Brandy Brooks - Home - Afternoon

"I'm equally to blame here, but next time let's make sure we turn the hot stove off, don't want to burn the place down after all." Ace commented as he turned off the stove.

Brandy clapped her hand over her mouth though she was grinning, “Sh...crap.”

Ace pulled Brandy close to him and kissed her forehead, "I'm a leg man myself though of course I do love me some breasts...as far as chicken is concerned I'll take some breast." Ace had wicked smile on his face as he said that. He began rummaging through her counters "Now where do you keep your booze...ah here we go. Some vodka, prefer whiskey but this will work." Before she could reply Ace had found a bottle of vodka and put it in the table.

Brandy turned to prepare him a plate, as she turned around and brought him a plate she noticed him slip the small tin in his pocket, she furrowed her brow.

"You got to tell me where you got these vegetables from, they taste so good, better than what I have, and I get most of my stock from Finch Farm." Ace poured himself a large drink, and down all of it. He looked down at his chest and arm, he still hadn't put on his shirt. He ran his fingers across his Brotherhood emblem tattoo, "I wonder if there's a way to remove this one...lots of people around these parts hate the Brotherhood...bunch of rock bangers..." he looked over at Brandy, "should I go check on diner? Make sure Betty is not overwhelmed? Don't want her to burn out...also need a shirt, cause a certain someone ripped mine off and left me with a soaking undershirt...not that I'm complaining."

Brandy was taken back by Ace’s sudden change in his demeanor, firing off questions like she usually does, “I...um...I grow my own vegetables. Are you OK Ace?” She offered a smile and pointed at the Reggie on his chest, “I think you should try to change or remove that one.”

"Sorry am I rambling...don't know why I'm rambling. Just have so many thoughts running around in my head...the chicken is good though Brandy, you have some skills after all...not that you're not skillful, I didn't mean it that way...if you opened a restaurant you'd probably run me out of business..." Ace laughed awkwardly.

Brandy just watched Ace as she ate her fried chicken, he was fidgety and acting very weird, like he suddenly had a burst of energy. “It's ok, I like to hear you talk about things. I'm glad you like the chicken, it was my Grandma's recipe.” She blushed a little, “I doubt I would run you out of business. Besides, if I added more to my greenhouse maybe I could supply you with some vegetables.”

She took the empty plates over to the sink and rinsed them off. She turned around and leaned against the counter, “I don't think any shirts that I have would fit you,” she walked over and ran her hands down his muscled stomach, “You should cover up though, I don't want Betty seeing you like this.” She gave him a kiss, “So, I can kiss you whenever i want now and it won't embarrass you right?”

“Oh, I forgot, I'm supposed to go and talk to Celeste down at the inn. Maybe you should go make sure the diner is alright, I can go see Celeste and stop by later if that's ok?” She pulled out a picnic basket and wrapped up the remaining chicken and put it in the basket. Walking over to Ace, she looped her arm through his, “Follow me,” she led him to her basement where she had a small pen and lamp, “I have these baby chicks, so I'll have more eggs when they get older, you could serve some at the diner.” She drug a milk basket out of the corner and pulled out a jar, “This is my Papa's Potion moonshine I distill out back, try it.” She took two jars and placed them in her picnic basket, “I'm going to sell some at the inn, like a bar type thing so i can actually make some caps.” She giggled, “Burns going down but mellows out, it's potent.”

Brandy headed back upstairs, Ace followed, she opened the front door for him and locked it behind her. She interlaced her fingers in his and walked across the street to the diner and gave him a kiss, “Go make sure Betty isn't causing any trouble, I'll see ya later Honey.” She made her way down to the inn, singing along the way. She heard two pops of gunfire and scurried inside the inn, slamming the door behind her causing her mason jars in her basket to rattle. “Not again, twice in one day?” She calmed herself down when she saw Sara, who could apparently hold her own as she ran off earlier to the disturbance that disrupts her beach time with Ace. “Hi Sara, Celeste you look great. I sure hope this stuff stops outside.” She sat her picnic basket on the counter, “Oh Celeste, thank you for the wheelchairs. I fixed two up and Shelby's girlfriend Eliza was allowed to leave the clinic because she didn't have to walk on her injured leg.”
Waylon - Salem - Afternoon

"Good afternoon", Mary said, "How may I help you?".

“Well, I'm looking for a horse.” Waylon scratched the back of his and gestured at the horse in the pen.

"The Horse?", she asked, "He's not mine, sad to say. I decided to step in when I noticed he was left tied up outside the Diner all night with no food or water. He's not yours either....you look too healthy for that, the saddle and bags were covered in blood and there isn't a mark on you."

“That comes as no surprise that he'd be covered with blood.”

"With that said", Mary continued, "If you know who he belongs to, I'd be obliged if you would introduce me. I'm sure they would like him back, not to mention the contents of the saddle bags."

“It is a friend of mines, or rather Shelby's girlfriend Eliza owns him. She got shot up pretty good and ended up at the clinic. We just took her back home to our shop earlier and she asked about the horse because everything she owns is in the… saddlebags I guess.” Waylon shrugged, he didn't know much, if anything about horses. He smiled, a little embarrassed of his lack of knowledge, but he took in the young woman. Her cared for long black hair, his eyes met hers, a spectacular blue they were, he blinked and shook his head bringing himself back from his gaze, “Sorry, yeah, I'm sure she would like to thank you herself.”

The woman brought out the bridal and saddlebags, handing them to Waylon. She fetched the horse from the pen, “Right this way, our shop is down the road. By the way, I'm Waylon.”

The young woman seemed very cool, calm, and collected, but in a different way. The way she spoke, her tone was different also, but Waylon's thoughts got distracted as Mary stopped ahead of him waiting for him to take the lead. He gave a pleasant smile and took the lead, “Looks like you've been set up here for a little bit, surprised I haven't seen you around town.”

As they approached S&W Weaponry he tilted his head towards the front door, “This is our shop, the girls should be inside. You can tie him up...over here.” He pointed at an old fire hydrant. He opened the door for Mary and stepped inside, he didn't see them anywhere, then he noticed the broken office door. He put his left hand in front of Mary and pulled his 1911 from his holster, “Wait here.” Waylon held the pistol, ready for whoever may be in his office. All that was inside the didn't belong was Eliza's wheelchair. Waylon returned to Mary, “I think I know what happened, but better safe than sorry.” He maintained his ready stance as he began to head up the stairs with Mary behind him, “SHELBY, YOU UP THERE?”

Shelby appeared at the top of the stairs, “What the hell Waylon?”

“What the hell Shelby?” he holstered his pistol, “Another door? Really?” He shook his head and stepped aside, “This is Mary, Mary, Shelby.”

“New girl Waylon? She's pretty, nice to meet you ” Shelby grinned as Waylon blushed.

“No...um...she was taking care if Eliza's horse and would like to meet her. She had the saddlebags too.” He shot Shelby a look, she quickly returned it.

“We just got her upstairs and situated, she wants to rest, so…” Shelby shrugged, “I don't know how talkative she'll be, but c’mon.” Shelby led them to her bedroom where Eliza laid, “Hun, Waylin found your horse and stuff. This woman, Mary was taking care of him.”

Shelby Jackson – S&W Weaponry/Home

Shelby watched as Eliza wrestled with something, something inside that she could tell ran deep. She just lightly rubbed Eliza's arm, “If you need to talk I'm here, I hate seeing you like this Hun.”

“Shelby could you lay down here with me? You can use a stimpak while you do it. I just don't want to be awake anymore.” asked Eliza, the pain on her face was not due to the external injuries, that was evident.

Shelby nodded, “I can, I'm sorry, I didn't know you wanted to sleep. I can give you a stimpack and then I can take you upstairs if you want? I just don't think that I can do it by myself. At least not without causing you pain anyways.” She got up, “The stimpacks are up in my room, just give me a second.” Shelby sprinted up the stairs and snatched a stimpack from her dresser drawer and rushed back downstairs just as quickly.

She took and wiped down the area above Eliza's gunshot wound and readied the stimpack, “Are you ready Hun?” With a nod from Eliza Shelby administered the stimpack, bringing a wince in Eliza's face. Shelby sat the empty stimpack in Waylon's desk and laid down, “Let me know if that helps, and if you think I can get you upstairs to my bedroom OK?”

Shelby held Eliza, it was a comforting feeling, but it did not extinguish her worry for Eliza. She just wished that she could help her past what was bothering her, patience wasn't always a value that Shelby had, but she had been learning it, albeit slowly. After several minutes Elzia moved her injured leg, just a little, then she nodded that she was ready to tackle the stairs with Shelby. “Alright, let's give this a try.”

Shelby helped Eliza up to a sitting position and draped her arm over her own shoulders. She placed her arm around Eliza's waist and they very slowly began their way to the stairs. At the base of the stairs Eliza paused, taking a deep breath and nodded, Shelby helped her up the never ending staircase. Once they reached the top, Eliza again paused and grimaced, but she was able to put a little pressure on her leg, a sign the stimpack did indeed work. She led Eliza to her bedroom and helped her to the bed, she pulled Eliza's legs up so she did not have to strain any more than necessary. “Would you like some different clothes Hun, or anything?” asked Shelby as she pulled the curtains closed.
Brandy Brooks - Home - Afternoon

Humming along to Diamond City Radio, Brandy took the chicken from the hot cooking oil and placed the pieces on a cooking sheet. She grabbed an extra egg to put away when arms wrapping around her waist startled her, she yelped and dropped the egg. As soon as she saw it was Ace, it eased her slightly, but her eyes glazed over as she backed away from him.

Ace move closer and took her hands, "You should've just waited for me Brandy. Reggie is long gone history, hell I haven't seen her in almost 4 years. I'm not with her anymore. I wouldn't lie to you." He kissed her hand, "Ever since I saw you arrive to town those few weeks ago, I haven't been able to keep my eyes off of you. I want to be with you...please believe me..."

His words made her heart jump, knowing that he wanted to be with her are words she had been searching for, for some time. She sniffed back her tears, “Really ?”

Ace nodded, “Yes, really. Believe me when I say Reggie is history. Brandy, I want to be with you.” Ace embraced her and lifted her up to kiss her, sitting her on the counter. He ran his right hand up her leg feeling her soft, supple skin. With his left hand he pressed her closer to him, as they kissed with vigor. He pulled back and moved down to kissing her neck while his hand traveled on the inside of her thigh.

“Yes,” she gasped as things continued to heat up between them, “I want to be yours Ace, I want to be all yours.” She put her hands in his face and returned to kissing him. Ace scooped her up and carried her upstairs to her room.

Bow chickie bow wow

Brandy laid on the bed, rubbing Ace’s cheek as she stared at him, never before had she felt that kind of relief. She was sweaty, butterflies still chased each other around in her stomach. The way Ace touched her, his eager eyes, the way he took control, all things she had been longing for had come to fruition. Surprisingly she was more than comfortable laying nude in front of him, her modesty had left the building, instead being filled with loving confidence. Ace took his undershirt and wiped her off, she pressed his hand against her face and closed her eyes. “That was...wonderful, I had no idea how wonderful it could be.” She pulled his face to hers and kissed him again, her legs still trembled a little.

Brandy sat up and looked for something to cover herself with, there was nothing laying around. She looked at Ace and smiled, “I guess it is my house, and I don't think you'll mind if I walk downstairs naked to get my dress?” she giggled a little, walking down the stairs with Ace right behind her playing grab ass, she was thrilled that he felt the same as she did and loved the attention he was giving her. She picked her dress up off the kitchen floor and slipped back into it. She opened a drawer to fetch some oven mitts and took the chicken from the oven. It was sizzling, but luckily it had not burned one bit. The aroma filled the kitchen and floated outside through her open windows. She turned around and yanked Ace over to her by his belt and threw her arms around him kissing him again. The waves crashing against the shore in the background made it all surreal. “So...do you want to try a leg or breast? Both are really good, I'm sure you'll like them.”

Shelby Jackson – S&W Weaponry/Home

Eliza turned her head to face Shelby as she exhaled, “Shelby...if you want to move on and forget about Calypso and the shit she did to you I understand but keep this in the back of your head. Bad leg or not, you say the word and I'll hunt that bitch down.” Eliza shifted her weight in the chair causing her to moan. “I might be a washed up but I'm still a Rider.” She moved her hand back to the cluster of dog tags, clenching them tightly. “We've got a debt to settle back west anyway.”

Shelby's eyes widened and she spit out a mouthful of water the waved her hands, “No, no, no, no Hun. I've been away from her for awhile and nothing has happened, let's not stir up a hornets nest, please. We can just live a low profile life here in Salem, we don't have to hide, but we don't want to raise a shitload of attention either. I had contacts of my own that I could've kept doing business with, they would rather seal with me than that bitch anyways. We don't need that shit anymore, your Riders, The Jaded Empire, we don't need any of that.”

Eliza's fist unclenched and the dog tags fell onto her lap. As much as she didn't want to admit she was so much more vulnerable now than she ever was.“Shelby I'm really sorry but do you think we could lay down somewhere?”

Um...sure ,” Shelby replied, she could tell by Eliza's face and actions that she was either in pain or something was tearing her up inside. “Waylon has a couch in his office right back here.” It took Shelby a minute to try to get Eliza back in the wheelchair as carefully as she could, she then wheeled to the office door and it was locked. “Fuck me, hang on,” she turned and kicked the door a couple of times before it broke open. She pushed Eliza over by the couch and helped her to the couch.

Shelby took a breath, “I never noticed the doctor give you a stimpack, I have a couple, do you want to try one and see if it'll help you limp around easier?”
Brandy Brooks - Breaking out of Ace’s Diner - Afternoon

Brandy just stared blankly at the picture of Ace and the woman who she assumed was his wife. She wiped her nose then sat up, neatly placing the picture on the nightstand. She looked at the clean gold ring on her thumb, she slid it onto her ring finger and held out her hand, the ring much too large for her finger hung loosely. Maybe someday. She sat the ring down next to the picture frame and sighed. Though Ace hadn't been gone too long, it felt like forever. She wanted to ask him about the two items, but she had lost her nerve. Walking over to Ace’s desk she pulled open the top drawer, there were three other pictures of the woman in there, she brushed away a tear and picked up a pencil and paper and write Ace a note.

Dear Ace,
I understand why I embarrassed you last night when I kissed you in the diner. I had no idea that you were married, none at all. You have never mentioned it, and I never thought to ask. I feel like a complete fool, I am sorry. I will leave you alone, I can't break up a marriage, that's not right.
Brandy
P.S. She is very beautiful.

Brandy placed the note on the bed where Ace would surely see it. She took one last look at the picture and walked through the appliance room to the cellar door. The door was heavy, but she managed to open it with some effort. Pausing to listen for a moment, she didn't hear anymore gunshots. She quietly shut the cellar door and bee lined for her house.

“Hey kid, why the long face?” asked Waylon startling her a little.

“I...um...I’m sorry Waylon, I don't really want to talk about it right now if that's alright?”

“Hey, no problem, hope whatever it is gets better. See ya later,” Waylon continued to the house next door to Brandy's, the horse was in a pen with a brahmin grazing on a small clump of grass. He walked up to the door, thinking it better to do than just taking the horse. He knocked on the door, “Hello?”

Brandy would have really liked to check out the horse, she watched it chew some grass then unlocked her front door. She left it open as the screen door slammed back shut behind her. She opened up the windows to enjoy the ocean breeze and also to keep it cool while she used her oven. She ran upstairs and tore her clothes off, putting on a sky blue summer dress and her glasses. Grandma always said cooking helps because you help others to have a meal. A small smile formed on her lips as she walked to the kitchen. Her apron was hung next to the fridge and she put it over her head and tied the back before she grabbed an empty container, flour, two eggs and some seasoning she had in the cupboard. She decided she was making fried chicken for Frieda and herself. She began mixing the ingredients together and pulled a container with the chicken she had dressed the other day. She rolled the pieces in her batter and put them on a plate as the cooking oil came to temperature.

“In all honesty Shelby I came to this town to die. I have a lifetime of pain and suffering behind me, people I’ve lost or left behind. I can’t live with that anymore, and I can’t escape it in a world filled with it.” Eliza was interrupted by the sounds of gunfire, instinct told her to spring onto her feet but her injuries stopped her dead in her tracks “Fuck! Where did I leave his gun!?”

Shelby held up her hands, “Whoa there Hun ,” she helped Eliza get situated back down. “Look where you're at, you're in a gun shop.” Shelby grinned at her, “I'm pretty sure we can find you a gun,” she winked. She noticed that Eliza had took hold of a number of dog tags tied together and began to fan through them as she sat quietly for a second.

“You know, I have been through of world of shit too. I've done a lot of shit that I wish I could take back and I've suffered too. We have each other now, or again, however you want to look at it, it doesn't matter. We are here...together, for each other, try to relax. These are good people around here so far, and that little twit Brandy, you won't find a more goodie two shoes I guarantee you that.” Shelby took a drink of water.

“Shelby I’m sorry. I should be thankful for what I have left, not what I have lost. It means everything to me that you're back in my life."

Shelby smiled, “It means the world to me too.” she stood up and pulled a .44 mag from the wall display and handed it to Eliza before she turned around and rifled through some boxes of ammo. She found a box that had 11 cartridges in it, “Here, if I don't make you feel safe enough. Told ya we could find a gun,” she laughed then pulled an AK-47 from the wall display and a full magazine for it from under the counter. “I'm not leaving, I'm just gonna pop my head out the door.”

She walked and looked outside up towards the diner and around, seeing no action she returned to Eliza's side and sat down, “Guess we'll just sit and wait. When we get you upstairs I'll make sure you have a nice scoped rifle, you can pick off assholes from my bedroom window.” Shelby just stares at Eliza, her hair was still damp and hanging free, she shook her head, “You know what? It was all worth it. Every last bit of it, all the shit Calypso put me through. Luckily I had Waylon, he rescued me, risking his own life for me. He helped me to heal my physical wounds and tried to help with my emotional ones too. He did everything that he could, and I'm grateful. I know you will like him, I saw the way you looked at him a couple of times. Honey, trust me when I say he is good people.”
Brandy Brooks - Ace’s Diner - Early Afternoon

“Mind the mess, I used this area for the diner’s food. My living space is the other half. Let me get light.”

“OK,” Brandy replied while fiddling with her hands nervously. When the lights came on she gawked at all the functioning appliances but kept quiet. She followed Ace over to his room and he grabbed her and pulled her to him, her heart fluttered. He leaned down and planted a kiss on her, she raised her hands to his shoulders. Ace sat down on the bed, pulling her down, she turned to face him and straddled his legs as he took away the fright inducing gunfire. Breathing heavier and heavier she adjusted the collar on her T-shirt then pulled on the bottom of her shirt to remove it.

Ace stopped and looked at her smiling, “I hate to stop this, but I should check upstairs, make sure everyone is okay.” Brandy didn’t want to let go, He kissed her again but managed to pry himself loose, “I’ll be back soon, I promise.” She finally let go him, wiping a little sweat from her forehead before she fell back on Ace’s bed. He just left her hot and bothered as she turned into her side to get comfortable. She laid there, rolling to her stomach she clutched the pillow and yelled into it, “WHYYYY!!!”

Thought that's why he hired Betty? she balled up her fists in frustration. She turned to her side and closed her eyes. Laying there for a few minutes calming down herself so opened them and instinctively reached for her glasses on the nightstand and knocked over a picture. Oh no!!! You dummy, you didn't even wear your glasses here. She sighed and sat up, reaching over to pick up the picture she knocked over. She caught a glimpse of something shining on the corner of the table, she picked it up and felt sick to her stomach. “A wedding ring?” she then turned the picture around and nearly choked at the scene of Ace embracing an attractive Latina woman. “What have I done, he is married? I'm a disgrace to my grandparents.” She couldn't even face herself, tears dropped down from her cheeks to her chin to her lap. She couldn't let the picture go, nor could she even move or speak. Her thoughts were all over the place, wondering how she did not know that Ace was married. He was a handsome man, so why wouldn't he be? She began to compare herself to the Latina woman in the puc, coming up short in everything that she thought of. She laid back down, slipping his wedding ring on her thumb and staring at the picture.
Shelby Jackson – S&W Weaponry/Home

Shelby and Waylon managed to carry Eliza to a chair to sit her down, “Thank you. I don't really have any idea on where to go from here. Everything I owned that meant something to me was on my horse and I don't know where he went. So I don't know what to do.” Eliza stopped herself for a minute and raked her hair with her fingers, she was getting a little emotional and was trying to calm herself down. “I don't want to be alone anymore. I've spent too much time alone, and afraid. I can't do it anymore.”

Shelby got down on her knees next to Eliza and brushed her cheek, “Don't worry Babe, I'm not going anywhere.” She looked at Waylon, “Have you seen a horse? Would you be willing to look for it? Someone must've seen it.”

“I can do that, did you want to get her upstairs, or did you want to wait?” asked Waylon.

Shelby looked at Eliza, “Let's wait a little bit before we do that, I saw you wince a few times leaving the clinic Hun.” She jumped up, “OH, and find out if Brandy actually followed through with it would ya?”

Waylon shook his head, “You're terrible.” He walked out the door.

Shelby turned back to Eliza and held her hands out to her side, “Was it really that bad? I mean, the girl needs to be defensive at least once in her life right?” She waved it off and grabbed a couple bottles of purified water from the dorm size fridge, “Here ya go Hun.” Shelby drug a second chair over by Eliza and sat down, “If you need anything please just tell me.” She took a swig of water and just looked at Eliza, tears started to flow again and she put her hands on Eliza's knee, “I still ca...can’t believe you're here, I missed you terribly. I was worried to death, almost literally about you.”
