Genji is an impressive physical specimen. Years of enthusiastic work-outs have chiseled his entwined muscles forming quite the formidable man. Jet black hair and eyes a notorious green, he has somewhat of a welcoming theme to his features with little to know sharp edges above his jawline and a wide nose.
- Personality -
A pragmatist at heart, Genji is a man who lets fate run its course and acts according his instincts. Whilst he can be quite wild at times he is always jovial and respectful of friendships, he highly regards the bonds he makes with his fellow captains and squad members and similarly admires people who treat his friendship with sincerity and compassion.
Genji isn't overly arrogant about his strength, acknowledging that others have the potential to become stronger than himself given enough time, however he is fond of using himself as an example to his squad members. His confidence in himself, his Zanpakuto and his overall fate has allowed him to push himself to ever greater heights and when faced with difficult situations prefers that path of bravery and action than seeing the consequences as potentially fatal.
Genji often likes to make an impression on his opponents, maintaining a level of honor and integrity when engaging in battle. He prefers to fight one on one and when faced with a a powerful opponent he rarely loses his cool, going as far as to make sarcastic remarks and actually spur on his attackers. In contrast he tries to keep bloodshed to a minimum despite his love for battles and destruction, he is fine with not actually winning the battle outright as he prefers to conquer his enemies by winning without killing and controlling without humiliating them. To him a selfless leader who isolates himself from his friends to die for ideals is nothing but a fool. He respects a figure who is inspiring and leading to his people, instead of a distant loner who concerns himself only with protecting and saving himself. Ultimately, he would grieve and weep over his losses and mistakes, but he would stay true to himself and never regret decisions he has made as Captain.

Genji has a very calming sage green colour to his Reiatsu.
As a sealed Zanpakuto Rusuikuōn does not differ from the typical Katana. It's Saya (scabbard) is a solid black complimenting the sage green Ito (Braid) and bronze coloured Tsuba (Guard). As is typical with Zanpakuto, Rusuikuōn's Tsuba has a distinctive shape. Round and thin it has three equally distant teardrop shaped holes spreading from the blade to the edge of the guard creating three small notches in its otherwise smooth edge.
The spirit of Rusuikuōn is not too different from a man. Clothed in brown leather straps, belts and other cloths the majority of his skin is visible. Sunken markings that glow a bright teal colour trace from the soles of his feat all across his body and through to the top of his head which is covered by thick black hair. His eyes, almost whitened out by a similar bright glow make his stare particularly eerie.
He does not talk much to Genji but the two share an unspoken bond that has only grown stronger since their introduction almost six hundred years ago.
Genji's inner-world is as equally mysterious. Always transported to the flat peak of an impossibly high mountain, Genji often peers downwards only to realize the ground cannot be seen for the clouds that envelop the mountains waist.

Holding his sheathed Zanpakuto outwards Genji utters the release command. Mist quickly envelops his sword and circles it like a minute tornado, growing in length before expanding to hide Genji himself. The mist dissipates almost as quickly as it appeared to reveal Genji holding his released Zanpakuto. A long staff with a curved blade at it's head stands in his grasp, almost as tall as he is the blades spine has five separate rings gouged into the metal spine of the blade.
Rusuikuōn is both a wind and Kido type Zanpakuto, combining the devil arts with his mastery of wind and air manipulation. In it's Shikai state Genji gains some very notable passive abilities together with the usual boost in power, strength and speed. Firstly Genji gains a hypersensitivity to the air pressure that surrounds him, this increases his senses almost ten-fold and allows him to detect objects and often attacks coming from unseen directions as they fly through the air. In conjunction with this Genji is capable of greater speeds by propelling himself when he jumps, whilst it isn't nearly as fast as a flash-step this ability makes him a lot more maneuverable and helps him get across the battlefield.
Whilst his Shikai grants Genji the ability of Wind attacks such as slices of wind and small tornado blasts, Rusuikuōn has several specific techniques that Genji often uses throughout the fight.
- 鶴 Tazū (Crane) -
Used primarily as a protective shell Genji's 'Tazū' technique can be used by slamming the staffs bottom pommel on the ground or any hard surface. Doing so releases a sphere of highly pressurized air from the point of impact which quickly covers Genji just in time to deflect or repel an incoming attack. Easily able of turning sword swings away it can prevent large and heavy objects such as rocks or even cars from hitting him, the ability also has the effect of throwing said objects back outwards sometimes threatening the attacker.
- 虎 Tōra (Tiger) -
This is by far and away Rusuikuōn's most combative technique and probably his most used. When Genji slashes he can call 'Tōra' at which point a very small but incredibly potent implosion and resulting explosion of air takes place just behind his staffs blade. This ability can increase Genji's hitting power to almost double it's previous strength and has seen him shatter buildings and even cause small shock-waves. Almost capable of using this at will Genji generally uses it to push through a parry or to putt opponents off balance.
- 蜻 Tonbō (Dragonfly) -
Being Rusuikuōn's most powerful technique Genji doesn't like to use it very often, not wishing anyone to know the full extent of his abilities. It is in effect a larger more versatile version of his 'Tōra' ability, originating as a small green orb that Genji can fire by swinging his Zanpakuto in a wide arc it acts as a sort of bomb. When it lands the impact itself does not do much damage however on the point of impact the ball will quickly absorb the surrounding air causing a very strong gust towards its center. It only takes about a second but once the ball has almost doubled in size and it's air compression is at its maximum the ball of energy will explode sending out a strong concussive blast wave that is capable of popping ear-drums and even shattering rocks. Genji cannot use this technique many times over or he will quickly tire however he has found that using it three times generally leaves him no worse for wear until the next day. The subtle strength of this attack is that it initially implodes, dragging everything, even car sized objects, towards it before exploding thus causing more damage to things closer to its epicenter.

Zanjutsu is Genji's area of expertise. Using his strength and maneuverability he has come to master the art and prides himself greatly on his ability to strike down opponents without the need for a release. Known to have used both Ryōdan and Nadegiri he truly is an opponent not to be underestimated.

Genji, being the mountain of a man he tends to be, is unsurprisingly very practiced and potent when employing Hakuda. Slapping and punching lower-level Hollow around like marshmallows he always jumps at the chance to manhandle opponents, a physical representation of exerting his will upon others.

Whilst not the slowest of the captains Genji is not the man you think of when comparing speed. Shunpo is his only real expression of Hohō which is enough for him as he cannot create speed clones nor employ the technique of Utsusemi. He much prefers to emply the abilities of his Zanpakuto when he wishes to travel quickly.

No stranger to the demon arts, Genji is a master-level Kidō practitioner. Often using it in conjunction with his sword play during fights he uses it as a method of entrapping his opponents, not giving them a seconds rest. His favorites in the way of Bakudō are No.21 Sekienton and No.62 Hyapporankan. When it comes to offensive Hadō spells Genji keeps it simple, most notable employing No.58 Tenran and No.63 Raikōhō.
- Fighting Style -
"Bāsuto...Tonbogiri!" Genji was consumed by spinning winds, preventing the primal hollow from following his movements. With a cringing screech it lunged from the rain-soaked road towards the Shinigami captain, clawing through the whipping gale he failed to land a strike. In the same moment the creature realized Genji had gone, a blade was bearing down on his shoulder blade splitting the glacier white skin. Almost severing the entire arm, the Hollow fell back down from the sky crashing into the puddles below. Genji stood alone with his Zanpakuto released and aching for more, "Ha! is that all you have? pick yourself up and come at me like the monster I know you are!" an explosion of air echoed throughout the dimly lit street as Genji charged. The smile on his face was wiped clean as the dust settled, the hollow was ready for him. With it's arm somehow healed it too jumped towards the Shinigami, the two clashed mid-air sending out a small shock wave pushing the rain drops around them.
Splitting off from one another the hollow threw a swipe only to be parried, equally the return strike was forced away. "Good! Genji exclaimed, his face filled with a smile. "But not good enough..." Genji jabbed his fist into the Hollows shoulder, simultaneously prodding the pommel of his Zanpakuto into its kneecap. Collapsing backwards Genji launched his knee into the beasts jaw causing it to crack before being shortly followed by a squeal. It was not finished however, turning its body to throw out a leg it almost caught the Captain by surprise but only forced him backwards. In quick fashion Genji crouched and charged again, "Time to end this!".
Blade sparked against claw as the two tested each others strength. Grinning as he took his hand from the Zanpakuto and pointed it at the beasts chest Genji chuckled, "Hadō 1...Shō!" The Hollow was thrust backwards giving Genji the inch of space he wanted, he spun on the spot grabbing his weapon back in his empty hand. Slashing across his opponents face he was sprayed with blood. The flailing hollow clawed at its wound letting lose a dying scream before dissipating into nothing, leaving only the echo of its last breath. "Ahhh, you messed up my Haori!" Genji sighed as he brushed at the blood, "But good fight." he bowed as his Naginata Zanpakuto spun into a cyclone and reverted to its sealed state.

When released Himitsumori takes the form of a smaller Wakizashi.

Himitsumori has the ability to transform the Reiatsu that Yori leaks out into Reishi, giving it mass and a physical presence. Whats more this Reishi concentrates together to form mirrors, as the very Reishi itself is reflective.
Himitsumori implements these mirrors in a very devious way. One mirror can completely absorb the light that strikes it and reflect it from a different mirrors surface. In Lehman terms this means you can alter the position in which people, objects and even landscapes appear. Whilst seemingly simple this ability has shown to unlock millions of possibilities whilst fighting and has served Yori incredibly well.
Whilst this Zanpakuto has hundreds of combinations in it's use, Yori has but a few that he prefers to stick to.
1. Firstly, and perhaps most simply, Yori can place mirrors just in-front and above his sword before he swings for his opponent, doing so means he can take the light that hits the mirror in-front of his sword and reflect it from the mirror above his sword making it seem his strike is a lot higher that it actually is. It is a simple technique in Yori's eyes however it makes his strikes incredibly hard to dodge as you don't see where they are truly coming from.
2. Used as a diversion technique this ability is easy to use. Creating a mirror in-front and behind himself along with multiple mirrors at each side, Yori can absorb the light from the mirror behind him to display out the mirror in-front of him, essentially making him invisible, all the while he can absorb the light from the mirror in-front of him and display it on each of the mirrors by his side making it look like there are multiples of himself that are in a sense, illusions. He can move these mirrors around too giving him clones of himself to confuse the opponent and to mask his strikes.
3. By creating a mirror just in-front of his opponents face Yori is able to completely control what they see with out them noticing. He can create mirrors from almost anywhere and display their light through the mirror in-front of his victims. Generally using this when fighting two opponents he places a mirror in-front of himself whilst he fights one opponent which 'sees' all of their actions and display it before the second opponent making it seem as if they are being attacked by their own ally.
4. The fourth technique utilizes Kido or any type of projectile, placing a mirror in-front and one a few feet by its side, Yori can swap the light both reflect with the other making it seem like the projectile will completely miss up until the point of impact at which point the mirror will shatter the instant the projectile hits its mark.

In his Shikai state Norio is incredibly slow, however this is balanced by the power of his swings, capable of creating large fissures in the ground and demolishing buildings. The true power of Gashadokuro is the hammer that balances the Axe-head. When swung the large flat hammer-head will punch out a shock-wave that deals large amounts of damage and causes great collateral damage.
Whilst most people believe Gashadokuro to be a simple Melee-type Zanpakuto they never truly respect it's power until they face it in combat. An almost unblockable swing is a dangerous thing to face.

In its Bankai state, Norio's Zanpakuto does not change in shape or size. It also still retains its shock-wave effect, but it gains a more significant ability. Norio is able to change the weight of his Axe at will. Almost instantaneously. This means he can make it as light as a feather when he swings and fights with it, making him furiously fast, yet just before the point of impact he can make it weigh more than mountains. This makes his attacks impossible to block, you will simply be crushed or thrown for miles under the force.
He has been known to smash his weapon into the ground at times, causing an earthquake as he shatters deep rock and sometimes causes tectonic activity.

As wind-type Zanpakuto, Kurikettokaze has the ability to form blades and spikes using highly volatile winds.
1. With this attack Emiko thrusts her sword forward quickly creating a small bolt of wind to shoot from the tip of the rapier, this bolt can pierce through most materials and although will not cause massive damage it will travel straight through objects. This is a very quick and easy attack and so she uses this a lot giving her almost a ranged weapon.
2. This is a cutting attack in which Emiko whips his sword across her body, this creates a crescent blade of wind that can slice through objects as easily as a sword can.
3. When Emiko parries an opponents sword she can quickly turn her blade and twist it around her opponents, strengthened with a blast of wind this often throws the opponents arm and weapon off the the right giving her a clean shot at their shoulder allowing her to jab and pierce at them quickly before retreating.
4. Probably her most difficult technique, Emiko can sway her blade from side to side, because it is so thin it becomes difficult to see. As she does this she creates multiple blades of wind that mimic her own, when she finally thrusts every single blade thrusts at the same time giving her a 'shotgun' like attack at close-quarters that can often turn people into pin-cushions.

Aobozu is a very frightening Zanpakuto in the fact tat it's true ability is almost a time-bomb like effect that is almost undetectable. When released Aobozu beings to steam, letting out incredible amounts of water vapor it can cover an entire area in mist in a matter of minutes. The initial abilities of Aobozu allow Chiko to create 'apparitions' in the mist to fool and scare opponents, making shapes of people they know or screaming ghosts running towards them. It serves as a distraction enough for her to sneak her attacks in and get some strikes on her target.
However he Shikai's true ability is as previously mentioned a time-bomb. It waits until the fight has lasted long enough for Chiko to release her Bankai, that is when the fight for survival really begins.

Kuiiruyoni hoerutsuki, Satorioaita no Aobozu (Devour the howling moon, Enlightened Blue priest)
In its Bankai state, Chiko's Zanpakuto manipulates the effect of Osmosis. That being this dispersion of water from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. In essence it aims to 'spread' water out as best it can. What is truly terrifying is when one realizes that the human body is 70% water. After a large amount of time has past Chiko can use her Bankai, all the while the water Vapor that her Shikai has been giving off has slowly been replacing the water in her opponents body with new water, the water from her sword. This is why it takes so long. But once she has this hold over her opponent she may begin to use Osmosis to do her bidding. There are only two ways in which to use this technique, neither of which is more pleasant than the last.
1. The first requires Chiko to keep a 'water vapor free zone' in and around her opponent, this will begin to slowly drag the water out of her victims body as it tries to balance the amount both on the inside and outside of their skin. they will begin to visibly steam as they are stripped of hydration, severely depleting their strength and stamina. A scary conclusion is most believe this is the work of the mist that encapsulates them, so many dive out in an attempt to stop it's horrifying effects but to no avail. Running away from the mist only makes it worse as there is less of her Zanpakuto's water around them, so the Osmosis works harder to balance the field and strips the water from their body faster.
2. On the opposite side of the spectrum is by concentrating the mist around the victim. By creating an overabundance of water around their skin the body attempts to absorb it to try and balance the levels. This can lead to horrible swelling and tissue damage as the cells in the victims body begin to drown themselves. Painful to move and starting to bloat this is a fate that makes you wish for death.

It is rare to see a Fire-Type Zanpakuto that does anything but burn everything to the ground, and initially at least, that's exactly what Fundotenshi aims to do. Capable of shooting large cones of fire from its tip, Ayako does as much damage as he possibly can. His fire is particularly hot and burns almost anything into ash. The more perceptive people will notice that once burned the Ash continues to burn, the firs does not dissipate but continues to stay alive. Fire needs three things, the first is a spark which is the blade of Fundotenshi itself, the second is Oxygen, which unless under-water or in a vacum is generally available. Thirdly however is a fuel. Fundotenshis mechanics work by using Ayako's Reiatsu as a fuel for the fire.
It is more focused that this however, when he burns something the ashes are 'marked' with Ayako's Reiatsu and by absorbing more of his Reiatsu from the air the ashes can continue to burn. With Fundotenshi's ability to manipulate fire this can allow Ayako to manipulate the still burning ashes of everything he burns throughout the fight. This means that the longer the fight continues and the more objects around there are to burn, the more ashes and more powerful he can become.

Bankai, Hainoumare no Fundotenshi (Angel of fury that is born of Ash)
Hainoumare no Fundotenshi brings the metaphor of the pheonix to life, whilst it doesn't quite make Ayako immortal it allows him to actually set himself on fire. This isn't painful to him and in-fact has slight healing ability, however when in Bankai the true ability is that Ayako can turn himself to ashes almost instantly and then recreate himself from any pile of ashes he currently controls. This makes him almost impossible to strike down in this form and the only way in which one can stop him is by striking out the fire, they must either remove Oxygen or put out all the fire before he can re-light it with his Zanpakuto once more.
