Makoto watched the exchange with a look of awe on her face. She was in the presence of true pirates. And it was amazing. And from what she could tell, most of them had some sort of Devil Fruit power. She had to hand it to Yu, he had a good hold on his temper. If he had been any regular old pirate then he might have started a fight, a fight with a powerful enemy. Then the rum barrel was brough out, and Makoto was reminded of her hunger and thirst. She dwould have loved a glass, but remembered she wasn't a member of this crew, and she wasn't really a guest either. She was more like a hitchhiker. It would be impolite to take any without it being offered to her first.

She looked over at the strange female character, her awe and amazement growing, not only beautiful, but powerful too. And the two people she brought along, must be her strongest men. Maybe a form of intimidation or something.

Yep, just don't go so crazy on killing them.

Sounds good
Question, once the hunt begins are our characters allowed to kill npcs?
Makoto was about to answer Yu when the other ship appeared, more pirates. She swallowed, trying to keep the nervous look off her face. The last thing she wanted was to be involved in a fight between two pirates. Yu told here where the life raft was, which did little to ease her nerves. Was he anticipating a fight as well? As much as Makoto wanted to step back and let the pirates converse, she was also really curious. She couldn't help her excitable nature, and the idea of being able to watch such cool characters like pirates chat and maybe even fight got her excited. The noises around Makoto grew louder in her ears as she watched the other ship approach.
Alex Beta

Alex was extremely excited to be starting Capture the Flag. Not only would it get her away from the strangely awkward and tense conversation between Lynn and Dr. Peter, it would also mean that she could run around and finally expend some of her built up energy. She walked along side Lynn, to get closer to Adam's announcement about the game. Alex shut her eyes tightly, crossing both of her index and middle fingers. She really wanted to be on Lynn's team. If they weren't together she would just have to sit on the boarder of the two teams sides and wave to her friend.

She listened to the rules with little interest, she really didn't plan on using her powers to go after anyone. She didn't have enough control over them in the first place. But listening to the rules made Alex feel pretty nervous. If Adam had to be so specific it meant that there must have been accidents in the past, kids getting hurt, powers being abused. Were there kids here who wanted to win so badly that they would attack other students? Alex surely hoped not.

And then another thing started to bother her, something that Adam said. They would be judging the students. She swallowed a lump forming in her throat. That meant that she couldn't just sit down in the grass and let everyone else play like she used to do back in school. She would actually have to play and stuff. Alex wasn't a very athletic kid, so this game felt more and more like a test as they went on. She glanced nervously at Lynn. She just hoped they were on the same team.

When Adam began announcing teams, Alex listened very closely with her fingers still crossed. She had the entire Valos family in her team, as well as her roommate, but she didn't hear him say Lynn. With a sinking heart she listened to the other team, feeling a bit worse when she heard all the big guys were on that team. But something struck her had odd, she didn't hear the name Lynn being called for the other team either. Had she been left off the list?

With an a lost uncharacteristic frown, Alex began walking towards team ones side, only to see Lynn was on this side as well. With a burst of light and a huge grin Alex began bounding up to Lynn.

"We are on each other's teams! This is so awesome!"

As she pranced around Lynn she noticed some of the other people on her team, all huddled up and making plans. At least they had some brainiacs on their team. And Lynn and Alex could work together with their super awesome powers! Alex didn't seem at all phased by the fact she didn't know Lynn's real name, all that mattered was that they could hang out together. Maybe this game wouldn't turn out so bad. Alex knew that they should go over and discuss plans with the rest of the team, but was rather intimidated by Gabe. She just hoped Lynn got the ball rolling, since the two were roommates.
Makoto, now in the ship, looked around silently at the pirates around her. None of them seemed too dangerous. She had always been told by her parents that all pirates were gross, snarling, men who don't know right from wrong. Granted, most of these people seemed gruff and some unwashed, but none of them had killed her yet. She hadn't spoken as the man lifted her up into the ship, and kept her mouth shut even as he called her little. She wasn't that short.

When the food was brought out to her, Makoto's eyes widens, and her jaw dropped slightly. If her mouth had any extra moisture, she would have been drooling. Makoto hungrily snagged the food and water out of his hands, desperately gulping them down. She hadn't realized how hungry she was until she was sitting on the deck of a strange ship, water running down her chin and bread crumbs falling from her gaping mouth.

Makoto then realized how messy she must look. She slowly stood up, looking the strange pirate in the eyes. His voice seemed to zoom past her ears. "I...uh..." Her voice sounded strangely unsure, as if she had forgotten how to speak. "My...my name is Makoto O...Onohara." The rest of her words spilling from her mouth. She listened closely to what Yu was saying, mostly watching his mouth to see the words form.

"Family..." She muttered, looking down again at the water. She had to think of some sort of excuse and quickly. "My family...is not being worried." She seemed to be having trouble speaking again. Thinking of excuses was not her strong suit. She paused a moment, as if trying to remember how to speak. "I suppose you can drop me off at the nearest island or something."
What sort of weapon do you have planned?
Makoto hadn't actually heard the ship coming behind her. It was almost comically funny. She had just been floating along, the sounds of her own humming filling her weak ears. And then, all of a sudden, to Makoto's surprise a ship was pulled up along side her. It was quite clearly not a marine ship, the flag was a bit too sinister. And merchant ships rarely have flags. She swallowed a lump in her throat as she looked up at the ship, shielding her eyes at the sun. She wished she had known what pirate crew had attacked the cruise ship.

For several seconds, the words the pirate above her was speaking were muted. But suddenly, as if turning up the volume, the words shot into her ears. It almost hurt, the sudden words reaching her. She was about to make a comment, about how her raft was a great vessel, but decided against it. He then tossed down a rope ladder, much to her delight. Finally some good luck. Before getting up she listened to what the pirate said, trying to keep her face neutral. She country find the energy to speak, but she did nod.

Flashbang pirates. What a creative name. But his words sounded genuine, it seemed like it would be better up there then it was down here. And she could defend herself, once she had some food in her stomach. Makoto clung weakly to the ladder, her legs shaking horribly. She wondered what sort of adventure she had in store as she climbed the ladder.
Haha, I was planning on leaving Makoto with the flashbang pirates because they have less people.
I made a deaf joke in my post.
