"I'll be sure to do so, Mrs. Walker." Harry said, addressing the adoptive mother's concerns. After that, he left Riley's room, no doubt passing by the FBI agent on his way out. He would give her a brief nod in passing, but nothing that would invite more conversation from his part. He needed to get to the next hotspot for investigation: the lake.

Armed with new knowledge, he had a better idea for what to look for while at the lake. The vast majority of the people there were searching for clues as to where the missing girl could have gone, but for him the actual search parties were his leads. Chances were that if one of those people weren't actually the special someone Riley had been meeting than they either knew the person or would know something that would allow him to narrow down who the mystery (wo)man was. Red Lake was a small town, and no secret would remain secure if somebody truly wished to learn of it.

When you serve in the military as a dwarf, there's a lot of things you learn pretty early on. 'Less you're feuding with another clan (which was actually pretty common), most of your time in combat was spent fighting races taller than you were. Not necessarily bigger, but definitely had a height advantage, which brought with it its own set of advantages and disadvantages. Trying to fight them at range was a mostly futile effort; they had longer arms and weapons and could cover more distance more quickly with their longer legs. But there inlay their weakness: all their mass was spread out which made them weak to grappling.

Nor sprang forward like an armored bolt of lightning towards the undead and grabbed ahold of its waist with his free hand, and brought his leg behind the armor's. With a light push, he brought the whole thing off balance and put its vital organs in prime position for stabbing. There was a weak spot in the side, so in his knife went. It wouldn't be enough to fell the damn thing, but he had plenty opportunity for more stabs.
At 200 Experience you can drift your Framewerk perfectly while looking for where you left your smokes.
Oh boy that's a lot of shit. Hopefully the next mission won't take so long, lest we finish this RP when we're octogenarians.

Under the bed was as much of a disappointment as inside the pillowcase and on top of the doorway. Nothing, nothing, nothing. Seemed like his only lead from the room was the diary. Rather a disappointing occurrence, but not an insurmountable setback. Looks like he was going to have to go to the lake anyways, despite it being the most searched location in the entire town and its surrounding areas.

"You can come in. I believe I've found all I can for the time being," he called to the voice on the other side of the door. He rose from the lying position and quickly brushed off any errant dirt or hair that stuck to his suit. While the information he found from Riley's diary was likely a key part of this entire case, there was nothing definite that he'd be able to report, if asked for any solid leads.

Futhermore, from the sound of things it was sensitive information for the family and he'd try to avoid unsettling them if possible. On top of that, the fewer people who knew secrets, the less likely something would spill over to someone he wouldn't want alerted to his action. So he resolved that he wouldn't inform the Walkers of what he'd learned until doing so became prudent.

"I guess that makes sense." Still seemed like a really weird place to put a spa, let alone a successful one. The size constraints necessitated by the location alone seemed like they'd put a stop to anyone trying to build a spa. There were worse places to stick a spa in Justice, she supposed. Like right next door to that bar that got shot up yesterday. Or on the docks.

Mali looked up and down at Wayne. She still had yet to get used to the... quirks of some of the people that lived in California, although she should probably be considered one of those quirky people. With time she'd get used to it all, probably. She couldn't see how he'd get around living in Alabama, or Mississippi, or wherever Zoie grew up, assuming she went to high school in the South. She imagined that he'd stick out like a Hawaiian shirt at a funeral.

"Pleasure," she greeted, as she shook the older man's hand. Mentally she remarked that she didn't really mind getting bitten, but had the better judgment not to vocalize that particular tidbit about herself. "You're in luck, my good sir. We've come here for just that purpose. Unless you wanted somebody else to take care of us, Ms. Zoie." She really had no idea what to expect from this man service-wise, but presumably he was quite skilled at his job. Unless this was just a visit with an old friend before going to see the real beautician or whatever the people who worked here were called.

Mali almost asked Zoie if she had already booked a suite at the hotel beforehand or if they'd have to go there at some point to sort that out, but figured that she'd called beforehand, or had that particular room perpetually in her name or something. Maybe that hotel suite just happened to be where she spent most of her working hours. Whatever the case, clothes were secured and shipped off to a semi-secure location, and Mali only felt slightly bad about buying absurdly expensive clothes with someone else's cash. But if Zoie's words were anything to go by, she picked out fewer items than expected, with was something.

"Kind of weird for a spa to be in the middle of the city. I thought places like that would be outside of city limits, away from all the noise. But, I guess convenience overrides. Sounds good to me," Mali said, leaving the store behind. She raised her hand over her eyes as the morning California sun blinded her briefly. Maybe at one of the shops she should pick up a pair of shades like Zoie to protect her eyes from all this bullshit sun. Or maybe a nice hat.

"I definitely need new shoes for tonight, unless you also happen to wear size 12 and have something that'd go with my dress. I'll need to find someplace to put these after I change out of them though." Now that she thought about it, it had been a long-ass time since she had worn proper high heels. Thinking back, the last occasion was probably University Graduation. She might have lost some of her balancing capabilities in the meantime. That and the fact that she might have to end up running tonight for unforeseen reasons prompted her to decide to try looking for something close to the ground. That went with her outfit. And didn't look hideous.

Damn it. Harry eyed the bright red slit across his left thumb for a few good seconds before sticking it in his mouth. He'd let the antiseptic abilities of saliva deal with that for the time being. He'd get a bandage for it later, when he wasn't invading a kidnapped girl's privacy.

Riley's adopted? A secret someone she was meeting by the lake? Interesting. The fact that she was a teenaged girl would make the someone's identity as a boyfriend seem obvious, but he doubted it would be so obvious. The diary hinted it might be an informant on her birth parents. Or it could be completely unrelated to either of those things. It could be a drug dealer. Or maybe an animal instead of an actual person. Whatever the case, he'd be keeping the diary as evidence.

Thumb still in mouth, he shut the book at set it down on Riley's bed. From here, he would perform a far more thorough search of Riley Walker's room. He'd look through her closet, under her bed, in each dresser drawer, everywhere. Of course he would make a mental note of how everything was arranged beforehand and after looking through any one given location, do his best to return it to how it had been before he entered the room.

Being a bear changed Cyne's perspective on her role in the fight. Before she was an ill-equipped target for armored undead to stab, and now she was a package of raw power that didn't really need equipment.

The bear took a quick step/gallop over to the closest armor and swung its paw at it. Armor was really good at nullifying cutting and stabbing, the two least pleasant forms of physical attack. Can't cut what you can't touch after all. However, it was not so good at dealing with concussive force. The impact from the blow crushed the armor inward, ripping and tearing off into the cadaver, which was knocked into the wall, where it slid and fell into an unmoving clump.

Nor saw the bear completely destroy a man's torso in a single blow and decided that side of the room was sufficiently covered. No need to get close to the dangerous animal that can kill a man with ease. He might be tough and armored, but armor didn't help the poor bastard who now had sand for ribs.

Instead he turned his attention to the right, where the dainty lady and body were effectively unarmed against armored opponents. Neither of them looked like they could take a hit or were any kind of good in a close up scuffle. He had half a mind to let the boy just take a swing or to as retribution for vomiting on his boot, but that went against being a team player, and would set back his plans to where they were before arriving in Salarn and effectively wasting a day of his life.

Time to fucking shine as a designated meat shield. Nor pushed himself to run as fast as his stubby dwarf legs would allow and positioned himself between the two kids and the undead armor, knife at the ready to stab in all of the joints. He just hoped that the boy wouldn't end up roasting him with a fireball from behind or something in a misguided attempt to help.

Mali raised her arms and tried to help the staff with measurements and such. She knew they were supposed to be ignored unless needed for some errand, but she couldn't help but imagine how annoying it would be to try measuring someone as they just went about their business. She had half a mind to just tell them her measurements so they wouldn't have to bother. She took them or had them taken relatively often, about once a month so; they might be a bit off due to changes over time, but it would save a bit of time and trouble. However, it would be kind of awkward to bring up, and they were measuring more than the main eight she kept up with (shoulder, chest, arm, forearm, waist, hips, thigh, calf), so she just let them do their job.

Mali couldn't say that she had the chance for any kind of Girl's Day/Night Out any time recently either. Her "friends" from high school spent a lot of their time getting high and/or drunk, causing destruction whilst drunk and bored, and getting into fights over petty shit. Then when she started trying to turn her life around, she had her hands full trying to catch up on years worth of neglected material. In university, Her time was divided between her first major, her second major, work, and her girlfriend. Sleep worked its way into her schedule when there was a brief opening. Towards the tail end of her campus days she took up bodybuilding, which ate up a lot more time than she had anticipated. And now she was in a strange new city with no real friends except a weird tech geek she'd met two weeks ago. Any chance to have fun being girly was one she'd snap up in an instant.

Speaking of which, Zoie said to not hold back, but Mali was still hesitant to completely cut loose. She was spending someone else's money after all. Still, she needed at least a couple more items, and she couldn't help but grab a couple more she didn't. Same rules as before, but the first piece she'd be wearing for most of the day, so it'd need to not give her a heat stroke as well. And she'd try to avoid another yellow outfit, wouldn't want to give the impression that was the only color she liked.

Ultimately she picked out a few things to finish off the purchases for the store. A bodysuit and jeans for her to wear around the rest of the day. Honestly, she was surprised that the store had jeans, but when she saw how much they cost, everything made sense again. And while she was at it, she picked out another bottom and dress for later use. One quick trip to the dressing room later and She looked a lot closer to presentable on the streets of the Diamond District without being over-dressed.
