Yeah the rp is moving a little too fast for what I'm comfortable with. I was writing a post and had to go to work (am currently at work) and post it when I got back but now it needs to be heavily edited. If the norm is a post every 2-3 days it's just a lot to keep up with and is kind of scaring me. I don't want every post I make to just be a catch up one :/ and with school and work if it continues like this that's how it may very well be:(

Aja has a monroe piercing on the left side of her mouth that she tends to play with when she's thinking or annoyed. She sports a scar on her right leg from when she fell off her bike, learning how to ride at 5 years of age. Her eyes are a deep brown but when she's activating her powers they turn a brilliant amythest purple. Her skin is darker than pictured, about a true brown, and there are freckles running from a centimeter from her right nostril to her left. When she smiles she sports deep dimples and pearly white teeth however this is a rare occurance. Her hands are rough and dry because of the latex gloves she is almost always wearing while in the lab, and because she picks at her skin.

Aja is pretty laxed and likes comfortable or easy to thow on wear. Hoodies, jeans and sneakers seem to be her go to but every once in awhile she'll opt for a dress because it's quick to put on, and do her make up if she's in the mood. Dark colors bring out her beautiful brown skin so the hoodies are normally black with some nerdy smart ass comment ("You! Out of the Gene Pool"). Her jeans are normally ripped somewhere or bleached with some sort of basic solution from work and she NEVER, EVER, wears socks (they go missing and shes too lazy to look and it takes more time to slip them on).

Her supersuit consists of tight latex bodysuit with long black boots, and a black mask.

| Abilities |
Her category of superhuman ability would be under the darkness manipulation umbrella and for now she can slip into the shadows when there is a shaded area and she has a darkness blast. She has faster regenerative abilities at night but still is suscepitible to basic human weakneses

| Limitations |
She can only use one blast a day because it takes so much energy. And has a big enough impact to push a person back (not kill, it's like being hit hard with a bat once)

Besides her smart watch, and wallet, absolutely nothing.

| Personality Traits |
Tough to break emotionally but at the same time emotionally unavailable. The best way to break her is solitary confinement in a place with bright lights 24/7. Not tactical (as in being creative in using her abilities.) but good at following direction, however she is headstrong and rarely does this.

Aja is a cynical lady to say the least but she does have great confidence in herself. She can come off rude because she is so blunt but it's nothing personal and never intended. She's a fiercely loyal friend but she doesn't have many close ones because of her cynicism. Unless shaken sometimes she's too deep in thought to notice anyone else. She doesn't do well with authority unless she respects the person and even then if she doesn't agree it's tough to get her to follow through. I wouldn't say that Aja is a kind person but i also wouldn't say she gos out of her way to be mean to others. She can be erratic but there's always a method to her madness in her mind.

There is a creeping darkness looming in the depths of her mind. Sometimes she can hear screaming but it seems to be in her mind because whenever she tries to find the source of the sound there's nothing there. The sounds seems be familiar and grows stronger when uses her abilities but right now the sound seems to always be behind a closed door. She's secretive thoughand hasn't even told her closest friend, Vega. Her anxiety seems to be on a rise lately but she can't tell if its graduate school or the manifestation of her abilities

Aja was born in Orlando, Fl and spent her whole life there, barely going out of state save once to visit the carribbean (where her parents where from.) Being summoned was advantageous to the growing yearning she had to visit new places and explore new towns.

| Family |
Aja was adopted as a baby in Africa by missionaries who later relocated to America to build a life for their daughters. She's got another adopted sister, Kara, who does not have any abilities much like her adopted parents.

| History |
Aja was your typical highschooler. Her grades were average, her life wasnt much to complain about and her parents were constantly pushing her to do better and want more for her life. In truth she had a passion for science experiments but not for the tedious question and answer part after those labs. She had a couple of friends, was pretty popular because of her abrasive personality (people liked drama and she seemed to cause a lot of it with how forward she was) but she didn't trust many.

One night, after being forced to a stupid homecoming party, Aja decided to leave early because most of the seniors were pompous asses that she couldn't stand to be around. It was on that walk home that a meteor fell from the sky meters away but the impact caused a shockwave that Aja could feel through her system. Seeing the direction the meteor landed, Aja was drawn to it, drawn to the site. There she could feel something weird, a pulsating feeling but then as fast as that feeling was there, it washed over, and she suddenly realised she wasn't there alone. There was Adrian hunter, a kid from school she'd seen once or twice, and when their eyes locked there was an unspoken conformation that this wasn't a dream. That this was their reality. Aja's powers manifested that same day with her hands glowing dark but the darkness was different -- matte and yet not. A complete void of color grew around her hands and as she examined her hands it disappeared. It was on this day that a friendship bloomed between the loner and the loudmouth.

As far as post highschool, Aja was accepted to a four year university and graduated with an undergrad degree in chemisty. She took a year off however and was in the midst of a masters degree in biochem when she and Adrian were sent the mysterious letter. Some things seem like fate and worth taking risks for her but the main idea was traveling. Being stuck in Florida for so long left Aja stir crazy and the idea of traveling with her closest friend was too good a chance for her to pass up -- especially being able to meet other superhumans, because of course she'd like to see how she measures up!

Nothing but lab work for the indomitable Tamera. It was tedious, meticulous, long and just plain irritating purifying her own protein samples as side work to the lysate samples she was supposed to be dealing with. So far, nothing out of the norm when she ran her tests (her own proteins stayed together at the correct temperature, denatured normally etc.) so from an analytical stand point she was still confused. Whenever she put the necklace on, she could feel her body temperature drastically lowering and see her own breath. She even took her own temperature once and it read 7.8 degrees Celsius (46 degrees Fahrenheit)! Yet the sample she swabbed showed nothing of the sort. She was a little bit on edge too. What sort of added side effects did this thing have? She seemed to be right back to normal when it was off, healthy and vibrant. Still, she couldn't shake the feeling she was dabbling into something she shouldn't be. The first rule of research is to never test things on yourself, but she liked the idea of the power too much.

"Hey, Sam. Can you run the buffers for me? I've got some extra papers to work on. Please?"

"I will but remember this when i need you to pH my solutions"

"Yeah Yeah", she said running out of the door.

3:00 pm
Sitting over a pen and paper, feeling frustrated, Tamera flicked it over to the news.
"Police department on standby over at NABC HQ, sources say, some sort of standoff is...(trailing)"

Hmm. Maybe this is something i could check out from a side view, She thought with adrenaline pumping. Grabbing her costume, she ran off into the dorm bathroom to change, and snuck out the backdoor.
