The bartender heard the templar speak something of allegiances working men to death, and asking if these were the only heroes left. "Aye, lad. These be the only heroes to return. Fret not, most turned tail and scampered off when they caught sight of the demons outside the walls, yet not all that went to fight came back..." Looking off into the distance, the barman grabbed a bottle of ale, cracked it open, and offered it to the templar. "May as well drink up. Never know what day'll be yer last. That harem over thar gets it" nodding towards Louis and his surrounding female teammates.
The bar man nods towards the ale still offered to the templar "tell ya what, this one's on me. I also got the reward gold over in the back. It's available in full upon request, but I'm also agreein' to keep hold of it if ya don't need it now. No need to pay bar tabs whilst there's gold in yer pouch in the back. I take tabs out of the pouch if it's not paid up front" the man looks at the templar, obviously worn out from his day. He seemed a little stiff in one of his shoulders, but not too damaged otherwise. He shot a quick, half-hearted smile at the templar and went about his job.

A spry old man, short in stature, enters the room wearing cover-alls and rubber boots. His face is beaming as he scans the room, looking from face to face. Seeing some happy, some sad, and some... expressionless? Though not very tall, his voice booms across the tavern, saying "Welcome, one and all, to the Tavern of Heroes! I'm Trevant Burnell, the owner of this establishment, and I also do the upkeep, so if you find problems with the structure, come straight to me. My bar man over there is Finny. He's been my main man for countless years now. And she" pointing to the waitress serving drinks "is my lovely daughter, Lucia. Don't let me catch any of ya's flirting with her," Trevant added with a smile "or you'll regret it." After he finished talking, Trevant walked, with a spring in his step, to the bar and ordered 'the usual' from Finny, all the while humming an Irish-sounding tune.

Alright, I figure that each case of magic will be unique, so if you are wanting your character to use magic, just PM me with what magic they can do (preferably with a picture/gif/video as an example, but a descriptive example will work, too) and I'll just make sure it's not too over powered and is balanced well enough. I apologize for the whole magic stuff pushing everything back.

Seeing the on-rush of goblins in her direction, Photina decided to activate the blocking spell, Healing Leaves, on herself as she had readied in accord with her innate bird summoning ability to buy her some time while she gathered the mana necessary to *call* the four birds to help protect her. She looks around at all the others fighting and realized that this might be it. I have no adequate defences. I know of none strong enough to effectively destroy these foul creatures. Aye, this may be my end. Then I must protect others, once I can reduce my own threat.

With a surge of energy from the many plains she has travelled (plains as in fields, not planes) to summon Orim, one of her closest advisors in the art of healing. By the time the goblins got to Orim and Photina, Orim managed to use a spell of his own to add some extra blocking power to the summoned bird, who, along with Orim herself, jumped in front of the Arsonist, since the goblins' music was making them charging harder than normal. Orim was immediately slain, being charred and sent flying past the arsonist. The bird somehow survived this barrage from the arsonist, who shot a ball of flame as he died at the bird, killing it. The other two goblins had no problem reaching Photina as she had no defences left.

Now, on to help others.

World Post

The town criers are roaming about the city, calling out news. Fresh from the palace, they say. The news goes something like this:

"Hear ye, hear ye. The palace has just received notification from our fair neighbour, Brindle, that the infestation of demons and monsters is affecting their town as well. The city officials have sent request for assistance, and we are sending our Heroes. Anyone else who wishes to join in our fair city's crusade against the evil that has fallen upon us may sign up at the palace entrance. The Heroes, both present and future, will leave at high noon tomorrow."

The bartender casually makes a statement to all in the bar that upon signing up for the original quest to aid Maplestead and collected your gold, you have been conscripted until further notice by the Palace of Maplestead. The barman goes on to explain that you will still get paid for every mission you partake in individually, but you're stuck here until they relieve you of duty. He adds a quick, humble note of thanks at the end of his explanation, though he has a bit of lingering sorrow in his eyes as he looks over the room, seeing many young 'uns that he'd rather not be dead.

@The_written_John I'm sorry that it seems so unnecessary, but if you look a few pages back, Snarl was wanting to make some sort of map for this RP at some point, so everyone's locations are pretty necessary. And yes, you can post it in the Character tab. I'll be posting a world post in a minute or two that would make you characters able to integrate easily. I'm sorry for frustrating you about Bartleby's hometown, though.

@The_written_John Everything that's there looks good. If you can add a hometown (and a little description of the hometown) for your thief, you'll be all good.

That knight's backstory had me like:

I might not be able to join. I just got bumped up to co-GM pro tempore foe one of the RPs I'm in and am GMing another. Sorry.
