised her glance from the ground. “My clones could investigate and probe the tunnel for more information. Or we could lead a clone assault through the tunnels as the diversionary force and let Katsuyu and the rest of the group pick off whoever is left on watch.” Normally Mizu would be giggling like an academy graduate about the concept of chicken summons but not right now. The situation was far too important.

Boisterous and Exuberant are both words that accurately describe Naruko’s personality. She inherited her mother’s outgoing nature as well as a verbal tic of hers. Naruko can be quite naive and believes that everyone deserves a chance to change no matter who they are. She detests the idea that someone has to be talented in order to achieve their dreams, with enough hard work and perseverance anything is possible and no one would be able to tell her otherwise. Her ultimate desire is to become the Hokage and protect everyone in the village...Although there’s a slightly more selfish reason for such a goal: Ever since joining the academy her teachers have doubted her abilities to become a proper Ninja, this ignited her competitive spark and drives her ever forward to achieve her goal.

Naruko’s early childhood was unremarkable for her age. She was born the only child to her parents and as a result she was absolutely spoiled with love and attention, however very early on in her life everything changed for the worst. Unbeknownst to the young Naruko her mother was the Jinchuuriki of the infamous nine-tailed fox: Kurama. On a routine family outing through Konoha the seal upon her mother that kept the beast inside was ruptured. The last thing Naruko remembers is her father desperately trying to perform a jutsu and then a horrifying beast literally tearing through her mother’s body...Before everything went dark. That was the last time Naruko ever saw her parents alive.

When Naruko awoke her parents were gone and the young girl was left an orphan after the Monster’s violent rampage through Konoha. Naruko ended up having to largely raise herself outright denying help from anyone as she dealt with her grief by isolating herself from the village. Locking herself away in her home and hoping against hope that one day her parents would appear and everything would go back to normal, however that day obviously never came. While stewing in her own grief...She couldn’t stop reliving that horrifying night, she couldn’t stop seeing that beast of pure hatred inside of her dreams. Eventually she had a realization: As long as that thing was still out there what happened to her could easily happen to someone else. That this thing could be roaming the countryside killing and maiming however it pleased, the very thought sickened Naruko to her core. Naruko decided that day that she was done feeling sorry for herself, that she was done living in the past, that she would find that horrible beast and kill it to avenge her parents, that she would protect everyone and everything! That was the day she decided to enroll in the ninja academy.

The academy was a difficult phase in her life. As determined and as sure of herself as she was that THIS was where she wanted to be, it seemed she lacked any natural talent when it came to learning the Jutsu required of her to pass. But even as her teachers said that she’d likely never become a proper ninja she persisted, these negative assessments only fuelled her and made her all the more determined to keep training. Naruko became a problem child among the academy as she would often act out, out of pure irritation and frustration with her lack of progress. Eventually she managed to pass the tests through constant practice and became a full fledged Genin. Proving that perseverance trumps natural talent ANY day.

Surprisingly decent at cooking...When she’s not just inhaling takeout Ramen. Naruko is also quite unpredictable. Her unusual jutsu makes her an unorthodox opponent to face off against. She’s also far more clever than anyone would give her credit for, usually able to suss out when she is being tricked or being able to surmise a strategy that would catch the opponent off guard if given enough thought.

Shadow Clone Jutsu: The Shadow clone technique creates fully autonomous clones. Unlike the typical clone technique. Shadow clones are capable of not only using jutsu on their own but are capable of taking much more punishment before being dispersed. The user’s chakra is evenly split amongst the clones and are indistinguishable from the real thing. Even fooling Doujutsu such as the Sharingan and Byakugan. When a Shadow clone is dispersed the chakra along with any knowledge and experiences are transferred back to the user. As of now Naruko is capable of creating up to ten individual clones.

Shuriken Manipulation: A technique that allows the user to manipulate thrown Shuriken with thin wires infused with chakra. The user is able to use these wires to not only guide the shuriken around, but also make it stop in mid-air and change directions. This technique potentially allows the user to attack with Shuriken from almost any direction.

Wind Cutter: Utilizing both her wind chakra and her Fuma Shuriken. Naruko is capable of creating a blast of powerful wind that can repel projectile based attacks as well as deeply cut into enemies with a powerful blade of wind. As of now Naruko is only capable of using this technique with her Fuma Shuriken as her medium.

Body Flicker technique: Naruko is capable of moving at incredibly high speeds across the field of battle. Usually leaving behind a streak of yellow as she goes. A valuable technique for positioning and scouting ahead.

Sexy Jutsu: An ability of Naruko’s own creation and a result of her perverted mind. The Sexy Jutsu turns the user into a fully naked woman or man who is barely obscured by clouds. While the Jutsu has little to absolutely no combat application it is an impressive feat of transformation and Naruko is not above using it on other perverts to get what she wants.

Wind Bullet: A powerful blast of air stored up inside of the User’s mouth. Once released it is a pure blast of concussive force that slams into the opponent. Naruko is capable of unleashing several of these bullets one after the other in an all out assault upon the enemy.

Taijutsu:

Uzumaki Combination: Naruko creates three clones for this technique. The clones rush forward and begin assaulting the opponent. Hammering upon them with a flurry of attacks. Tripping up the opponent and sending them upwards into the air with each hit. Naruko ends the combination by jumping into the air and punching the opponent straight in the face and sending them back into the ground.

Uzumaki Barrage: Naruko trips up her opponent before uppercutting them square in the jaw and kicking them away. Once the opponent is kicked away Naruko uses her shadow clone Jutsu to create seven clones. The clones begin to execute the Uzumaki combination while Naruko and the final shadow clone jump into the air after the opponent. Naruko and the clone both slam their fist into the opponent and drive them back to the ground.

Naruko’s fighting style is typically suited for long range. Most of her techniques are best utilized from farther away from her opponent. However Naruko’s stubborn nature often moves her to the frontlines as she refuses to be left out of the battle. Thankfully her fighting style is adaptable thanks to her array of techniques and largely thanks to her Shadow Clones. Her Taijutsu is far from lacking and what she DOES lack in skill she can make up for with massive numbers to swarm and overwhelm the opponent. Naruko is a tricky foe who can attack from either long or close range and always seems to have a trick up her sleeve despite how simple she comes across to her opponents. And sometimes contemporaries.

Everything about this reeked of secrecy. The sudden addition of the Kumo rep as described by Hideo...His seemingly banal response of being a “Simple” Shinobi. It all made Mizuraki’s nose twitch, despite her own irritation and desire to pummel the rude Ninja in question it couldn’t be denied that he was far from a SIMPLE Shinobi. A member of Anbu-Black ops would be briefed with far more information than Hideo was presenting to them...His presence alone was enough to tip off that something far bigger was at play here than just a simple cooperative mission. It all raised too many questions and there was a severe shortage of answers for Mizuraki’s liking.

While Mizu mulled over the possibilities in her head as to what all of this could mean. Her Genin seemed to have their own ideas on the matter. Bakuto was the first to speak up, followed by Remi and then closed out by Hiro attempting to rally his teammates and assure them that their worries were unfounded. Mizuraki broke her pensive stare and let out a small sigh before looking towards the group of children she would be leading into the mission. “I read your file, Bakuto. I know how you feel.” she said softly before her face grew rather serious. “But let me make a promise to you. On my honor...Nothing is ever going to happen to you as long as you’re with me. That goes for all three of you. I’m not sure who you’ll be assigned to after all this. But it’s my job to get you into their hands so you can all grow into fine ninja. No one is going to be captured and NO ONE is going to die!” she shouted with clear passion and determination in her voice. “So let’s get out there and prove just how competent we really are!

She neglected to answer Remi’s question...Largely because it was a thought that scared her a little bit. If this mission came from Seiji’s desk than what on EARTH was he thinking with sending in so many genin!? That was going to be quite a pointed question she would ask her friend when she returned from this mission that was for certain. “Form up behind me and don’t lag behind. If I look back and don’t see you, you’d better HOPE I don’t find you.” she said harshly. It came from a place of fear rather than the desire to punish her temporary charges, the idea of losing anyone filled her with more fear than anything else in the world. Mizuraki’s squadron followed behind Ichika and Hideo. Taking up the rear guard to make sure they weren’t being followed or otherwise tracked, she doubted it would happen so close to Konoha, but the war had made her a bit paranoid when it came to such things.

Eventually, although they were the last to arrive, they arrived nonetheless. The suggestion that the Genin should mingle amongst themselves as the Jounin spoke about the mission was met with a nod from Mizuraki. The Jounin turned to look over her shoulder and motioned to the group of Genin. “Stay ready. I’ll let you know when we need to move out again.” Normally she’d tell the kids to take a load off but not now, she was far too on guard right now to even suggest relaxing. Mizuraki approached Hideo and the Kumo nin’s own Jounin. Mizuraki finally interjected once there was a moment of silence between the group. “Right. Are you going to tell us just what exactly is going on out here?
Location: Training ground 17 Rina Uchiha
_______________________________________________
Rina’s cool demeanor was actually shaken a little bit when the Suna exchange student had the gall to claim that something was holding her back. The Uchiha’s face changed into an irritated glare as she looked over the blonde...It was taking everything she had not to break out of their little line and throw a strike towards her for such a remark, but Rina just remained still but her glare however, her glare never left Lumika’s form even as Kimi was assessing her. The young Uchiha didn’t have anything to say to Kimi’s assessment either, only scoffing lightly at saying that she looked “Stressed” she was fine. Never better in fact. Rina simply awaited what their so-called Sensei was going to say next.

The smirk that came to Rina’s face upon hearing Eri’s words was VERY visible. She wanted the two to fight? She had absolutely no problem with that whatsoever. She needed to prove that she was the best, she might as well start with a worthy opponent and not a foolish blowhard like Lumika. “With pleasure.” she said simply before working out a kink in her neck and allowing the confident smirk to widen just a little bit more on her face. “I hope you can both keep up. And if you can’t? At least try to make it fun for me.” she side-eyed Lumika as she spoke those last words. She was sure that Kimi would prove a fun challenge but Lumika had earned no such confidence.

The Jounin’s arm swiped across the air signaling the beginning of the battle and Rina immediately vanished from view for a brief moment before re-appearing in front of Kimi and attempting to land a punch straight to the other Uchiha’s face. “Come on!
