A few changes in the curriculum are going into effect this year as well. We welcome four former students this year as teaching assistants as well as the addition of two new classes for those in their sixth and seventh years. Charms class will still be taught by Professor Gianni, with the addition of his teaching assistant Mister Adellette, Care of magical creatures will now be taught by Miss Page, who also will be assisting Professor Dew in Defense against the Dark Arts., Muggle studies is being taught by Mister Vedit who is also acting as a teaching assistant for Professor Kovac in Potion making,and Transifguration is taught by Professor Wentworth, assisted by Mister Dogg.
The new classes will be Archaic charms, a class centered around the summoning of bound beings from other realms taught by Mister Dogg, and a spell writing class to assist wizards in not injuring themselves when making a spell taught by Mister Adalette. These classes are exclusively for students in their sixth and seventh years. We hope you enjoy your time at Hogwarts, and please do not interfere with the investigation of the missing students. If a body is found, report it immediately to the investigators found around school grounds. DO NOT stop to let others know and do not observe the bodies.

Well, here you are at an original alternate universe Harry Potter RP. There are Four GM’s, ReaptheMusic, DocTachyon, CinderellaMan, and myself. We will act as characters to help move the story along when things get off topic and steer you towards finding out what happened to the missing students. You will be making students at Hogwarts in the midst of strange natural disasters that tend to abduct students, and deliver them back with strange causes of death. A tsunami and the disappearance of over 45 students has caused unrest, as the bodies of the missing began showing up, so far only 3 have been found, none were victims of drowning, covered in mysterious runes and symbols. It's undergoing a slow investigation by the ministry of magic. Some might say too slow. Someone needs to intervene, but who among us is brave enough to challenge the Ministry?

He went into the Forbidden Forest to practice his engorgio spell on some insects when his wand decided to overpower the spell. A giant bug then chased him through the forest straight into Artemis, Kurt and Terrence. The three would become some of the best wizards in their years and are all currently studying to be teachers as well.

Upon realizing how tough raising a child in their home city his parents moved to live with some of his mother's family in England. Of course, this wouldn't prove easy for those used to a life of "thugs." They often had to work for days at a time, leaving Terrance with his grandmother who would typically shove him off into a work space with a stack of books and a stack of paper. He was told not to come out until he could copy down the books word for word. For about 11 years, he sat in that room and copied down books by hand over and over until eventually he got a random letter from what he found out to be Hogwarts. His parents were skeptics at first, but slowly came to accept the School for Wizardry despite it's..oddities. It was there that he met his three "best" friends, Kurt, Artemis, and Julius through an adventure in the Forbidden Forest involving him having to clean up someone else's mess of spells.

At around age ten he began creating his own fictional magic system, trying to dream up some kind of fantastic world with dragons and knights and wizards to use it in. This venture of his imagination was cut short when he got his letter from Hogwarts. He didn’t believe this was possible- His parents were scientists and he had quite the imagination, but magic seemed… Well, physically impossible. But he figured he’d be good,, after all the reading he’d done. This proved to be a fallacy, he was good at magic, but by no means an expert.
He did find, however, that he excelled in potion making. He found it a deal more reliable than his wand, and in some cases more useful. He does use his wand to good effect though, memorizing a number of utility spells, preferring to defer to his potions for more combat oriented magic(ranging from decidedly explosive potions to strengthening potions).
Eventually during his school career he encountered Artemis Page, Terrence Dogg, and Julius Adallette, assisting Terrence and Artemis in saving him from a particularly large bug.
For his senior project, Kurt developed an advanced system of magic, he calls the WizNet. it is essentially the internet for wizards. It is accessed through use of a small white box that can be bought from many wizarding stores, which calls up a holographic user interface. Currently on the WizNet there are a few dozen websites, one is tumblr esque, another is similar to Facebook or MySpace, one is Amazon.com for potion ingreidents, and another is essentially Wizard Wikipedia(WizWiki). The others are all sites that perform miscellaneous functions.
Along with the others, he went on to become one of the top tier wizards in his year.

Name: Aloysius (pronounced Al-e-wish-us) Fisher

Short Bio: Aloysius (Al to his friends) was born into a confectionery family. His wizard father was a potions major at his time at Hogwarts and quickly started teaching young Al about the subject from as soon as he was able to understand speech. What herbs are needed to make a sleep draught, how potion effects change when inhaled in a gaseous state and how to make salves and balms that ease pain. Al's mother on the other hand taught him about candies, chocolates and cakes.
These two disciplines clashed when young eight year old Al was first taught about the making of hard-boiled sweets. Young Al wanted to make some lollipops that would change colour with each lick and after doing some quick research in some of his Dad's old textbooks, figured he could make them pretty quickly. After 'borrowing' some of his father's potions apparatus Al set about his cooking attempt. It went so well for about ten seconds, then the magic infused, molten, sugar started to melt the beaker it was in while he was holding it.
Al threw the melting sugar and glass away where it shattered against the wall splashing the molten pieces all around the room and burning his right hand and arm in a jagged tiger stripe pattern. Screaming in pain, Al ran down to his father who after treating his burns slapped Al and told him off for being an idiot. Then his father promptly showed Al how it should have been done and then shoved a lollipop in Al's mouth, promising to teach him better in the future.
Years later Al's old burns still hurt and they had slightly damaged his nerves, making the grip of his right hand slightly weak when he received his letter for Hogwarts. This concerned his mother, but his father had some bandages and ointments made to dilute the pain and sent a letter ahead informing the faculty about his condition.
Throughout his years at Hogwarts Al had made few friends, telling virtually no one about his dream to revolutionize the world of magical candy or what happened to his right arm. Spending a lot of time in the first year potions classrooms Al made many sweets in his spare time, leaving them when he was done. This caused a rumor of there being some kind of ghost that leaves sweets in the first year classrooms. Al to this day has no idea that he was the reason for this rumor.

He is serious in his own way, his priorities are simply different from most other peoples with improving his candy or potions skills taking priority.

Appearance: Lauren is about 5'6", slender in build and has light olive skin, showing her father's italian heritage mixed with her mother's purely british one. She has long, dark brown hair that falls in waves over her shoulders and halfway down her back. She is kind of pretty but would only be average if not for the exotic look of her features working in her favour there, especially because of her big, light brown eyes and long dark eye-lashes. Matching her personality, she has a mature look to her and is usually in control of her facial expressions.

Neither her parents, nor her three younger siblings were or turned out to be wizards, so of course it was hard for her to adapt to Hogwarts at first. Jimmy is the youngest of five with three older brothers and one older sister, all of whom graduated from Gryffindor long before he ever set foot in Hogwarts. As it was, if he didn't join their ranks, he would've been outcast – resulting in one of the longest sortings in recent memory as he argued with the hat that, no, Ravenclaw isn't the house for him because only losers go there.
It was very likely the wrong decision, as to fit himself in with his new house he embraced the traits of laziness and procrastination, so as to not pull too far ahead of his friends. Having decided on his future as an explorer and curse-breaker (there must have been some fearlessness and foolishness in there somewhere) he studied solely for the subjects that mattered and resorted to the good old method of 'winging it' for the rest.
Currently, Jimmy holds the record for the most late-comings in one term (having hit himself with a drowsiness jinx on purpose to get out of History of Magic and using that excuse for all his other subjects too), as well as being one of the most daring students, having never refused a challenge in an effort to over-compensate for being sorted into the “wrong” house. One of his prized possessions is a transfigured plaque given to him by an older student for diving into the lake mid-winter. He never has been expelled, mostly because he's only a danger to himself, but he supposed he would receive a harsher punishment if they knew he took lovely night-time strolls around the castle.

Jimmy is over-confident, loud-mouthed and often forgets his manners (on purpose). As an extrovert, he hates loneliness whether it be in himself or others and can be quite heavy-handed in his attempts to make friends with those who have none; however, if it backfires, he takes it to heart and often resorts to being plain mean, a defense mechanism from growing up as the youngest. While he learns quickly and thoroughly, Jimmy has devoted himself fully into the stereotype of a Gryffindor; a lazy student who only performs to his fullest potential when he is actually interested in the subject matter. Despite his studying habits, he is not unmotivated – in fact, he is rather determined to succeed in the unusual field he has chosen.

Alex was born to two magical parents in a house full of magic. She lived up in the quiet areas of Maine, away from any prying eyes other then some tired old farmers. Her mother was famous among the world of wizards as a talented botanist, growing all sorts of magical plants. Witches and wizards would travel from all over to buy her ingredients for potions. She was soft spoken and quiet, as well as a pure blood, teaching Alex everything she knew about brewing magical potions.
Her father, on the other hand, is not soft spoken or quiet. He was an ambitious and charismatic broom flying champion. He is young and fearless, working as a traveling performer before he met Alex's mother. Somehow, even as a half-blood, he won Alex's mother's heart. He took it upon himself to teach Alex to work for what she wants as well as never taking no for an answer. He also taught Alex to fly a broom, and after several failed attempts, Alex was almost flying as recklessly as her father.
Magic came naturally and freely to a young Alex, since her parents had rather lack rules within the house. And with no fear of getting caught Alex practiced and practiced. The day her acceptance letter arrived was one of the greatest days of her life, and she was enthusiastic to get going.

Personality: Alex is an extrovert – permanently friendly, forgives easily and considers everyone who she hasn't met to be a friend. Sky would watch his duels and he would explain to her about the spells he used, how to conjure them, and so on. She prefers casting spells than brewing potions, though she excels in both, so she would be more excited about seeing her father duel than her brewing a potion. Her family is quite normal, and Sky would consider her life before joining Hogwarts boring, as she couldn't exactly practise spells without a proper wand. Her parents only agreed to buy her one when she was accepted into Hogwarts, so when she got the acceptance letter, she got really excited.
