in just 2 days the ooc went from 5 pages to 14 xd

if its interesting then I wonder why its so low on activity
if the IC appear to be reasonable in its pace
I might join again if that is allowed
that way I have also read the ic for a while and have a much better understanding of the wishes and ideas
since I need to work from scratch with a new cs, then that would be better in the end ^^

However it is also a bit of a mistake if you are going to write so much, to do it in one sitting without checking you arn't going astray, especially if you are going to invent a whole list of spells in Latin when the CS doesn't ask you to. allow me to explain why I, and thousands other role players in a fantasy rp, would make such a mistake to making their own magic spells and systems.
In general, if a pre-explained magic system was not provided, that would mean that normally it was meant for the players to make up their own systems, a freedom in character skills and such if you would call it.
It is thus not surprising that many people would think of their own systems.

I as well thought that if there is no pre-given magic system, that its an all things go.
give people the chance to make their own sub-mage classes, I had an more elemental user, others might go with pure healer, some might be a allrounder.

seeing I felt this reminded me off the manga Negima magister, I used their spell setting, so I had to work on latin (only to find that either the spells used in the manga are a really weird type of latin/ self made, as the translation given and the latin did not add up, that or all online translators are faulty on each and every word)
so there my reason why it took so long to make the spells.

anyway, while i know a CS might need to be edited, this was just to much due to new rules, my chars past cant be used with the new settings, and his personality was worked out with the past, so that wont work anymore, then even excluding the latin, looking at all the magic rules, I only keep one spell that might (trough barely) fit into the rules and that one is a lightning body improvement spell, so aside the natural damage to the user (thanks to that rule) the body spell would without a doubt make that effect even worse (when logically thinking about it) so its a "I will increase my speed and agility and afterwards I will be paralyzed and unable to join, plus the spell in a fight would not be enough to win so my enemy would kill me as soon as my body caves in"

there is a difference between having to edit a char and start over from scratch

but that all aside, that was only one part of why I left.
Main reason is the high level activity here, I love the fact that its so active, but if the IC is just as active as the OOC, then I wont be able to keep up
(having to work once my hand gets better) running a household and most important of all, raise my little baby boy
pretty big bummer, otherwise I would have made a new char if I still had the easy go live I had when I went to school.
if I had not had to remake my chars, I might have risked it and otherwise left if it truly was to much, but all things together...

well at least if my negima IntCheck gets some people I have a char basis XD
but I fear that is not going to happen anytime soon...
its been up for a while and nothing...

Tone and voice doesn't carry perfectly through text, and for whatever reason a few people assumed you were angry and rude when - to me, at least - it was clear you weren't.So you didn't clarify how mages use magic, whatever. Someone brought it up, and you took the suggestion and fixed it. The people bitching about having to make minor changes to their character sheets are the kind of people you should just ignore. If they can't spare five extra minutes, you can bet they won't be active during the actual RP.Honestly, the only thing you've done "wrong" is giving broad statements about what's wrong in general with the submitted character sheets, instead of looking at each sheet individually and telling the player what they need to change to get accepted.

Easily said to slightly change a CS if 90% of my char turned unusable with the new rules, I basically had to make a brand new one, that with rl time consuming and all, just to chaotic.
and since if I make a CS I take the time for it (generally I am busy for like 2 hours)

But further, I do apologize that Var felt like he had to step out, that was not the idea.
I have already sais all my thoughts and as I said before, I hope this rp will still be a good one.

anyway, the story: (run down a little since the time here is past midnight)
a fantasy world where humans dont exist
the real world

something happened that pulled humans out of their own world and into the fantasy world, this in the fantasy worlds was seen with starnge lights in the sky

you can play as a human, finding an artifact what gives powers or learning magic eventually (the artifacts seems pretty popular trough)
or as a native from the fantasy world itself (remember, you dont know what a human is)

from there on out I am keeping the main story a little hidden
but the idea would be, the humans want to figure out what happened and how to go back
currently we are in some old ruins and in these ruins some of the humans would find their first artifact or magic spell or something

during the story you can increase your abilitys and such

there are evil races and secret races, all that kind of intel you can read on the first IC post (needed to make a list on a easy to find post, and as the old GM left I could only place it on the IC post)

basically I am just reading mostly to see how things go.
But as Free said, we have both seen RP's die due to things getting worse and worse, so yeah, one of my reasons to check up once in a while.
btw, if those comments are jokes, may I advice some emo's, otherwise those noob ass comments can be seen as you insulting people for real, just a tip ^^

How would we know who needs to change what if you can't at least tell us who done goofed?I needed some background info on the setting (almost none of which is provided) so I can make a proper history that fits in with the world. I asked multiple times and nobody ever answered. The second partner is called a 'mage' but until recently the format left no structure to their magical powers. This is a blunder in regards to balance as the more vague a power is the more exceptionally overpowered it can be.Basically, the GM has thrown a tantrum whenever he has failed to get his way or people didn't act exactly as expected, most of which acted in a civilized manner. So, I'm going to leave as I know from experience it will only get worse from here.

My thoughts as well, getting angry at us for failing to get his idea while it was not provided correctly enough to follow on with it

Yet I can say I am not a noob seeing I am an active RPer for more then 10 years.
So keep these foolish comments to yourself as people generally dont like someone saying such things when expressing their own thoughts and explain why they get out, as you can see with the comments below your post.

Yeah for the first time ever I feel that I need to step out of an rp
its becoming chaotic, One night of sleep and I have to read like 3.5 OOC pages, if the IC is like this..
I have a child and other obligations so that is a no go
But also the chaos with the CS is kind of a buzzkill

everyone needs to change/ remake their CS's due to changes to the blank, what should have been in there already from the start, that will be just to much, especially since 90% of my mage CS is now useless with the new rules, taking a look at the spells he would have learned in the future and the spells he would have in the beginning, he would only keep 1 spell and with the new rules, its a suicide spell, also his past is now unusable with the part Var is most annoyed about, so yeah, I would have to start from scratch.
Worst I feel is, I put in 6 hours of researching up Latin for my spells and that is now purely wasted time, thank you very much

Sorry Derp and Stern that I am now leaving you two without partner, perhaps you can join together, both having a mage and knight respectably.

EDIT:

btw Var, I say this with respect, but I feel like your angry at us for the mistakes, (especially seeing the "New shit under the hider "stuff you should know" GO READ IT, WAISTed 3 HOURS OF MY LIVE") while these things would have been better if posted there from the start to prevent such mistakes, we cannot help it not knowing these rules and all that if it was not posted from the beginning.
I understand its frustrating that there were so many mistakes by us, but it feels like your angry at us and blaming us, and I dont think that much is fair
I hope your rp will be a huge success further and wish you all good luck with your remaking CS's and a lot of fun with the rp.
