Darren follows Roxy into the gym, ducking under the top of the door-frame. "I don't know how helpful I could be there aside from taking a few punches," Darren says as he rubs his belly and chuckles. He may be a big softy but he could take a hit like any professional fighter.

"Yeah, I suppose I'll have a hard time too, I don't think I want to listen to someone that lied to me," Darren said as he looked at Roxy. "So what is there to do in the gym? I was never very good at sports 'cause I can't run very fast but I can try if you want someone to play with." Darren smiled at Roxy again. Even though he felt sad he was happy that there were people here he could spend time with. Roxy had said he should try and be a leader, he had never done it before and he didn't think he'd be very good at it but he liked the idea.

"Oh, I'm not much of a leader," Darren said and shrugged, "I'm not smart enough for something like that plus if we get into a fight I don't know how much good I would be, I've only ever been in one fight in my whole life and I don't think that one would count." Darren opened the door to his room and quickly stashed his duffel bag inside and opened it quickly to check on something, a doll he had been given by his sister after he had been sentenced to life in prison. After checking it was there he closed the bag and locked the door with the key he was given. "I could come to the gym with you if you like, I don't really have much else to do besides explore."

Darren put his face in his hands and sat quietly for several seconds before standing up and breathing deeply. "When I was sad as a kid my grandma told me that sitting and crying wouldn't solve anything, I'll leave Vlad alone." Darren said as he straightened up, standing at his full height his head almost scraped the ceiling as he looked at Roxy. "I will find a way to see my sister some day, maybe I could bring you and some of your friends with me then."

Darren sits back down on the floor and slumps against the wall. "What happens if I get knocked out?" he asked as he looked over at Roxy, even sitting down he was massive but he was defeated, and that made even someone Darren's size look small.

"But..." Darren's smile faded quickly and he creased his brow like he was deep in thought. He looked at Tyler and Roxy and said, "But he said I could protect my sister, I can't do that from here, what will she do? I said I'd be out to see her soon, I promised." Darren let out a grunt that sounded very bear-like, short, thick brown hairs sprouted from his face and hands before he seemed to calm himself. "I need to find the doctor, where is he?"

"He told me that if I agreed I would be able to protect my sister once I got out, but if I didn't agree then I wouldn't be able to protect her because I would spend the rest of my life in jail." Darren said and shrugged, "he said he was trying to help me, I was happy to agree."

"Well, you're a lot nicer to me than some of the people I met while I was in jail, you talked to me when I said hello," Darren said, his smile not faltering during Roxy's laughter, in fact he seemed happier that he was able to make her laugh.

Darren's smile widened when he saw Roxy smile at him "I like him, he was nice, you seem nice too. I hope we will get along," Darren said as he fiddled with the straps of his duffel bag. Darren had always been awkward around girls, he was never sure how to treat them, his grandmother had always taught him to protect and help them, but a lot of them got angry with him when he tried, saying they didn't need to be protected.

"alright then," Darren said as he pulled his hand away and gave her a goofy smile. "It's real nice to meet you Roxy, I was just havin' a chat with Marshall 'fore you showed up, you two know each other?"
