Magical Capabilities: Ability to influence small bits of nature, as in make seeds grow. She specializes in botany. She can identify most plants and their affects on living creatures.
She can fly.

Weaponry: She knows how to use a sword and has a bow and arrows.

I promise she's not overpowered. Has a few useful tricks and is really more curious than fearsome.
What was the idea?
I've actually played in an HP rp where it was just simple go to school and intermingle... it got boring very quickly. I like the idea of building a plot. Maybe starting with something simple to begin with and then build from that.

I love the idea of an antagonist.

I guess the question is do we want to start at the beginning of the year? If so then I would suggest a simple plot to begin with, perhaps something questioning happens at the feast where the students get sorted. Something that would raise possible suspicion. Also the idea that the school could be in danger from an outside force is a lot of fun to play with.

I found that if you play to get to one significant plot point and then come up with another to get to it keeps things much more interactive for everybody.

ETA: I love the idea of the mascots being objects. I also like the idea of the mythological creatures being used. I'd also like to come up with a basic map for the school if no one would object?

Also I agree that we should be allowed to choose our own age. Maybe say that they need to be in 4th year or higher to keep it fair?
I was also a fan of the spell you couldn't see coming. The beams of lights, etc. I always imagined it was more like an invisible force coming at you. Unless of course you were creating something that had a visual representation, such as fire.
If it would help I do know that there is a whole list of spells that were used in the HP universe, whether they were mentioned or used there are quite a lot of them. Ranging from beginner to much more advanced.

I think that the reason for the drawback in the movies was to show the difference in the amount of magic someone with more experience could perform over that with less. In the books at least the wizarding families that were shown out of the school setting used magic for a good portion of their everyday lives. They didn't show much of that in the movies of course. And honestly we did wind up zesting up the magic a bit in all the rp's I've been in.

I guess her species would be considered fae, the physical features with wings but larger in stature.
Also LOVE the idea of a table top version of HP >.>
I'm wondering if you're still looking for players, I have a fairy that would be perfect for this. Humanoid in size and can use a sword, sound good?
I think I might actually be interested in coming up with something with you. I'm a fan of the horror, also a big fan of the fantasy.
